Mango Sago Smoothie
Arielle M.

*toppings are extra, one size only, about $7/drink I'd say when we showed up on a Friday night it was relatively busy. We waited around 15 for to drinks since a family ordered before us. Got the sago instead of boba (less chewy and less sweet but similar mouth feel) with the mango smoothie and it was to die for ! 100% sweetness was not overly sweet and it had a real mango flavor. Smooth and not too thick consistency made it easy to drink. There's a ton of games to play while you wait and places to sit. It's a self order and only one screen. Overall bright and family friendly.

Lemon Ginger Tea Special

Came in with the thought that I'd be in and out in less than 10 mins, but it took 25 minutes for this one drink even though it wasn't busy. I saw online they had some pretty good options for hot tea(wanted the longan jujube) but they only offered ginger or ginger lemon which was disappointing. Ordered the ginger lemon in the end and it's alright. I wouldn't get it again. Their space is quite and the experience is contactless. There's a bit of seating inside and they have games as well.

I visited YiFang for the first time in Milpitas after a friend recommended it as one of their favorite boba shops. This was just a couple of months after the world came out of the Covid lockdowns, so while I received a drink that was honestly pretty bad, I thought that perhaps it was a one off issue. I was still hesitant on giving the UW location a try, but decided to head there anyways. This location has a huge screen right in front used to order. They charge an extra 30 cent fee for orders under $10 (displayed very prominently on the kiosk). Honestly I think the screen is way too big and very awkward to use. Earl Grey Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6) - This drink does not taste like Earl Grey at all. No hint of bergamot whatsoever. It's heavy on the creamer, not so heavy that it overwhelms everything else, but very noticeably on the creamy side. Taste-wise, it's either black tea rather than Earl Grey, or it's so watered down that all the bergamot flavor is gone. The creamer is not the issue. It *does* taste like black tea, a little hollow in fragrance, but it's there. On a positive note, half sweet is the definition of not-too-sweet and less ice is also pretty good, cooling the drink down entirely but leaving no ice chips at end. The boba is strangely rough on the exterior, with a bit of stickiness, but lots of microbumps that really stand out when moved across the tongue. There's a nice chew and a nice bounce, but that roughness feels a little off putting to me. In addition, some of the pearls tended to clump together into larger masses, making it a bit more difficult to separate and suck up the straw. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 I'll be honest - if I had ordered the black milk tea and gotten this drink, it would likely have been a 3.5/5. But I ordered the Earl Grey, and the drink I got tasted nothing like Earl Grey. I usually don't mention interior of the store in my reviews, but I have to say - this shop is filthy. Dirt all over the ground, random wooden pallets and boxes upon boxes of boba supplies past the seating area. It's almost like a warehouse. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for each gender.

At this YiFang location you have the ability to order with a cashier or submit your own order. I came in with a big-ish group, so we just each individually ordered through the self-checkout monitor they had to avoid holding up a line since it gave us more time to look over the menu. The little YiFang drink shaped egg waffles are so cute!

Mango pomelo

it's pretty good, standard boba that is not too sweet not artificial tasting. Tried the mango pomelo drink hoping for a rich mango sago dessert type of flavor, but was just normal.

YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea is conveniently located next to Morsel while waiting for my order I decided to skip another cup of coffee and try a fruit tea. The ordering and customizing process is extremely easy as there is an electronic menu available to place and pay for your order. Customer service was ideal and my two teas were prepared within minutes. My 2 year old loves the YiFang fruit tea because it's filled with sliced apples. I greatly appreciate the ability to reduce or omit the sugar altogether my Grapefruit lemon tea was perfect. If you're in the area and enjoy refreshing tea filled with fresh fruit I highly recommend YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea!!

Yifang Fruit Tea and Taro Milk Tea

The Fruit Tea here was very refreshing! I had the YiFang Fruit Tea - at first the little black seeds confused me, but they were kind of fun to crunch on. The fruit slices were fresh enough to want to eat after I finished drink the tea. Unfortunately, my friend was not a fan of the Taro Milk tea, so we'll stick to fruit teas moving forward (especially since it's in the shop name). Also, the paper straws are great for the environment, but were difficult to puncture the lids and disintegrated while trying to get to the add ons at the bottom.

I initially tried this place in California and liked their mango pamelo sago. When I found it in Chinatown, the taste didn't disappoint. We also tried the taro sago drink; if you're a big taro fan, go for it, but otherwise, I recommend their mango taro.

Solid place for getting fruit teas in Seattle. Menu is straight-forward and has a good selection of tea drinks to chose from. I also like how clean it is on the inside. Not usually my go-to place for boba, but I do get cravings to go here once and a while.

