I've never written a yelp review but this place was so bad I had to write one. Literal ashes in my food. I started out with the wonton soup which was fine but then I started eating the chicken and broccoli with white rice and it tasted so off. There was this grimy- almost sandy/ chalky coating over the chicken and broccoli. Upon further inspection, there was black specs all over the food. Pretty standard Chinese food. The food wasn't as spicy as I had hoped (even though it said spicy) but it was a quick fix. I'm vegetarian so I had tofu as well as the vegetable dumplings. The dumplings were soft and doughy (which I personally liked- they reminded me of bao, so if you don't like thicker dough, don't get these) and filling was good. I was very skeptical when I spotted this restaurant. This is probably one of my favorite spots to order late night. The place is very clean. And when you order take out, it's always on point. Horrible. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I REPEAT, take your business elsewhere! I decided to place an order with them through seamless because the app has a new "perks" feature where you can get money off your orders from a huge selection of restaurants. I wanted Chinese and Yummy 88 happened to have a coupon so I said why not. I always get the same thing from Chinese spots which is fried chicken wings with white rice, I didn't see an option for white rice when I selected it so I called the restaurant. A girl picked up the phone and I asked her how much what I wanted was, she told me $6.19, which was an option for what I wanted but listed under "plain," so I told her I was going to place the order and just write in the instructions that it was meant for wings and white rice. She didn't understand what I meant and kept telling me they didn't have access to online orders so I asked to speak to a manager. MIND YOU, seamless records calls when you place the call through the app so all of this is literally on record. 2 seconds later a man comes on the phone and I explained that there was no option for white rice online, he understood immediately and thanked me for letting him know. He also offered to take my order over the phone but I declined, and before hanging up I confirmed the price of my meal with him once more. $6.19. I placed the order right away and then called back, this time a different number was posted on the app. No response. I called the original number I used the first time, the same girl picked up. I just asked her to confirm that they saw my order and the instructions. She passed the phone off to her manager and this time it was an Asian lady who answered, and she tells me "chicken wing with white rice no 6.19 it 7.19 you give delivery driver dollar" to which I refused obviously because I had just gotten off the phone with the other man. $7.19 is what they charge for chicken wings with fried rice, everyone knows white rice and fried rice are not interchangeable at Chinese spots, fried rice is always an extra charge. I asked for her to put the man I spoke with back on the phone and she refused, telling me that he went on vacation and she was the only manager there. She kept telling me I was lying all the while speaking over me as I was asking her to speak to the man I originally spoke with. Then she passed the phone to another man who barely spoke English telling me I could either pay or my order would be cancelled. I've been on the phone with customer support for 25 minutes and counting trying to get this resolved because as I mentioned before all the calls were recorded so there's literal proof of what happened. In fact, (typing this as I get updates) seamless had to agree to pay the upcharge even though they're literally lying about it. At this point I don't trust them not to spit in my food or do something nasty with it, not even accepting the order. There are so many other Chinese places around here, don't waste your time with this piece of shit establishment. read more
