My party of 3 decided to check out Yosemite falls cafe in Clovis for an early weekday dinner.

Do not go here. I ordered a (to-go) wedge salad with grilled chicken. Lady told me it would be 20 minutes. I had time to kill so I went to hobby lobby across the way. Gave them 30 minutes to be exact. Once I got there the gal up front took my payment and said it would be right out. Then asked me if I wanted a free drink. (which I thought was weird) i should have should have asked for alcohol. Lol. So I waited and waited and waited and waited!! An additional 30 MINUTES!! Finally I walked up and asked what the deal was. No new reply besides, it would be right out. Finally my salad came out and said she was sorry that my order was never placed. Salad was wilted chicken was over cooked. If they were just honest I would have never posted this bad review. Bottom line the employees don't care about customer service or how to keep a customer coming back. read more

I was a regular customer at this restaurant and have always been satisfied with the service and the food. Today, however, the experience was different when I went there for breakfast. There was mold on my toast. Really, I couldn't finish my meal since I considered the quality of the rest of the food. The manager discounted the meal, but didn't comp either mine or my companion's, who had barely eaten and also couldn't eat after the mold was discovered. I thought it was unaccomodating of the manager to make us pay for meals that were not eaten. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

We took the Aged P to birthday dinner here at her request. We've eaten here before and I remember being more impressed then. This time, not so much, even though our server was fantastic. The "blooming onion" appetizer was pretty vile, and the dipping sauce was far spicier than I can tolerate. The steak in the sizzling steak appetizer was tough, but the flavor was good -- especially the mushrooms. The meat on my rib order fell off the bone because the meat was so dried out it never stood a chance. The BBQ sauce was a bit spicier than I prefer. The side order of beans was way too spicy. The dinner rolls were great, but they came with some sort of whipped butter that had something spicy in it. Come on, guys! Aged P's chicken-fried steak looked huge, and she enjoyed it immensely, as she did the mashed potatoes. I tried a bite but wasn't impressed. read more

We used to enjoy going to the Clovis location. But it seems after opening up from COVID, they have gone down hill. .. We had St. Patrick's Day dinner there last night, The service was bad, the food was bad, the overall experience was bad. There were people partying in the bar, and it seemed the waiters were only interested in playing with them. One of us ordered toast with her meal,, she never got it,, one of us ordered the Reuben and the meat was huge hunks, not sliced like a normal Reuben. We had to ask for refills every time, and then wait forever for them. When we wanted to order a starter, the waiter walked away and said he be back when we made a decision, yet a decision had already been made... All-In-All,, a horrible experience. To top it off, the normally smiling happy owner, walked past us with a huge frown on his face.. Sooo sad... Used to like going there, but won't now.. read more

Food was okay but not much you can screw up with bacon and eggs plus toast. Coffee was good as was the bacon which was nice and crispy but not burnt. I do not think the price was not worth what you got, over $13 for bacon and eggs. Waitress was okay, didn't offer refill on coffee until after I was finished with my meal. Hostess was not good as I and another customer waited for almost a couple of minutes to be seated as she was nowhere to be found on a slow Wednesday morning. read more

My family and I love this place. Its our "go-to". The Clovis location is nice, clean, and I am always pleased with our servers and the food. I consider it a fancy "Dennys" or "IHop", but way better. read more

I met here today with four other friends for breakfast. The atmosphere was pleasant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

All that talk about Diners made me crave the ever-so carb-load, Turkey Open Faced sandwich plate, with mashed potato, smothered in gravey & side of veggie. Ah, let me start from the beginning. 50's music playing on the jukebox--waitress sat me very fast. It was a slow night. I got a big glass of ice water. Placed my order (Turkey plate). I asked if I could have spinach instead of the squash w/ broccoli. (I don't like broccoli). She smiled and, I love this, she said, "you want me to cook you some spinach instead?....No problem!" and said it so sweetly! I love it. My food came, hot and vola! The gravy wasn't overtly salty, which usually means it's canned. It tasted fresh and well---good! Everything was good--even the little bit of cranberry sauce that came with it. AND the spinach was fresh as well. The potato was also fresh... Ahhhh...craving satisfied. I thought there weren't any diners in Clovis. I was wrong. Clovis just named it wrong. It should be the "Yosemite Falls DINER". For the most part the 'diner' has a big tri-tip base with mexican entrees. However, they have the turkey dish and other "comfort food" favorites. It also has a full bar area and you can get your martini shaken not stirred or a glass of wine as well as beer. I'll be back my lovely diner...possibly for breakfast next time.....or lunch! Any negative Yelp review is not going to cause a business, such as this, to go out of business. Yelp is a game. This is not my favorite restaurant to go to but I find myself stuck coming here after church as it is convenient. In general it is overpriced by about $2.00 for everything. My wife and I had dinner here with our parents. The dinner was disappointing to say the least. The soda was FLAT and the water tasted like pool water, they didn't carry bottled water so we were stuck with crappy drinks. I asked for steamed vegetables and got rice pilaf as my side. My father ordered a steak medium and got well done. My wife's potato was cold. bla bla bla... The good news is the service was good and they got everything fixed. That's the only reason they didn't get 1 star! :-) I don't think ill be going back. read more

