M18. Genmaicha Latte with red bean
    Katherine G.

$10 boba is kind of insane, but I must say that my drink was quite good. I marked this spot after seeing that they had genmaicha, as I've never actually seen that on a boba menu before. I absolutely love that flavor, and knew I had to give it a try at least once. I got the genmaicha latte with soy milk, and also added red bean to it. The flavor of the tea was strong, it was the perfect balance of sweetness, and the red bean really tied it all together nicely. To be fair the drink is quite large, but I still felt like the price was a little ridiculous for a single drink. The inside was also really cute and well decorated, so that was a plus! A nice spot to sit and catch up with friends

Somewhat of a hidden gem, and a shame I didn't come in earlier. I was very impressed by their selection of tea. This is NOT your average boba shop - it's a high-end modern tea cafe. You can tell their tea leaves are of the highest quality. They have rare and diverse selections, and even (expensive) tea leaves and tea sets for sale. The interior space is just WOW. It's very cozy and elegant. I feel like I'm in Taiwan! The biggest cons are their lack of food/snack availability and no wifi. It's easy to miss the place from the looks on the outside, and if this was located in a busier area it would get SO much more business.

Ngl this place can roast better than kendrick did to drake. The more roasted the better this goes for the tea as well. My boi tried to shoot his shot at the abg staff but got hard rejected due to his tech bro fit but hey it's a nicely designed spot. Place is pretty traditional but not a hard sit down and play board games vibes. Bulk approved

    S3 Taro Milk Smoothie

Such an awesome boba shop! Loved the taro smoothie here. It has real taro chunks so you know they're using real ingredients to make it. The only downside was I thought it was a little sweet even with 0% sugar so maybe they're unable to adjust sweetness for smoothies? Looking forward to coming back to try their other drinks!

Really good boba! The recommendations from staff were really helpful. The cafe is a cute little spot with fun decor. Would definitely come back!

I will forever love young tea. Loved it when it was in ID, continue to love it in Wallingford (maybe a little more because street parking is easier in Wallingford). The place was pretty empty when I entered, and they originally have a couple self ordering screens but they were out of service at the time. The people working were super kind and patient while I pondered on what to get. I decide on the peach oolong tea with grass jelly. I don't like my drinks that sweet, I usually get 25/30% sugar, but young tea's drinks are very tea forward, so 50% is perfect for me. The grass jelly was okay, didn't have much grass jelly flavor, so was a bit disappointed on that part, but overall still a good drink!

Still one of my favorites boba shops near Seattle. It was my first time visiting this store, and how I've missed the Rose Green Milk Tea drink since the location in International District closed almost 2 years ago. You can't go wrong with any drinks here, especially if you appreciate authentic and strong tea. Inside is quiet and clean, and has a few high tables to sit around. It was a pleasant surprise to meet the owner Caroline at the FREE tea tasting event on Sundays from 1-4PM. I tried 2 types of Oolong, both were great tea. And I was so happy to be reunited with the Rose Green Milk Tea. I'm excited to hear the Bellevue store is scheduled to open later this year, around summer time.

I used to not like taro at bubble tea places but I am now obsessed when REAL taro is used. On their Instagram they showed the process of making their taro smoothie and they used real taro which is why it's not that being purple color, rather it's white. I thought about it all week and made my way there. This taro smoothie is now probably my favorite drink here and maybe top favorite drink at a bubble tea spot now. Wow so good!! If you're someone like me who doesn't like things too sweet, this is perfect. So happy to have discovered this drink! It's got a creamy and subtly sweet. It has little taro chunks in it. They also have a dispenser to sample their peach oolong tea which is one of my top favorites as well. Get it with the sea salt Crema or on its own and it's delicious. My third recent favorite is the genmaicha latte which has the roasted and nutty green tea flavor. It is much heartier I'm flavor than the tea alone. There's a good amount of seating space in here and they're quick to make your order. There is a self serve screen too

10.11.24 - classic milk tea and high mountain oolong milk tea

My family and I were in Seattle last week for a dear friend's wedding and they actually had a number of drinks from Young Tea available at the reception. My husband and I opted for their signature milk tea and the high mountain oolong milk tea. Other places can really water down their signature milk tea, but this had a strong flavor - both the tea and the sweetened condensed milk which blended in quite nicely. This was our first time trying high mountain oolong milk tea and we really enjoyed it. It had a more subtle flavor than the signature, but was still really good. The amount of boba in both drinks was just perfect - not too little, not too much, and a good consistency as well. We don't live in the area, but would definitely come back if we visited again.

