Mixed plate chicken and beef with hummus

Perfect place to get your shawarma! Perfect portions for individuals or even sharing!! Comes with pita bread every order! I got the chicken and beef mixed plate! Sooo yummy!! The chicken and beef consistency was perfect and so juicy! Definitely would come back for more! They were super fast with the food and made sure my whole order was perfect! I ordered a total of 6 items, things came out within 15-20 minutes!

I've heard of Falafel Cafe through Yelp and wanted something yummy for my lunch yesterday. I called in for a phone order to get a mixed Plate of beef and chicken($12.99). Food was pretty good, but I felt like something was missing. I'm so used to seeing Chicken Donair with Tabouli salad, meat, rice, Pita bread and potato. My food only came with meat, rice, salad (NO tabouli salad) Pita bread and Hummus with Tahini sauce. Food is on the smaller side. Besides there wasn't enough Hummus in it. I honestly love both Hummus and Tahini sauce in my food. Service was fast!

If you want reliable tasty shawarma, This is the SPOT!! We've ordered take out here on Uber eats already 3x in the last few months and this place does not disappoint with flavour and juicy meat! We had got this time: * Chicken & Falafel Mix Plate with Tabbouleh * Chicken & Beef Mix Plate with Tabbouleh Both come with Rice, tasty hummus and pita. We had subbed both our plates with Tabbouleh instead of their salad, super tasty and fresh! I must say their chicken and beef is NEVER DRY, that's always so nice when you find a Donair place that dosent serve dry meat! Their falafel is soooo crispy and super tasty, one of the best falafels I've had for take out cause usually they end up soggy or soft but still kept its crunch after 30mins! Overall highly recommend this little business!

Little cafe that looks good on Google search so went and turned out to be the BEST decision ever. Friendly service and clean area. Small but couple tables inside and outside. Right in front of a bus stop and some street parking around (on the same street too). Take outs are available too. Amazing and delicious food. One of the best salad and falafel I've ever had! Highly recommend and will definitely go back!

Ordered through skip to try it out. I got the chicken plate w/pita on the side. I think they make their own pita, so it was good. Also ordered the veggie samosa. 7$ for a samosa was kinda over priced I would say. I thought it would come with the sweet sauce other places usually give with samosas. But I got some other sauce, wasn't my vibe.

Over the weekend, we tried Shawarma Cafe... and it was delicious! I chose the Mixed Plate (with Chicken and Falafel) while fiancé chose the Lamb Shank Plate. Both come with house salad, hummus, and fresh homemade pita bread. For mine, I was able to choose three sauces to go with it, in which I chose Tzatziki, tahini, and garlic sauces. They all went well with the meal. And the hummus was ! Fiancé really enjoyed his Lamb Shank! I must say though, the fresh cut Chicken shawarma was so good! My favourite of the whole meal. Also, even the rice was flavourful. Definitely highly recommend!

A cute place to grab a bite to eat. They have an awesome selection on their menu, and the food is delicious. They provide friendly and efficient customer service. I come here regularly and will continue to do so!

My buddy brought over a shawarma platter takeout platter from here and it hands down had to be one of the best I've ever had in this town. The best part is the pitas are freshly home made. Since trying it, this place has been a weekly meal for our family now. The leg of lamb is outstanding and their mixed chicken/beef plate is a must-try! You won't be disappointed!

My order. All of it was amazing

It would have been nice to have some Arabic or oriental music playing in the background. Maybe also some rose saboun in the bathroom would have been nice!! (Ok I'm overdoing it...just sharing my two cents!) Overall food was good, but I think service could be improved. We ordered the cold mezze sampler platter for 3, and we were a party of 4 adults. The portion was good and everything was delicious. I'm GF, and they serve the dips with lettuce for free (or you can order a side of cucumbers for a small charge). The presentation was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was after a while all of the dips just get mushed together and you kinda don't know what you're eating anymore...Also we all loved the jalapeno hummus the most. We asked for arak and it wasn't served the right way...Our server forgot to bring an extra empty glass so that we can mix the arak with water (in the proportional way that we'd like). I asked for an empty glass for mixing in addition to another drinking glass because mine was broken (crack was big and the glass should be chucked out). Server forgot to get an empty mixing glass. We ordered a taouk pita wrap, but we got served a taouk platter instead. Anyhow she just wasn't very attentive. The mixed grill mezze platter was mostly yummy except for the kafta. All of us at the table couldn't have more than a bite of it. The meat was undercooked, and the taste of the lamb was too strong and off. Definitely didn't taste like the kafta we know. The chicken and the cauliflower were delicious. I'd be tempted to try Nuba at another location and sample other things off their menu. Happy eating!!

