Since this was a recently purchased used car, we believed this and scheduled the repair for the next day (although we had no stains on our garage floor we were told this type of leaks only happens when the cars in motion...). The next day a mechanic (not anyone who was there the day before) called me personally and told us he would not do the job without any further explaination. Took the car to VW a few weeks later. Car had no leak. Stains had been there for years and weren't recent or related to any problems. I will never go there again and it was a good lesson for both my son and I to witness such unethical scammy business behavior.

They told me that two of the sensors were broken and quoted me $420 with taxes to fix them. I felt that price was extremely high, but I decided to go ahead with it to solve the problem. After they kept my car for a full day, I picked it up on January 12 and noticed that the warning light was still on. I went back immediately, and they told me that it was normal and that the light would turn off on its own. A day passed and nothing changed, so I returned again. They kept the car for another full day and then told me the issue was the spare tire sensor -- something I don't understand how they didn't notice during the first inspection. They then said they couldn't fix it because the spare tire was expired. So at that point, my problem was not fixed and I had already paid over $400. I then took my car to another shop, where they told me something shocking: whoever said it was the rear/spare tire sensor was wrong, because my car does not even have that sensor programmed in the system. They checked all the sensors and confirmed that the real issue was that two sensors installed were not compatible with my car -- the same sensors Firestone had installed and charged me $400 for. I went back to Firestone and spoke with the manager, Gloria -- honestly, the worst manager I have ever dealt with. I don't understand how someone like that represents this business. She asked me to leave the car again so they could "check it." This time they told me the tires had too much air and that they could even explode -- even though THEY were the ones who added the air during the sensor replacement. After removing some air, the problem continued. Then they said they couldn't check the rear tire because they didn't have the proper tools -- unbelievable for a place like this. Later, Gloria came out and insisted that they had already checked it and that the spare tire was the problem. I showed her photos and explained what the other shop found, proving the system doesn't even read that sensor. She then told me I needed a certified letter for them to do anything. I asked for at least a refund since only 8 days had passed (most of which they had my car). After waiting almost another full day, they told me they could do nothing. Unbelievable customer service. A place like this should not treat customers this way. Completely mismanaged, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility or even try to solve the problem.

I reached out to Artem, the owner of Naples Mechanics, and he offered a very fair priced estimate for the AC compressor work that I needed done. It's a shop that is owner operated by Artem and he is quick to respond to online queries and phone calls. He ordered the parts (which he says have a lifetime guarantee) and had me in and out in a couple of days over a busy Holiday weekend. The AC is nice and cold again, the car is running quiet and smooth as ever. All at a cost of about half of what the dealership quoted me. That is literally a couple thousand dollars of savings on this one repair alone! Looking forward to using this garage for all my Volvo servicing needs/repairs going forward. Thanks, Artem! When I returned home I pulled the dipstick and the oil was obviously not fresh. I called to point out the mistake, but they doubled down and the mechanic confirmed it was done. So I found Naples Mechanics and took it there and they confirmed I was correct. While the car was on the lift, the owner also pointed out that the central arm bushings were shot and that the rear shocks were leaking. I had been taking my car to the previous place for the past 5 years, so they had plenty of opportunities to identify these issues (I only do very low mileage each season), so I opted to have the work done by Naples Mechanics and was very pleased with the work done.