Mango Fruit Tea

My favorite drink is the Mango Pomelo Sago! It reminds me of the Hong Kong style dessert that I eat during the summer, but in smoothie form. Evidently, YiFang offers unique drink combinations and flavors. I'm curious to try other drinks on the menu, but they can be pricey depending on the drinks and toppings. I'd estimate about $5-$7 per drink. This particular location in University District is on NE 50th St and University Way NE. There is available back-in street parking. During this COVID-19 pandemic, indoor seating is closed, so I recommend ordering online in advance to avoid waiting as this place can be busy since it's in the University District. I was told by workers to avoid using the OrderToGo platform as they're phasing it out at this location. If you visit the YiFang Pacific Northwest Website, this is the link they have for online ordering.

Note that YiFang IS OPEN during COVID for TAKEOUT. However, this review is for before COVID standards were enforced. YiFang deserves an update since my last review. In the months after opening, they have become more efficient with the ordering process. They're not super fast, but I only wait around 15 minutes now. They also make the brown sugar milk all day, instead of just after 3:30pm which is a huge plus. The brown sugar milk is definitely their best drink here; it's rich, creamy, and has a very strong brown sugar taste (even stronger than Ding Tea's Monster Latte). You can't adjust the sweetness though. Also the drink is around $6-$7 so it's definitely on the higher-end as far as pricing gies. Ive tried their Yakult Mountain Tea as well, but it was too florally and pineapple-tasting for my liking. I haven't been here since the virus outbreak, but my friends have been ordering drinks to-go here so I know that they are open. I just don't know what their safety procedures are and how well they are adhering to them now that King County is in Phase 2 of reopening. Overall: 3.5/5 for drinks, 3/5 for service

Taro Milk Tea
Rikki G.

Disappointed in this spot. I was excited to try Taiwanese boba tea but the Taro that I ordered was made with fruit extracts... orange colored ... not taro / Ube (look at the attached image). The pulp texture was just so overwhelming and unsatisfying. Overly priced $8 drink thrown away after the first sip. Just isn't my type of tea. Additionally, their efforts to mitigate covid was nonexistent. You place your order on a touch screen up front - it is not sanitized between each use and no hand sanitizer available for pre / after use. There is no signage to keep waiting guests distanced. The staff is safe and behind the counter passing drinks along but all waiting area guests are exposed.

Huong L.

We went here when we were in the area and thought it was pretty standard. The fruit drink was good and it has really fresh fruits in there like apples, oranges, etc. The price of the drinks are a little on the higher end in my opinion. With all the bubble tea places in the area, its really hard to stand out and to me, this place was just standard. One nice thing though is that they use reusable straws

Food & drink: (3/5) I've been a loyal lover of the milk cream strawberry since my very first visit, but for some reason it just isn't as good as I remember it being. I would say it's just fine now that I've noticed that they've gotten more watered down. I do enjoy that they still use fresh fruit, but would probably only come back if I was invited by a friend. My partner still really likes his usual which is the mango pomelo sago. I think it's one of their best sellers and is a pretty safe order if you don't know what to get. We didn't get any this time, but I do like their mochi. If you've acquired the taste, the durian mochi is solid. The boba is the perfect chewy texture - not too hard or too soft. I did not try any of their sandwiches (there's so many other yummy options near by!) but it seems like they were selling at a decent clip. If I had to identify a weakness, it would be that a lot of times it seems like they have supply chain issues. They did not have lactose-free milk when I visited the past few times. I ultimately ordered an OG milk tea with honey boba (I was also excited to learn that they use nondairy creamer in their milk teas! I've noticed many other establishments in the area do not). It was delicious! It is more tea-forward and tastes like an earl grey. The boba pearls are perfectly chewy as well. My only critique is that they should add a 30% sweetness option to their sugar adjustments. Otherwise, it was perfect! My new boba spot for sure!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #107…read more I've visited the BobaLust in Lynnwood before and was not impressed. I decided to give them another try, this time at the U District location. Bobalust opens up pretty late for a boba shop - most places start at noon or earlier, but for some reason BobaLust opens at 1PM. This particular location is depressingly dark inside with black painted walls and dark decor. That's a really interesting aesthetic choice (and not my favorite). OG Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice w/ Honey Boba ($6.50) - This tea has a strange harsh artificial taste. It's cloyingly sweet and tastes of a very overwhelming kind of flowery and fruity flavor. It doesn't seem to be from the tea and instead may be from either creamer or sweetener. It's overpowering, making the drink very difficult to sip on for my tastes. On top of this strange flavor is a heavy non dairy creamer aroma. It's added in such high quantities that the drink is thickened to almost a cream-like consistency, and has a slight bit of grittiness on the tongue. Even at 50% ice, there's a ton of ice in this drink. After drinking a bit, I went home and added in around 6 ounces of English Breakfast tea and it tempered things down enough to be pleasant. The boba isn't great either. They claim it's honey boba but while the pearls are very heavily sweetened in marinade, I can't detect any honey aroma whatsoever. The texture of the pearls are firm and almost gummy rather than being soft, chewy, and bouncy. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 I'm still not impressed with this chain. There are way better options in the area for basic milk tea and boba. BobaLust remains in my bottom five boba shops in the Greater Seattle Area out of approximately 100 shops. Bathrooms - One mixed gender bathroom with two stalls.