From the moment we sat down, the experience was something special. They start you off with warm, grilled bread alongside a gorgeous pool of fresh olive oil, and here's the touch that sets the tone for the whole evening: the oregano garnishing that oil is cut tableside from a live plant. It's a small detail, but it tells you everything about how much this kitchen cares. We went all in on the menu and have zero regrets. The spread platter was outstanding, multiple dips, beautifully presented with soft bread, each one distinct and well-crafted. The warm marinated olives were rich and aromatic, the kind of thing you keep reaching back into. The calamari was perfectly fried, light, crispy, served with a creamy tzatziki dipping sauce. For mains, the whole lobster with fries was a showstopper, generous, fresh, and served with clarified butter and a tangy sauce. The halibut was elegant and delicate, plated with roasted vegetables and large capers in a way that felt genuinely refined. The cocktails and drink program held up beautifully throughout the meal too. This is the kind of restaurant that makes a night feel like an occasion. The food is thoughtful, the ingredients are clearly quality, and the atmosphere delivers. And Yuri, our waiter, was absolutely fantastic. If you're on the fence because of that rating -- ignore it. I popped in & walked around checking out the setup & noticed the freshness & cleanliness right away. I like the decor as well - neat high tables & wood finishing. DS is still a baby - having just opened up 3 months ago. I met the boss & we chatted up a storm. He's a cool guy who's been in Vancouver for over 10 years - originally from Turkey! Ok - you had me at Turkey!!! He recommended the chicken Doner & wow oh wow did this taste of heaven go down or what. The chicken doner was one of the best I had so far. It was flavorful on its own, with a slight crisp on the edges of the meat. It was not dry and was just right. I got to try several of the sauces and my favorite would be the garlic tzatziki and the cilantro. I didn't really like the doner sauce which was essentially ketchup, mayo and mustard. Feta cheese was extra cost which was not stated up front when the staff asked if I want it. That is a bit sneaky I feel.

How we got here: my lunch appointment went long and I was hungry, needed to grab something quick before the next meeting. I had seen a sign somewhere in the area for a lovely Greek gyro previously. I wasn't able to find the sign/restaurant I had seen previously. We walked past this place and while I was trying to figure out whether or not they offered a Greek gyro, one of the workers there essentially pulled us in off the street and put a menu in front of us. They have so many images-everywhere it was a bit of a challenge to figure it out quickly. I saw the shaved lamb on the right of the "cooking area" so I figured I would get what I was asking for. In the restaurant, that was basically empty at lunch, I figured out why he grabbed us, they are probably desperate for business. They also charged us like we were the only paying customers. Most places offer a lunch combo meal, gyro, drink and fries for a single low price but our order of two combos was nearly $60!!!! I have receipt!!! (See attached). What we got was definitely not shaved lamb. The meat was chunky, beef stew LIKE meat and as I am unfortunately eating this as I write this review I can't tell you it tastes AWFUL!! They probably get this s#it cheap!!! On it, was some kind of sauce, also not tzatziki. As they are Persian and not Greek I suspect they don't even know what tzatziki sauce is! You can tell from the pictures the sauce isn't right, the vegetables don't look fresh, the bread is stale The $7 order of fries is disgusting as well. I wanted to treat myself to ordering lunch out. I will NEVER patronize this place again, I dare call it a restaurant, it should be permanently closed. I think I have to vomit now to save myself! Please consider this WARNING a gift. My time is EXTREMELY VALUABLE and I don't have time for this kind of food crime or BS. I call FRAUD!!! (I was going to post a photo of what a gyro should look like so you could easily compare but decided against it because I didn't want there to be any confusion about what you will actually get when you dare to eat here!) Disgusting activities by management…read more Was there for a pre-show snack on Saturday. What appeared to be the manager? or owner? was drunk out of his mind by 6:00 and as other staff came in for shift the bro-crew all sat at the bar and kept drinking. How do I know they were staff? They kept going behind the bar and in and out of the kitchen and fraternized with the waitresses. At the bar they were loud, carousing, offensive (really) and did not have any respect for any customer in the place. Mind you there were only 4 tables at the peak of dinner on a Saturday. Says something. It got out of hand within the hour that we were there. The 'owner(?)' actually grabbing one of the waitresses and lifting her across his lap at the bar. And others going over to the bus station to give a waitress a squeeze. Happy hour snacks very very so-so but one of our party liked the burger. However, from working some years in restaurants with good leadership, I know it should be expected that staff do not sit at the bar to drink - ever. And this is an example of why. It too easily gets out of hand, and in this case was certainly encouraged by the owner/manager, who should be fired immediately. He is either ignorant of what it takes to run a restaurant or was placed there by a friend/family member. I would be surprised if it was his money at stake. He is unwittingly running the business into the ground. I for one will never be back and noone I know will either.
