We had been excited to try luigis as this was a pizza place that we saw trending on ig given we haven't lived in Houston for very long... we were highly disappointed by the rudeness and unwillingness to help by staff. There was an elderly asian man asking for help, directions to another restaurant, huge language barrier but we were trying to figure it out as we planned to dine at luigis. we asked the employees if they had heard of it, and the donkey teen at the counter had the smart remark of "it only takes 2 seconds to figure it out on your phone." The staff was very condescending, incredibly rude, we decided to go elsewhere and not even give them our business. For reference, this was an elderly man, was clearly lost, had trouble utilizing maps on his phone, or even navigating through it, and you would think the southern hospitality that is so highly spoken of moving here to Houston, is most definitely non existent, especially at this establishment. Pizza pie was very good and the service was excellent. I ordered pick up and it was ready when they said it would be. I had two medium pies one with just pepperoni and the other veggies. With a tip it was over $40 so a bit on the pricy side but the pizza pies were very good. read more

This is one of two Luigi's Pizzerias in the Houston area (the other is in Midtown). It's has a fun pizzeria vibe with limited seating, a couple arcade machines, and a glimpse into the kitchen where they are prepping the pizza. The pizza itself is tasty. There are plenty of toppings to choose from and items on the menu. I'm not the biggest fan of the crust. It's not quite a typical any pizzeria crust. It's a little too airy, which I'd usually love if it were a wood fired style pizza. The employee who was working greeted me as I walked in, and he was friendly enough. Unprompted he asked for I needed anything like peppers or Parmesan. The service was efficient and pleasant, which is all I'm looking for when ordering a pizza from a pizzeria. Some tips: Check out the weekday specials (picture of special menu attached). I took advantage of the Tuesday BYO 12" two-topping pizza for $12. Also, you can order online, and if you put in your phone number you will get a text with the estimated time to pick up your pizza, and you will also get a text when the pizza is ready. Until recently, they also HAD my son's favorite fried mozzarella sticks but, according to him, they changed them and now they taste like movie theater cheese sticks. He's very bummed about that. Ordered a pizza for delivery. Opened the box, took a bite, and immediately noticed that the pizza was undercooked. The dough inside the crust was one step away from being raw. This place used to be my absolute favorite...until last night. We ordered delivery which was a huge mistake. They outsource to DoorDash which is a big problem because when something goes wrong, the restaurant blames them, but since it wasn't ordered directly through DoorDash, you don't have the features and protections as you would if you ordered it yourself. We did have an issue with the delivery but that's a whole other story. The biggest issue was the actual pizza, which I used to dream about, but has suddenly changed into the most atrocious thing since Cece's. The crust was dense and flavorless, with a strange texture. I put it in the oven to crisp up, but the bottom just wouldn't cook and wound up tasting like dry clay. The toppings were pretty stingy for a supreme. There was hardly any cheese and it was all chopped up into microscopic pieces that were hard to identify. They were generous with the sauce, which tasted like it had gone bad a few days ago, and overly sweet to the point where it was almost like a rancid desert. Pretty gross all around! After last nights experience I can confidently say I will never eat another thing from that place. I'm really sad because it used to be the best pizza in town. Customer service was pretty bad too when I called about the delivery issue, so we didn't even try to get our money back for the awful pizza. Bummer. read more

The price is good, the facilities are a bit small, and the food is so-so. The people are friendly and they seemed to like the job but the calzone was really underwhelming and inconsistently cooked. Parts were scalding hot and others were cool. The meats were squishy in a bad way- like maybe too much fat or oil. The gelato was good. They do offer dine in but I don't think this is what they want from a business model as it is small inside and they don't wait on you at the table. We had a take out order a few weeks ago, and the cashier/ pizza maker was not only handling money, but picked paper off of the floor and proceeded to touch the pizza, along with other food items without washing his hands. This is not only unsanitary and disgusting, but we have notified the Health Department. We were going to mention this while standing at the counter, however, with the attitude this "manager" had, he might not have even cared. The other associate was wearing gloves, and we think the manager was the one at the cash register, as he is telling the other associate what to do/ how to work. The one wearing gloves was very courteous and professional, while the other individual was very lackadaisacal and just "going through the motions". He cared more about being on his phone than being there and serving customers. He was also running his fingers through his hair and adjusting his hat. Oily fingers from a scalp and food! Sick!!! I've been a long standing fan of Luigi's. They are one of the best here in Houston. If you love pizza you must go here. There are two locations for this chain, but this one is more home style while the other is connected to a Biergarten. The staffs are nice and we are always surprise at how big the slices are here. They're super generous. We got the cheese pizza and I love being able to taste all the individual ingredients. Crispy pizza with a nice, chewy bite to the crust. The sauce is natural and fresh tasting. Love the freshness here. Definitely a less is more kind of place. read more

