We've always loved strolling and shopping at Park Royal, but this time we discovered a gem tucked away in The Village--Zaatar W Zeit, serving up bold, flavour-packed Lebanese street food Here's what we ordered and LOVED: Chicken Tawouk Pan Marinated grilled chicken breast -- a little on the drier side --but saved by their housemade garlic sauce and hummus (excellent stuff). It comes with thin-cut fries and crunchy pickles that add the perfect bite. We dipped those crispy fries in the garlic sauce and hummus. Excellent flavours. Shawarma Steak Wrap Tender, juicy, marinated beef shawarma wrapped in their freshly baked flatbread. So flavourful. So satisfying. A total must-try if you're a shawarma fan. Highly recommend! Dubai Chocolate Wrap The Dubai Chocolate is so trendy now. Zaatar W Zeit made with authentic Levantine pistachio paste, crunchy kataifi, and a nutty chocolate blend, all wrapped in their signature pistachio-based dough. Sweet, crispy, and rich. We also learned something cool: Bonus fun fact: Zaatar W Zeit = Thyme & Olive Oil Great vibes, solid food, and perfect for a casual Middle Eastern street food fix! If you're at Park Royal and craving something different, tasty, and shareable -- this is your spot. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $20-$30 each person (lunch) Presentation: 2/5 Parking: 3/5 Tips: * Outdoor patio seating available. * Everything is made fresh - worth the wait. * Self-serve water and utensil station for added convenience. * Friendly staff who explain the menu well. * Birthday Box available for $12.49. * Grab-and-go fridge with salads and desserts - tasty and convenient. * Randomly selected 50% off items on the Grab-and-go fridge (surprise deal). Would I Return: Yes ‍

We went fairly late and found out that their last call was at 8:30 PM--something to keep in mind if you're planning a visit. Overall, I enjoyed the food profile, though the service could definitely be improved. It was challenging to get the server's attention, and some cutlery was missing until we asked for it. My friend and I shared the Mezza Sampler - Hot ($32), which included 2 falafel, 2 kibbeh, cauliflower, and halloumi fries. Each dish was quite good, but the highlight for me was definitely the fried cauliflower. It was served with tahini, tzatziki, and pita bread. I'd recommend this more for sharing, as it can get a bit greasy. Our other friends ordered the Lentil Soup (small - $5), served with bread crisps, and the Batata Narra ($10), which are potatoes in a tomato chilli sauce. They said both dishes were good, though the Batata Narra wasn't spicy at all.

Loved the hummus and tabbouleh -- both packed with flavor and that bright, tangy freshness you want. The mixed grill was huge, definitely enough to share. Service was friendly and quick, and they were happy to adjust things to our preferences. Honestly, this might be one of the best Lebanese/Middle Eastern places in B.C. The menu focuses on real, sit-down dishes instead of the usual street food, which is a nice change. Clean, comfortable space -- overall a great find if you're craving authentic Lebanese

My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner and we were delighted. We ordered the Chefs Special Sampler for 2 - basically giving us a sampler of everything on the menu for $90 per person. We were really really full and couldn't finish it all. Highlights: - Chickpea Fetteh: warm delightful mixture of ground meat, chickpea sauce, with soaked pita at the bottom and crispy stuff in it. It just explodes with flavour and texture. - dip sampler: the hummus and eggplant mutabbah were really good but that pocket pita bread was out of this world good. Even the tabbouleh was good and my wife normally hates that. - the lamb tartare was AMAZING. It was kneaded so soft that it was practically a paste. When you combine it with the nuts and red spicy sauce and eat it with bread the combo is winning. - grilled Kibbeh and regular kibbeh - both really delightful - the grilled meat plate was great. In particular the chicken with the garlic tahini was really flavourful. The kabob mushrooms and peppers on top of smoked baba ganoush was soo good. Loved the smoke flavour. They finished by serving us baklava sampler which was all really good. From start to finish this is an experience for the ages.

We ordered the Lahm b Ajeen w Jabneh, Zaatar w Jabneh, and the spicy chicken reinvented flatbread (which didn't even make it to a photo because we devoured it so fast). I'd 100% recommend this spot without hesitation.

We were greeted by what I assume was the owner (as I also saw him featured prominently in the YouTube video) and took a seat at a table in this relatively small seating area. I kinda had an idea of what I wanted so I started to order.. that is, until the owner told me that he recommended something else on the menu instead. I'd be lying if I said this didn't catch me off guard a bit and even rubbed me the wrong a little, mostly because I had my mind set on what I wanted but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted his recommendation. Again, I'll admit that I was a little pessimistic during the wait. I told my girlfriend that I hoped the Philly was as good as he thought it was because if not, I was going to be severely disappointed and my review would highlight that. I gotta say, great call from the gentleman. The Philly wasn't the most traditional I've ever had but it was a very yummy variation with nice textural differences that made it an abundantly enjoyable experience. The meat was cooked very well, the cheese was gooey, the fried onions gave it a great crunchy bite and that sauce was a scene stealer. All in all, what started off as a bit of an uncomfortable experience ended in one of our favorite dinner outings of our trip. The only extra detail that I'd like to share to the owner is to update his menu highlighting his personal recommendations so people lean towards those more. I like to take recommendations and ask for them consistently but maybe others wouldn't have appreciated it and could've taken it a bit out of context.

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Its really not a good place to hang out for a long time, but rather sit down, eat, and get out type of place. I had the lavender latte and the Tagine this time. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

It would have been nice to have some Arabic or oriental music playing in the background. Maybe also some rose saboun in the bathroom would have been nice!! (Ok I'm overdoing it...just sharing my two cents!) Overall food was good, but I think service could be improved. We ordered the cold mezze sampler platter for 3, and we were a party of 4 adults. The portion was good and everything was delicious. I'm GF, and they serve the dips with lettuce for free (or you can order a side of cucumbers for a small charge). The presentation was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was after a while all of the dips just get mushed together and you kinda don't know what you're eating anymore...Also we all loved the jalapeno hummus the most. We asked for arak and it wasn't served the right way...Our server forgot to bring an extra empty glass so that we can mix the arak with water (in the proportional way that we'd like). I asked for an empty glass for mixing in addition to another drinking glass because mine was broken (crack was big and the glass should be chucked out). Server forgot to get an empty mixing glass. We ordered a taouk pita wrap, but we got served a taouk platter instead. Anyhow she just wasn't very attentive. The mixed grill mezze platter was mostly yummy except for the kafta. All of us at the table couldn't have more than a bite of it. The meat was undercooked, and the taste of the lamb was too strong and off. Definitely didn't taste like the kafta we know. The chicken and the cauliflower were delicious. I'd be tempted to try Nuba at another location and sample other things off their menu. Happy eating!!
