Zalat makes a great pizza! Supreme w/hot honey drizzle is fabulous! Fast service and the order is always correct!

My tastebuds: Hi Zalat! Nice to finally meet you! I finally got the chance to visit this pizza spot with a pretty decent reputation, it wasn't my typical Friday "Pizza night" pick up, but it was an exciting plot twist for a Monday. This spot is located next to a bank, so parking for the restaurant is limited considering the other parking spots are taken up by designated bank parking, but I was able to nab a spot for a walk-in pick up order. It isn't the most attractive looking place on the inside, kind of favoring a kitchen warehouse of sorts, but you can tell that's where the pizza making magic happens! To try things out, I went with a Medium Pepperoni, thin crust - and they added this sauce with the pizza that took things to another level. The pizza itself is "neck and neck" in terms of taste with my favorite pizza spot "Pepperoni's", but what gives Zalat the edge over "Pepperoni's" is the sauce they put in the box! I don't know what it was made of exactly, but drizzling it on my pizza took my pizza up a notch! The pricing was comparable too, and I thought the message on the bottom of their pizza box was cute (just a little history about Zalat's and what makes them special). Shout out to James who gave good customer service and introduced me to that sauce in the box! Thank you, James! Zalat's is definitely worth a try, they offer a delicious variety of pizza pies to choose from. I'll definitely be back to try another. If in the mood for a pizza, check it out! After much success in Dallas, Zalat Pizza has made Houston its next pizza hub, popping up in various neighborhoods of the west side of the city, including this location in West U. I've long noted the pizza challenges in this neighborhood (#1) and unfortunately they haven't made it any easier. It unfortunately boils down to service. When they first began in early 2023, it was a cheerful crew that took the time to write messages on every pizza box. As the months have gone on, the decline is evident across the board: they stopped writing on the boxes, the phone orders are brief and cold, and the delivery has been slow as well. I've mainly been a takeout guy from the get-go and even then, the in-person treatment has been cold and frequent. If anything, it's a good incentive to order online to avoid the staff all together, but if anything, I'm less inclined the order because of the food has also declined. The pizza crusts are flimsier than before, the sauce to cheese ratio is most definitely not on point, and somehow the pies have become more doughy than before. The prices and the variety of toppings were a draw in the beginning, but as time has gone on, the result has been consistent: disappointing pizza. There are located in a tiny corner next to AmegyBank, replacing a Nutrition Depot. There are no seats and usually plenty of parking. Horrible wings, pizza and customer service! 3/14/26 - I live 2 streets over and walked to pick up my order (6 wings, 9''BigBackMiniz, order#11). The wings were burnt, old, and no meat on them. I've never seen wings that small before for $9. Also, when I picked up my food, Vanna (mngr.) was offended that I asked for a bag to put my wings and sauce in....demanding I bag my own food. I tipped the establishment $3 for what? I picked up my own food and was met with resistance when requesting a bag to put the food in. Ridiculous! Do better Z25, your food is disgusting, overpriced, and the SERVICE is HORRIBLE VANNA! Stop hiring lazy rude people who don't value customer service. read more

I had heard good things about Zalat Pizza and was eager to try it out for myself. After some research, I ordered their 18" Chicken Pho Sizzle Pizza for takeout. I would say that for the price, the portion sizes were generous! The Chicken Pho Sizzle combined classic pizza and Vietnamese pho-inspired flavors. The hoisin and sriracha swirl that was drizzled on top provided a spicy kick, but it wasn't overwhelming! The chicken was tender and well-seasoned and paired well with the bell peppers and onions. I have been a loyal fan of Zalat when they started in Dallas. When I heard they were coming to Houston, I took all of my friends to show them Zalat's greatness. There is something about the reaper roulette pizza that just makes me happy. I recently went to this location, and I don't think that I will ever go back to Zalat. First of all, the pizza is not the same anymore. The dough is not as fluffy and not as flavorful as it used to be. Second of all, the cleanliness of the staff was just unacceptable. The employee making my pizza was eating his own pizza and chips while wearing gloves?? What's the point of the gloves?? I don't expect the best dressed employees, but I do expect some sort of uniformity because I didn't know that wearing socks and slides was appropriate for a kitchen. read more

