Is provided in your choosing of one of their many teas. They take the time in giving you examples and ideas of their product. Once, you chosen; Provided to each person, their personal tea pot, tea cup, a pitcher, an a thermos of hot water. I have never left a bad review, but this was such a horrible experience, I was not served for 15 minutes. Very awkward aswell with only one worker who was serving another table. This felt like a tourist trap. Over priced tea, which was very mediocre(wish the tea was actually served hot, not lukewarm). I would NEVER come here AGAIN or even RECOMMEND. read more

Such a pleasant surprise to find this in Arcadia! To start off though, this is first and foremost a tea shop, not a typical boba shop. To explain... I did my quick search on yelp for "boba," and stumbled across Yoshantea. When I walked in, to my surprise, there was no booth to order all manner of sugary concoctions, no trendy plastic Ikea tables crowding the room, and no high school or college kids sitting around getting hyped on sugar and chatting. Instead, I saw open space, nice wooden tables set up for traditional tea tastings, and a clean display of tea canisters and sets on the side wall. The owners were very friendly, and explained how the tea is brewed fresh on the spot. Then they proceeded to very carefully triple-brew my tea, and mixed in condensed milk to complement the tea. I ordered it cold (no ice) to go, and it was served in a to-go cup ($4). The taste was also completely contradictory to what I expected. Rather than some 500 calorie cup that leaves me satisfied and stuffed, the crafted drink left me feeling refreshed and hungrier. As a note though, I disagree that it should be served or drunk in a standard size togo cup with a straw. On my first large strawful, there was little taste... mainly because I was expecting a burst of sugar and cream, possibly partly because I asked for the drink cooled, and icing may have diluted the flavor. However, when I realized that I should be slowly sipping the drink, I could taste the delicious quality and care of the brew. In fact, on coming home, I poured it into a suitably sized cup and it was much more enjoyable, though still a little light. Aside from the serving medium, a few other cons would be that the English may be a little harder to understand and some aesthetic refinements are still needed to give off a complete tea room feel. Overall, highly recommend this place for the quality of its tea, especially for enjoying in store or purchasing. Also would love to see this wonderfully unique business grow, and would love to come back for a tasting! read more

This is a cute place with a storefront to purchase teas and a dining/seating area in the back. There are about 3 big tables (seats 6-8 people), so call ahead if you want to bring a large group. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the different types of tea and walked us through the menu. Most of us ordered the DIY tray that comes with a teapot filled with dry tea leaves, a smelling cup, a cooling type of cup (?), and a small cup to drink the tea. Each set came with a note card describing how long to soak the tea for. I loved the interactive experience! This is a rather quiet place so I recommend coming here with a small group. I was looking for an easy, nearby place to meet up with my friend and have a good conversation without a lot of noise or distraction and yoshantea ended up being the perfect elegant spot. I received a the High Mountain tea as a Christmas gift this past Christmas and I have been drinking it quite often - for a while I got so addicted to it that I couldn't go for one day without drinking it! The thing about this tea is that it cannot be overbrewed and the tea should - no, MUST be enjoyed slowly. Have the store workers explain the proper way to drink your tea and it will increase your tea drinking experience 1000x!! The flavor is subtle and light, so at first you might not think much of it, but over time, you realize how it's way better than other teas. I actually didn't notice until I started drinking this tea regularly and went out to drink tea at other restaurants or boba tea houses. I was shocked at their teas' appalling lack of flavors. -_- I swear I did not intend to become a tea snob, but I can't stand drinking other teas anymore. So...I'm a full blown Yoshantea addict now. And though it's not a cheap addiction, at least it's a healthy one :) My other favorite besides High Mountain is Da Yu Ling. This is not fast food tea - this is definitely a slow-down-and-relax sort of tea. So happy it's in my hometown :) read more

For anyone reading the reviews of this shop and getting excited to swing by to grab a drink... this place currently does not possess a permit to sell drinks. They are in the process of moving locations and trying to get rid of their tea products. There is a buy one get one half off deal going on until November. I came by last week on a Friday afternoon. The front door was locked but a sweet taiwanese ah-yi hurriedly came to open the door for me and greet me with a warm smile. She got by with English but was definitely more comfortable speaking to me in mandarin. Ah-yi, who was not the business owner but a helper, told me that they're not selling drinks anymore. So, I bought tea instead. The cheapest options are $30 and they go up to about $80+. With the buy one get one off deal, they are definitely a good price and a nice gift. Ah-yi taught me how to brew the teas and also included a measurement scoop to go with one of the loose leaf teas I purchased. Overall, I enjoyed doing business with them. Lovely service. read more

Hi yelpers, hope you will be glad to know that this location is not closed permanently. It is only temporary. They need to close in waiting for a city license after making possible change to the kitchen counter or some sort per city's instructions. The process is slow as they need to go through all the procedures to get it done. City is not familiar with the material and setup from the headquarters in Taiwan. I have visited their headquarters before and they got the finest tea and tea art! In order to become a chain location the owner has to ship everything from overseas get the entire setup like how Starbucks setup their chain location. Wow, this definitely isn't your typical boba shop. They serve and sell authentic teas here along with tea sets. I got the Heavy Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with light sugar. This was super refreshing on a hot day. You could definitely taste the tea notes along with the condensed milk used in this drink. It wasn't overpoweringly sweet either. My mom got the Li Shan Oolong Tea. What surprised me was that even without sugar, the tea didn't taste bitter at all. It was so refreshing and light! That's when you know you're drinking some qualitea. They brew the tea fresh to order so there is some wait time. But I don't mind waiting for such a service. Definitely would return again. Thanks Yelp, for this new spot. I parked in the back and opened the door from the back entrance. The workers looked up in surprise and I asked if it was okay for me to enter this way. They said yes, but when I asked them later as I left, they indicated I should have walked around to the front door entrance. So, suggestion number one--put some curtains up to make an entrance for people to enter from the back room. I noticed the bathroom is there as well. Make it easy for the customer to come in and feel welcome. Anyways, I walk to the front area and take-in the presentation. Loose leaf tea is available for sale in colorful and pretty canisters. Tables set-up with nice tea presentation sets. Where is the menu? Oh, on the wall. Got it. The menu is small and the guy is super friendly trying to explain it all to me. I was kinda hoping to have some hot tea and a place to read and relax but this is more of a place to buy tea to make at home. I ordered the number 5, which is some tea that is hard to get due to the high elevation. A canister will cost $135. The drink was like $10? Fine with me. When I was in Taiwan, I remember getting some very exclusive high end tea for that price or more so okay. The guy was super sweet and tried to make conversation. He also explained about the shop, the tea, how he travels to Taiwan to get the tea and works directly with the manufacturers. He even gave me a free cookie to try and it was pretty good:) I'll be back when I want a nice tea to-go. I really wish it was also a place for me to chill and drink tea. Maybe they will change the concept. If you are a tea drinker at home, I highly recommend this place for you. They currently have a special--buy one get 40% off. There's also some really pretty tea sets but the ones I liked were about $900-$1300. I would recommend putting that stuff in a case for display so nothing is damaged but still pretty to look at and available for purchase. That way you have that space for more tables for people to hang out and drink tea. Look at some of your competition to see what they're doing. Let's see what happens here. read more
