I'm a middle-aged white woman, so I have no reason to believe I would ever be treated that way here, and perhaps that's exactly why I feel obligated to say something. The man wasn't doing anything that I could see to warrant being singled out. Hearing someone be judged and treated like a potential criminal because of how he looked was deeply upsetting. I walked out without buying anything. There are plenty of businesses where I can spend my money without wondering whether another customer is being followed around the store because of his race or ethnicity. I won't be returning, and I cannot in good conscience recommend supporting this business.
