Since coming to Seattle, I've been on the hunt for good boba spots comparable to socal boba chains. Young Tea is one of my favorite spots in Seattle. The drinks are high quality and consistently good. This day, we got the Matcha Latte with 80% sweet and boba! The drinks at Young Tea tend to be less sweet than other boba chains, so lower your sweetness with caution. You can tell that they use high quality matcha from the color and the taste. As for the boba, this day it was a little on the harder side :( From the past few times I've gotten Young Tea, their boba tends to be more inconsistent in texture, but I think the drink compensates! If you're ever in the Wallingford area, you should stop by! They also do online ordering through the Clover app and are working on another location in Bellevue! The parking can be a little tough at this location, so doing online ordering is definitely the way to go! read more

Young Tea is definitely the best bubble tea in the Fremont/ Wallingford area. That isn't just because it is the only bubble tea spot in the area, but it really holds its own despite the dearth of options. Young Tea uses high quality tea and fresh ingredients, bringing their drinks to a whole different level. My favorite drink has become the mango green milk tea. It has this delicious real fruit flavor with some fruit chunks paired with a fragrant green tea flavor. It reminds me of an elevated Sharetea version (which used to be my favorite for a mango green milk tea). I also enjoy how their sweetness levels are more to my taste. I usually get the lowest sweetness option at other places and still find it too sweet, but here the 50% is perfect for my taste. The only meh thing is that I find their boba to be just okay. The texture is good in my mind, but it lacks a bit of flavor. With that said, I still like it enough that I still get it. read more

My love for young tea started with the international district location so that will always have a spot in my heart. This location in Wallingford is closer to me so I will probably be here more often :) Decor is super simple and elegant with all the tea time accessories. And all the tea they have is exceptional. Everything is so fresh here! First time checking out Young Tea since they moved to Wallingford. Their space is super classy and nice! Quite a change from the old Starbucks that occupied the space prior. Went to Young Tea's Wallingford location (soft opening from Dec 16-18 2021). Their details for the soft opening are on their instagram! I love their ID location so I was so excited to try their new location. The inside decor is so cute, and the vibes are perfect for a tea house! It's much bigger inside than their ID location. The cashiers are always super nice at the ID location, and the same ones were here for the Wallingford soft opening. I got the Royal Milk Tea this time. I asked about the differences between their black milk teas and this is what the woman told me: -signature - ceylon base, very light taste -royal - more full and strong black tea flavor -assam - assam base instead of ceylon 10/10 would recommend coming here once they fully open! read more

My friend and I signed up for a private tea tasting and WOW what an experience. Caroline the owner is a wealth of information, and the hour flew by. Caroline is passionate about healthy eating and Young Tea only uses real ingredients (no fake tea flavoring or cremora) in their bubble tea and the highest quality tea. New boba shop in downtown wallingford serving freshly brewed teas with homemade syrups. Because their syrups are homemade, their drinks tend to be less sweet than other boba shops. Interior is very clean minimalistic, with a few bar tables and a bench (not much seating). Price is on the higher side compared to other spots, but ingredients tasted higher quality. I tried the Hojicha Latte 30% sugar with aiyu jelly, and regretted not getting it at 50% sugar. I did see them make the drink with real Hojicha however which I appreciated. Really good boba and their ingredients are all made in house, even the toppings. Their teas are unique and have different flavor profiles. I recommend the high mt. oolong and the iron buddha!! I always loved young tea when I was in college at UW, and on my recent visit was surprised to find that they had moved to Wallingford! Their new space is lovely and more spacious than their old place in the ID, but the same friendly service and delicious beverages remain. This is a family run local small business, and the owner is often there with a friendly smile! Their tea selection is vast and they'll make recommendations if you're overwhelmed. Was happy to find this tea place while in Wallingford for a haircut. Like many of the boba places in Seattle this place uses a large touch screen menu for order. They are frustrating and don't give a great customer experience. It also makes you feel bothersome if you are trying to ask questions. Bummer. They interior is similar to other tea shops, and fairly welcoming. The drinks we ordered, chai milk tea, and the Taro smoothie where both subpar. The tarp drink has basically no flavor. The chia add on for 75¢ was nice, but please at least hydrate them! No one wants brittle shards in their teeth. The chai was better, but not particularly flavorful. Their lava drink has the best boba pearls I've ever tasted, hands-down. Super chewy, full of subtle black sugar sweetness - the drink could literally last me hours if I just sat there and nursed it. It's absurd. Combine that with the ability to get genmaicha, hojicha, and matcha lattes as well as really good smoothies and I think we have the best boba shop in all of Seattle. I love several of them, but this one has the best flavors AND boba, so it's an easy call. I'll only knock them on the street parking, because parking in this neighborhood is always somewhat annoying. I was an avid visitor at the chinatown location and wow the inside of this new location is such an upgrade. They have the cutest tea pot display, a bookshelf with various cups and pots available to purchase. At the cash register, they also have tea leaves that can be bought. I love that you can actually taste the strong tea flavor and it's not too sweet! We both were recommended to get 80% since it's not overtly sweet in general. My friend got her usual, "Iron Buddha." They have a "plus" version of this with winter melon added which we did not try. My favorite is the hojicha latte because of the strong roasted flavor but I opted to try the new "genmaicha latte" which is matcha + roasted brown rice. It was a little grainy in texture but I didn't mind at all! Total was a little pricey but that is expected with the overall trend these days. $16+ for two teas including tip. We will be coming back for sure as it's in a great location, street parking is widely available, nice service, and of great quality. read more

