First time coming here today. Glad I did! I called same day and was able to come in for my overdue eye exam. All staff was extremely nice,knowledgeable and very helpful. Explained my insurance coverage very detailed. Dr. Ngo, took his time explaining and making sure I was happy with my eyesight. I've never experienced such a nice and patient dr.! I recently dropped off a pair of old eyeglasses and asked the shop to replace the lenses with my last year (2019) prescription. The cost was $40, very reasonable. Today, my wife picked up the glasses for me, much to my surprise; the lenses were completely out of whack. If I have to guess, instead of 2019, they used the wrong prescription going back several years. My family and I have been going to this place for years. GOOD: + Service: They're really helpful and knowledgeable people. Even if something went awry they addressed it and fixed the situation ASAP. I also got my first pair of contacts with them (side note: I've always had a problem touching my eyeball before--scaryyyy), but they were patient with me during the coaching session and helped me get those little suckers in/out. + Atmosphere: Well-lit clean open space, a small waiting area with 4 seats available + Selections: I guess all good optometry places have lots of variety, but I think this place has a better selection of glasses than sunglasses, though my boyfriend and I are regulars here and we've purchased both glasses and sunglasses from them and we're happy with our selections. + Parking: There's a small lot available in the back, but there's also non-metered street parking available in the front. BAD: - Service: The younger staff tell you they will call you to confirm appointments or when your items come in or something, but sometimes they forget, so it's best to follow up yourself and call them back. /shrug It happens. I've been a patient at Young's Optometry for quite a few years now and I am extremely happy with their service! Dr. Ngo is my optometrist and he is very personable. He has given me great recommendations on at-home eye care and ways to reduce eye strain. The staff have always been courteous both over the phone and in person. I haven't experienced any difficulties with scheduling appointments and the wait time has never exceeded 10-15 minutes even on busy days. On top of that, they have a wide selection of designer frames to choose from. The office is clean and well-kept. The equipment is fairly new and it is apparent that the staff is well trained in infection control procedures between patients. I came here on a Sunday because Rowland heights branch is closed. Super friendly staffs and the service was excellent. Dr. Ngo was very efficient and professional. Dr. Ngo has been my eye doctor for many years and I have always had a great experience with him and his staff. The doctor is so personable and really takes his time with you, never feeling rushed and always feeling as if you are the most important patient. That personal service is what keeps me coming back! I went to Young's optometry for an emergency on a Sunday after sleeping in my contacts and developing red eye. They are one of the few optometry offices open on Sundays which is convenient especially if you have an eye care emergency like myself. Making the appointment was fairly easy and I am thankful they were accommodating in spite of the short notice. I was treated by the male Doctor (I forget his name) he was gentle but did not answer my questions clearly which I was a bit annoyed about. I had several follow-up's after that and on one occasion I was seem by Doctor Young. She was very nice and answered my questions thoroughly. They do have a wide range of frames but most of them aren't quite nice. I didn't personally shop for glasses but my husband did and we didn't find anything worth buying. The staff aren't very helpful when it comes to helping in choosing a frame, so for someone who is indecisive this could be a problem. I do recommend you call your insurance and find out what your benefits are just so that you are informed and know how much of an allowance and discounts you have(this will eliminate any confusion when purchasing eyewear)I also didn't feel as welcome as I have felt in other optometry/retail settings. Overall, my experience with this optometry office was ok, nothing special. read more

This rating is based on my experience with a glasses adjustment. I recently got 2 pairs of glasses in the mail and both fit a little loose. I called Young's Optometry and asked if they could help adjust my glasses bought elsewhere and they said yes. I arrived and a very nice young man whose name I didn't catch assessed my fit and adjusted my glasses for free. Very courteous and quick. I totally thought I would be required to pay a small fee but he said as long as no parts were required there would be nothing charge. In the past I tried to do the same at Target Optometry for glasses I actually bought there and I felt they didn't take much time or care with the adjustment and were too busy/impatient to be courteous. This place is at good as it gets because they really care about customer service. I ordered a pair of glasses and it had defective lens (not their fault because it was sent from my insurance lab somewhere else). I went in to tell them about my problem and had to drive back to college that same night. Robert, I believe, worked extra hard fix the problem in their own lense lab just so I can take my glasses back to school on time. I just want to say thank you for that. read more

The people at this store are not honest and are out to get as much money from you as they can. Read on... I had been to 2 other optometry stores but they had to order the piece for my glasses, These other 2 stores check my VSP insurance to see what it would cost to fix or replace my frames so I already knew what I would be paying. When I went into this store, the sales person first states they have nothing like what I needed, yet the frames he just put in front of me had the exacted frame. I stated this is it. How long to replace my frame I asked, He stated he had to replace my lens too. I asked why? he stated VSP only allow him to replace frame only if he replace lens as well, I stated why would you say that to me, I am not stupid, why would you try to screw me like that? Then he change his story, stating the only way he could change my frame is if he had the prescription, I stated are you serious? Then he told me to go somewhere else. I told him this is why your store is empty; you try to screw people too much. I did go back to tell them I would be reporting them to VSP and now he change his story again, telling me it was a miss understanding. I said there was no miss understanding. I need my frame replace and you wanted to charge for lens as well. I will report them to my insurance company VSP read more

my husband got his glasses here and it was all wrong with the lens and frame. the staff never told us if he went from a smaller frame to bigger frame it might not work out for him. they said they will redo the glasses with the old focus from his old glasses(cause the focus his staff measure was all wrong)and they said the redo is not a guarantee it will work. the rude manager said it is 80% it will work thats not good enough when you paid $200.00 for the lens. we wanted to cancel the order and he said we cant cancel the order cause he said so and the rude manager he hang up on me. do not go here it is choppy shady work they are just out to get your money and don't care about customer services or quality of their work read more