Great pizza here, and a cozy little spot. I am going to mention that the staff seemed thoroughly overwhelmed when I ordered a large to go, one Friday night. I ordered by phone, came to pick up my order 15 minutes later, and then waited about 40 more minutes inside. There were loads of people waiting like I was. Not a lot of joy in that restaurant that night. It was standing room only, too. I honestly really felt bad for the crew. They work in full view of the patrons, who--most of them--were holding torches, axes, and pitchforks. It was getting pretty dicey. Yeah, it took forever, but the pizza here is worth it. Quaint little pizza spot we found on our trip from out of town. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Pizza was cooked well and came out fast. I have always been a fan of Luigi's since I first ate there fairly regularly at the Downtown location a decade ago. I had only been to this location once in either 2018 or 2019 n still a big fan. I had almost forgotten about it bc it's so hidden off and never saw it once since then until someone I knew mentioned it recently. It all came back to me and I knew I had to pay a visit. I ordered a slice of Margherita Pizza, slice of Mushroom Pizza both dine-in and a takeout of Lasagna for myself too earlier. Everything was awesome, very well-made, really moist and very delicious. Everything I ordered reminded me of food from a great spot in NYC this past summer. The pizzas both had great oven/coal-fire crusts. The cheese and sauce were good quality and were about equal in amount to the other. The sauce was more runny and tangy, while the cheese was oily to an acceptable degree. The margherita pizza was one of the best I have had down here with a solid, very tasty profile of tomatoes, olive oil, basil and acidity. The mushrooms pizza was cheesy, earthy, tangy and very tasty like the other in its own way. I was lucky to get the lasagna since it ran out the last two of three times I tried to get it in the past at another location. The lasagna was very tasty with a rich, creamy, savory and sour profile to it. The sauce was a tomato cream and very good with supple ground beef and soft layers of pasta. It wasn't too salty or too sweet. Great, friendly service from the lady that took my order and what an exciting NFCC game to enjoy the meal with. So let's talk about this. The pizza was good. My problem? I arrived having ordered ahead, 1 medium and 1 large. When I walked in, i was told they ran out of large. Instead of calling me, they waited until arrived and asked me to wait 10 minutes for two mediums, Instead of a large. So I do, shit happens right? I'm good with the fix. 25 minutes later, I watch as every person that comes in is told to wait in the car because their order isn't ready. The parking lot was getting busy. I go in twice and they say it's cooking. I'm expecting three mdieums. 30 minutes after arriving they miraculously "found" a large pizza.... because you know, they hide and stuff. Very tricky, those piles of dough If you are severely behind, just SAY SO! Call back and say you need more time. Offer a side item for the wait if someone walks in. There's options. Making everyone wait, and BS'ing me on an order isn't necessary. Instead, I got my original order, after waiting almost an hour for a pickup. I could've done delivery for this hassle and been able to take shots instead. Do better. Two stars because the pizza was good. Negative three stars because the services sucks. read more

We keep driving by this Luigi's Pizzeria and I keep wanting to try it. What I didn't realize was that it was owned by the same Luigi's Pizzeria in Midtown, which I had been to a long long time ago. We called them on a Saturday evening and they told us we were a bit out of their delivery area but they'll do it anyway! The spaghetti and meatball was good - the sauce was unique and a bit sweet. It wasn't fancy spaghetti but it was what I wanted. The pizza was a very thin, crispy crust and very very light. The toppings were good and the crust was flavorful. We actually really enjoyed the pizza here - though don't order here expecting some wood-fired pies. They were normal thin crust pizzas, with flavorful fresh toppings. My five year pizza relationship with Luigi's has come to an end. Their service and consistency of pizza has become too terrible to deal with. They changed ownership a couple of years ago and more times than not the experience gives me heartburn before even eating the food. Tonight, I ordered via Ubereats, and the driver canceled the order because for whatever odd reason, Luigi's does not start preparing Uber orders until the driver arrives and of course the driver was not willing to sit there waiting for 45 minutes. I ended up calling in a pick-up order myself, was given 45 minutes, arrived 55 minutes later and still had to wait 20 minutes at the restaurant which was full of other peeved people. The patrons were all good enough to wear masks, but not their staff. The skinny male with long black hair who was working the dough wore his mask around his neck the entire time, how dumb can they be when everyone can see them? As far as the pizza, as always, I ordered extra cheese since their normal amount of cheese is usually pretty anemic. I told them to charge me for it as an actual topping to be sure it actually had extra cheese. Not only was there not the extra cheese that I paid for but there was so little cheese it was as if they were rationing it (this was not the first time that's happened). To add insult to injury, they overcharged me - even though it was the exact same order, the amount I paid for in person was 2 dollars more than the Uber price. If anything restaurants usually charge more via delivery services to make up for the service charge, so chalk this up to more ineptitude by the staff and management here. read more

I originally went across the street because I wanted Shipley's donuts but the smell coming from Luigi's Pizzeria had me mesmerized. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the whole in wall pizza oven, so I automatically knew the pizza was going to be good! I got the Mexicana I know Mexican pizza toppings doesn't sound like your typical pizza toppings but trust me go for it! I was hungry but not that hungry, so I only got one slice.
