Yummy Kitchen is a hole in the wall place that should not be skipped! The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. There's various plates and sides to choose from. We ordered four different plates which come with a side of 2 scoops of rice, japchae, sweet braised potatoes and macaroni salad -- yes, a ton of food. Chicken Katsu: Chicken was crunchy yet moist and came with a side of katsu sauce. Loco Moco: The patty was juicy with thick delicious gravy topped with two perfectly round sunny side eggs. BBQ Chicken Teriyaki: Chicken was moist, soft, and sweet with the teriyaki sauce. Meat Jun: The beef was soft and tender cooked in a thin layer of eggs. The plates came with 2 scoops of rice, small portions of japchae , mac salad ( little too mayonnaise-y for my taste), and pickled carrots. We love the Korean fried chicken, their japchae is amazing and the only place I've seen that offers meat jun (thin beef dipped in egg)! So good even my Hawaiian friend approves of it! It's a cute little shop that is owned and worked by an old couple but man, they know how to make the food delicious Meat Jun: this is my first time trying this dish and it was pretty good. The meat was tender and the egg layer was on point. Definitely goes well with the dipping sauce. Soy Garlic chicken: its not super crispy but you get a hint of it from the start. Definitely need to eat this right away or it will get soggy. Tender and juicy and plump The sides that came with these two entree was also delicious and hearty. This small family restaurant in a small strip mall in south Renton serves an honest meal. No frills, just good Korean food. Prices are reasonable. The ambience is relaxed. The service is minimal, you order at the counter then your meal is delivered to your table. Pretty basic. We both had bibimbap, a combination of Bulgogi, kimchi cucumber, rice and something else I don't know the name of, all topped with a fried egg. I ordered the bibimbap instead of the Bulgogi plate because although both contain Bulgogi, it had this nice diverse selection of 'sides'. The Bulgogi flavor was a bit bland but it came with a sauce that perked it up nicely. Portions were generous. We enjoy getting out and trying this type of restaurant. I called my order in at around 11:45am and they said it would be ready in just 10 minutes! We ordered a Meat Jun (tender beef coated in egg) Plate, a Spicy Pork Plate, and an extra side of rice. All of the plates came with two scoops of rice, mac salad, Korean sweet potatoes, and jap chae (Korean sweet potato noodles). Our total came out to about $26. The two plates were HUGE and more than enough to fill the four of us. Both dishes were excellent and reminded me of the plate lunches we used to get back in Hawaii. The only thing I wish they offered were more veggie sides like sautéed spinach or bean sprouts. However, I know the traditional Hawaiian plate lunch just consists of meat and carbs. Hawaiian food is heavily influenced by Japanese cuisine and other cultures. If you get offended by someone calling it Teriyaki chicken when teriyaki chicken is literally a Hawaiian dish. I was in the area and decided I wanted Hawaiian food. That kind of ended up being a lie since I got the Garlic Fried Chicken lunch plate which doesn't feel very Hawaiian to me. I ended up eating this in my car and it was good. The garlic fried chicken lunch plate comes with 5 chicken pieces, 2 scoops of rice, mac salad, japchae and what I believe is radish kimchi. The chicken was fantastic and not dry at all. Honestly the biggest issue with eating it in my car was the fact the food was still hot and I probably burned my mouth a little bit from the heat. The sides were decent. I wouldn't say they were super but they paired with the chicken really well and I appreciate that. This is notable since I've had mac salads that ended up tasting really bland compared to the main dish. The radish kimchi also served as a great pallet cleanser to go with the chicken. Looking at other reviews it seems there is a chance you might get a glazed potato side dish. While I technically do like potato side dishes more, I do think the radish kimchi is better in this case so glad that's what I got. I'll have to come again when I'm in the area especially now that I've read more reviews that tell me meat jun is a Hawaiian thing and one that I only heard of by reading Yummy Kitchen's menu. read more

It came out in less than 5 minutes and the stewed pork has clearly been cooking for hours. The traditional Hawaii side of macaroni salad was delicious. And I usually don't like mayo salads. It was interesting to us that there was a Korean/Hawaiian cuisine restaurant, but it did not disappoint! We got the BBQ chicken and Kalua pig plates, which had very good portion sizes. I ordered on grubhub and the driver delivered it to the wrong house so I submitted another order because I was so hungry! Unfortunately when the driver went to the pick up the second order the restaurant wouldn't complete it although I had already paid for both orders. If I didn't pay for it then I would understand. But considering I was charged for both orders and didn't receive any food is very disappointing. The good: The Kalua pork was tender, savory, and smoky. The Mac salad was good. Shrimp fried rice was very good. I especially liked the sesame sprinkled on top that added extra depth to the flavor. This has been a great find for my husband and I. It's difficult to find Meat-Jun in this area so it's great to have a place who makes it and makes it well not too far from our home. So far my only complaint is the Mac salad. I LOVE Mac salad and I don't love it from Yummy's. Located in a small shopping strip so can be easy to miss. I prefer to call in my orders so I can grab and go.
