Hard to write a review for this. We would like to come back and try more food. We ordered a ton of food from the Chinese place in the same shopping center and then came over here and just ordered a lemongrass tofu banh mi. They were very busy and apologized when they said the sandwich would take 10 minutes. It wasn't a problem at all because we were waiting longer for our Chinese food. Super nice people. Around $15 *Chicken Rice Combo Plate is my usual to go rice plate. Ask for a side of soup (Extra charge but worth it) (They have the popular grilled pork and Short ribs combo rice plates as well- I'm just more of a chicken person lol) *Pho is also pretty solid and not too sweet or salty with decent amount of meat in it. *Banh Mi Sandwich also was decent and good. My brother in law ordered it 2 times in a row when we visited. *Tofu Lemongrass Rice plate was flavorful and delicious. I was able to take home some leftovers. Kiddos like the kids meals. They even have sweet and sour chicken and chicken rice plate for the kids. Around $6 I definitely prefer this place over Cat Sang. It's much more clean and the service on point. It's winter time in Seattle, The rain has finally finished and I'm starving. The only thing on my mind is pho. I stop by Viet phoody, never been. But it's local and I can tell it's authentic. I go inside and it's nice. It's quiet. There's not a lot of people eating inside, but I can tell they receive orders online frequently. One thing and one thing only and that's the pho dac biet. Hits home. Just your normal traditional pho done right. Nothing crazy, but soothing. What's even better Is that nowadays most restaurants charge pho for at least $20-$25 these days. It's crazy, they do add a lot to it, but it's kind of ridiculous especially for a meal I grew up eating at home. Here, they charge minimum like $12-13 for a solid size bowl. It's like the old days again. Amazing value for a warm belly. What's even better is that it came out in under 5min. Love that. I'm coming back. Staff is kind as well. read more

The butter garlic calamari is awesome! We all love butter and garlic and with this dish you cannot go wrong. You actually get A LOT of it so it's a pretty good deal. The chicken fried rice was also really good but nothing to write home about. I'd definitely rate it in the top 20% of fried rices I have tried though. Our visit was back in December during the cold snowy winter. It was late at night and we were hungry and craving for something to warm us with, Pho sounded like something that would always hit the spot. And this was one of the few places that were open. We were immediately greeted with a smile as we walked to a table and the server brought the menu to us. The service was fast and she checked on us a few times to make sure we were doing okay. I got the Grilled Chicken with Grilled Shrimp Skewer Vermicelli Noodle Bowl. The chicken was well-cooked and the shrimps were perfectly grilled. The seasoning was on the mild side, I could have used more flavors in my bowl. So while it was good, I wish I had stuck with regular pho. He got the Pho Tai Nam (eye rounded steak and well-done flank steak) and he enjoyed every bite of it. I tasted the broth and it was definitely amazing. Viet Phoody has been my *go-to* pho for a very long time now; I go here all the time and consistently b/c it's so close to me. I have probably gone there over 20+ times and this past Friday evening 12/19/25 I decided to go b/c of the cold weather. Unfortunately, the large pho combination I ordered came out and there were TWO issues: (1) soup wasn't piping hot as it is usually. I asked for a side bowl of soup to help warm it up. Small bowl didn't help; eventually I asked them to microwave it; my nice waiter said the kitchen insists that it must be due to the bean sprouts and vegetables. This was insulting to my intelligence. (2) way below average meat; just a single piece of tendon; hardly any other meats. Once again the kitchen told my waiter that they put in the same usual amount. *** HIGHLY HIGHLY DISAPPOINTMENT. If I were the owner/chef, as a *CONSISTENT CUSTOMER*...these issues are easily fixed. I am NOT a first time customer making up stories. SO...I told the waiter that I guess I have to find a NEW pho restaurant to go to. It's too bad. BTW, I do not put fault on my waiter (blonde hair), two stars for him; it's out of his hands...but I wished the chef/cook recognized something so obvious instead of making up excuses. I love this place! They're so clean and the pho is bomb. The decorations are so cute and the staff is polite. The broth is pretty flavorful and not crazy salty, the quality of the steak and tendon shows that they don't skimp on costs, and the side basil etc is fresh.