This is probably the most unique pizza joint/experience I've ever tried! The flavors are unconventional, but they pull it off so well! We ordered: *Pineapple Express- 8/10, sweet with a kick- tasted like it had teriyaki sauce. *Nashville Hot- 9/10, their take on hot chicken, mild, zesty, and flavorful. This location has very friendly and fun service, and the employees were helpful in suggesting pizzas from the extensive menu. It is a small counter service restaurant, so they only offer carry-out or delivery. We decided to brave the famous "Reaper Challenge", where they put drops of their house reaper hot sauce, but they are placed on a couple of random slices, so you will not know who will end up with the reaper! Pretty funny social experience...unless you're the one who gets the reaper (of course me, I would get it...lol horrible)! I highly recommend you prepare yourself if you choose to do the challenge, or hopefully you conveniently have glasses of milk with you! With the multiple locations in Houston and surrounding areas, I'm sure we'll be back to order and try other interesting flavors, maybe for the reaper challenge, but for sure because we love good pizza fun! read more

Zalat Pizza has quickly been making an appearance all over town! Originally from Dallas. Zalat opened a location on W Gray and then Washington Ave! Now there's one in the med center! I drove by the other week and notice their small sign next to the Amegy bank building on Holcombe. I didn't even know the building housed anything but the bank this whole time! How I glimpsed the small yellow Zalat sign is beyond me BUT got an email a week later saying that their Grand Opening Day was this week! The fiancé likes their pies from the other locations so we decided to check out the med center location as well since it's literally in our backyard! He placed an online order and I came by to pick up after work. I was literally their 4th customer!! Whoo-hoo! If I would've known they were opening at 4pm, I would've tried harder to be customer #1! The staff were all super friendly but especially the GM! He talked my ear off about how this is such a great company and how all the employees were treated so well and had such awesome benefits! Glad to see and hear that everyone loves working at this place so much! He talked about his recommendations, what his favorites were, and that they were also doing promotions to get sponsored by businesses within the community for free pizza to get their name out! Super interested! Will have to drop my business card off one day! We opted for the Pepperoni Masterclass! Lots of pepperoni with a garlic sauce! I love garlic so it's always a win! The pizzas came hot out of the oven - I was early for pickup and they needed a few more mins! The crust is super crispy! We also opted for the Margherita and this one was a bit disappointing cause it lacked flavor. The crust on this one also tasted bland and underdone. Pepperoni was by far the winner here. I told my coworkers about the place and we actually came back to order pies for lunch the next day! This time we opted for the Zealot (their version of the supreme) and the Veggie Pesto! Both were fantastic, though some liked the Zealot better cause it wasn't as sweet (due to the balsamic on the Veggie Pesto). Crust was just as crispy as ever! The Sweet Heat is excellent as far as takeout pizza goes. Wish more of the crust was covered with topping but what there is is delicious. Sweet Heat is fantastic. They promise this is the best pizza you will try and for takeout only, this could be true. The selection of premium pizzas is pretty creative. The extra large lives up to the size. read more

Ordered a pizza from this particular store a few weeks back and the pizza was burnt. I called and spoke to the manager Walter and I explained how I wasn't satisfied with my pizza. Walter assured me that he would take care of it. He asked if I wanted to order a new pizza with no charge then or later. I told him "later". I had the pepperoni pizza delivered. Delivery was very fast and the pizza was impressively uniform in presentation (toppings hadn't slid around, the pizza shape was perfect). It had a buttery flavor, pleasant Halal pepperoni, and a soft pale crust. We enjoyed it more after browning it in the home oven to crisp it up. Pizza with a unique spin on its toppings and dipping sauce. The sauce is a sriracha ranch? This location likes to draw love notes in the inside of the pizza boxes. If I had to pick one food to eat for the rest of my life it'd be pizza. That being said, this place was up to par for me. Ordered the pineapple express and the Nashville hot pizzas. The flavors were unique, the portions were decent, the toppings were creative and put together well on both pizzas. We even did the reaper challenge and asked to do half the normal spice level. So I was wanting this place to be good but it wasn't. My son and I ordered the cheese appetizer and the house salad. My son has been throwing up everywhere. I smelled his food and my salad after he was complaining and figured out the cheese had gone bad. Considering these use this cheese for everything it wasn't acceptable. The guy taking our order was all scattered brain as he stated himself. He had wrongly rung us up for two of the same pizzas. Ordered a Buffalo Pizza & a cauliflower crust Sweet Heat pizza. Both were made with care including the extra add ons that were requested. Pizza was ready on time for pick up. The person at the shop was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the online order system had a glitch, so I was not able to request a little later pick up time, but it was not a big deal. Ordered two 18" pizzas/$58 with tip. Was told it would be 20 min, it took 45. Pizzas did t even come out at the same time.