Upon entering, I was surprised at their giant variety of teas and snacks. I got a few different drinks and overall the tea flavor was pretty strong. Their drinks run on the less sweet side so I may get regular sweetness in the future. I was also surprised they had Taiwanese tea eggs so I got one. The egg was marinated fully and really delicious! Stop by if you want a great selection of tea drinks!

Young Tea is one of the best tea shops I've ever tried, and easily the best in Seattle. I've tried many of their milk tea, which are all excellent. The tea flavor is very strong. They're also less sugary than standard milk teas. The inside is nice with some small tables for seating. They also offer a selection of tea products, including some specialty tea bags, tea pots, and tea cakes that are interesting to look at.

Pretty decent new milk tea spot! It's pretty authentic and artisan- more of a spot for tea connoisseurs than people looking for a dessert milk tea. It runs pretty conservative on sweetness level so I would stick with 100% unless you're looking for a stronger tea flavor. Also, the boba leaves something to be desired, it was hard and kind of plain. My drink came out pretty quickly after ordering and there's a kiosk if you don't feel like interfacing with the baristas!

    M17. Hojicha Latte
    Sarah L.

I feel like this place is so underrated! I've tried a lot of boba spots in Seattle, and this place is def in my top 5. I'm a huge fan of hojicha lattes, and I've never seen hojicha boba milk tea in a menu before until coming across this spot. Their tea flavor is strong and you can tell it's good quality tea. They have so many drink varieties and so many unique flavors as well. Check them out :)

Food & drink: (3/5) I've been a loyal lover of the milk cream strawberry since my very first visit, but for some reason it just isn't as good as I remember it being. I would say it's just fine now that I've noticed that they've gotten more watered down. I do enjoy that they still use fresh fruit, but would probably only come back if I was invited by a friend. My partner still really likes his usual which is the mango pomelo sago. I think it's one of their best sellers and is a pretty safe order if you don't know what to get. We didn't get any this time, but I do like their mochi. If you've acquired the taste, the durian mochi is solid. I ultimately ordered an OG milk tea with honey boba (I was also excited to learn that they use nondairy creamer in their milk teas! I've noticed many other establishments in the area do not). My only critique is that they should add a 30% sweetness option to their sugar adjustments. Otherwise, it was perfect! My new boba spot for sure!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #107…read more I've visited the BobaLust in Lynnwood before and was not impressed. I decided to give them another try, this time at the U District location. Bobalust opens up pretty late for a boba shop - most places start at noon or earlier, but for some reason BobaLust opens at 1PM. This particular location is depressingly dark inside with black painted walls and dark decor. That's a really interesting aesthetic choice (and not my favorite). OG Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice w/ Honey Boba ($6.50) - This tea has a strange harsh artificial taste. It's cloyingly sweet and tastes of a very overwhelming kind of flowery and fruity flavor. It doesn't seem to be from the tea and instead may be from either creamer or sweetener. It's overpowering, making the drink very difficult to sip on for my tastes. On top of this strange flavor is a heavy non dairy creamer aroma. It's added in such high quantities that the drink is thickened to almost a cream-like consistency, and has a slight bit of grittiness on the tongue. Even at 50% ice, there's a ton of ice in this drink. After drinking a bit, I went home and added in around 6 ounces of English Breakfast tea and it tempered things down enough to be pleasant. The boba isn't great either. They claim it's honey boba but while the pearls are very heavily sweetened in marinade, I can't detect any honey aroma whatsoever. The texture of the pearls are firm and almost gummy rather than being soft, chewy, and bouncy. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 I'm still not impressed with this chain. There are way better options in the area for basic milk tea and boba. BobaLust remains in my bottom five boba shops in the Greater Seattle Area out of approximately 100 shops. Bathrooms - One mixed gender bathroom with two stalls.