Two employees helped me load the car with the product. My friend had returned the containers to Young Tea today and they are playing the blame game with her. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Young Tea's new location is a big visual upgrade over the original, but the care put into what you're served remains joyfully the same. There is no Bubble Tea place in Seattle that cares about serving good tea like Catherine and Young Tea do. Every ingredient is sourced by someone who knows good tea and wants to serve more than a vessel for sugar. Fair warning, if you like Bubble Tea already, then going here might ruin the experience everywhere else for life. There's no stone unturned in remaining what quality can mean in Bubble Tea - from high quality tea brewed in house to sweeteners made from brown sugar also in house in order to stay clear of cheap HFCS to buying only the top shelf tapioca. Had Young Tea years ago in Chinatown and wasn't impressed then, but decided to give this new location a try. Place is clean, service was decent and quick, good sized drinks. However the milk teas are disappointing. Ordered two drinks with standard sugar, milk, ice, etc. The signature milk tea was watered down and didn't taste like much of anything. The Hojicha latte had more flavor, but tasted boring and lacked the nutty, toasty boldness that is typical of this green tea. Also tasted watered down. Didn't taste terrible, but didn't taste good either. Didn't finish my drink. Will not be coming back. 2.5 stars-one for cleanliness, one for quick service, half a star for the drinks. read more

We were happy to come by this place on Yelp as we are boba addicts. The pictures looked great and they have a wide menu of choices. We had to park a couple blocks away in the residential area so parking may be difficult to find during after work, busy hours. The shop was as pretty as the pictures with modern decor mixed with antique tea pots and cups. We were quickly helped by the staff and they answered all of my questions about the menu. We waited between 5 to 10 minutes for our drinks which was slower than most boba shops especially considering we were the only customers. No big deal. I decided to get a strawberry smoothie which ended up tasting like a strawberry milkshake with ice cream. It tasted good but I was kind of let down as I expected a really fresh strawberry taste like some of my go-to boba spots.. not a milkshake. I also got the tri-layer rose milk tea which looked super cool on the Yelp photos and menu pictures. Unfortunately it was all show. I ordered it 75% sweet like I do for all of my boba drinks (sometimes even 50%) but this tasted like I was drinking straight water with the lightest hint of rose.. huge let down. My partner got the signature milk tea which tasted like dishwater.. the last drink we had was the jasmine milk tea which was surprisingly the best one. It had a very floral note which is exactly how I love my jasmine tea. I have high expectations for jasmine tea and this one checked all of the boxes. The floral flavor makes it so that you don't have to rely on sugar for taste. If I do come back, this is probably the only drink I would return for. This is my favorite boba place in Seattle. I've had the rose milk tea, jasmine milk tea, and genmaicha. They have a strong tea flavor which is my preference. Their taro smoothie is delicious as well.