Food is subpar compared to just about every other breakfast establishment in Fresno, and Whenever I come here the service is always terrible. The last time I came with a the family they sat us in the furthest depths of the restaurant, and them promptly forgot about us. No one was able to get drinks, and all attempts to flag down someone to get some service was a complete failure. Eventually we got up and left, at which point then EVERYONE working there wanted to help us, but after waiting for 20 minutes to get some service, it was just too little too late. read more

I only go here because my bf likes to grab drinks here almost every week. However, we will be going to another location from now on. A pitcher of beer is way cheaper a few minutes away. The food is bland. We got a chicken quesadilla that had bell peppers and onions inside. I really thought it was supposed to be just tortilla with cheese and chicken. Ugh, spent time picking those pieces out. The sandwiches become soggy fairly quickly after you order. Staff very friendly and courteous. Not a place I would recommend. read more

This was our third time coming here (our Sunday evening date night), but it was extra busy, with a large party in the 'banquet room." The manager seated us and he's always very friendly. My wife enjoyed her favorite, bow tie pasta. I've tried something different each time--this time the pork chop meal with chili and a baked potato. Both of our meals were great. The buried lead---after getting our salads, the food took a long time. We asked after a while and the manager apologized and said the kitchen was backed up because of the large party. That worked--an explanation. Five stars because of the goodwill built up from prior visits. I wish our server had stopped by to explain the wait instead of me having to ask but we love coming here and we'll be back. read more

I came here after a failed attempt at going into an insurance company early saturday morning because they were closed and decided to eat around the area. I spotted this place while driving by although I must say it would be pretty hard to see if you weren't looking for it specifically. I give this place 3 stars for their great service. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful and always carried a smile with her when serving food, taking orders, or even when we were requesting for more coffee. Their coffee was better than the average coffee at cafe's and denny's in fresno. They had a smoothness to it that I couldn't' explain at the moment, but they were good. The food was mediocre though. I ordered the tri-tip and eggs and my parents got the ham and egg omelette. My dad wanted biscuit and gravy and the waitress was nice enough to add it to the omelette meal without extra charge. The food took a while to come out but i guess it could be because they were pretty busy. The omelette my parents got were cold and my tri-tip was barely warm and still at least 80% red. I prefer my meat to be medium well cooked. Proportions were relatively average size. But when I told her that my parents would be sharing the omelette, the waitress was nice enough to offer to serve it in 2 plates with the meal cut in half. Very nice of them. The pricing of this place is a bit pricey. It seems everything is about $9 per meal. Regardless of the meal. My tri-tip and egg breakfast was $8.99 and my parents omelette was $8.69. I believe the ham and egg on the menu was also $8.69. Coffee was $2.09. I suggest getting the tri-tip since they're all about the same price, might as well eat something expensive out of it. But don't have too high of an expectation for the food. ... I don't know if i'd come back. There's a lot of cafe's around the area that serves a better deal and meal for a lower price, but i have yet to find one that serves coffee as good as this place. its a dilemma but i'll make that choice when i visit Fresno again. read more

After reading all the reviews, I was looking forward to a friendly restaurant with good service. I was disappointed. Service was average, not something that would make me want to come back. Good was fresh and delivered hot. Portions were small compared to Black Bear Diner. Outside seating is available but you must ask, they do not offer it as an option. There was a breakfast special available but again it was not mentioned. The only reason I knew about the special was because someone in another booth ordered it and I overheard their order. Another positive, there was no wait I was seated immediately. Doubtful I will return, it is just too far out of the way for mediocre service. read more

I've been here multiple times for lunch and dinner with friends and family and have always left satisfied. It's a very casual environment with an extensive and diverse menu that is updated frequently. Mostly American and Mexican dishes offered and the price is lower than what I'd expect for the quality and quantity of food. I've never waited for seating and they honor any request for where I'd like to sit & special alterations to my food without hesitation. A+ service. Dine outside next to the fountain for an extra enjoyable experience. I don't know what everybody is smokin giving this place bad reviews... you will be missing out by not trying this place out. I liked this place. It had a nice family feel to it. Our waitress was really nice; she offered us free samples of manudo because we were skeptical at the fact that it wasn't a Mexican restaurant. It turned out to be pretty good. I checked in so I could receive the complimentary fried zucchini. I was expecting something small, but I was way wrong. It came out to be a huge plate. ($8.49 worth) I honestly did not expect something like that from just checking in. (It does require two entree, which is too easy) I ordered the country fried steak and eggs. It was really good. Pretty much average for this part of Clovis. Huge menu with way too many things on it in my opinion, but par for the course around here, with burgers, steaks, salads, pastas and.. mexican food? Large breakfast menu as well. Anyway, I had a burger, mom had fish tacos. All the menu items seemed to have way too many "parts" to them. Lots of sauces, toppings, etc. The service was kind of slow, we were there over an hour, which is kind of long for some pretty basic meals, probably to blame on the large menu with so many components, must be hard for the kitchen to keep up. We sat out on the patio by the fountain. The patio was nice, but the fountain was a bit loud making it hard to hear each other sometimes. Sitting closer to the middle of the patio would have been fine though. Back to my burger though. I ordered what I think they called the "sourdough burger" with bacon and about 20 minutes later, the manager came out to tell us the box that held the bacon had some mold on it, so they couldn't put bacon on my burger unless I wanted to wait even longer while someone went to the store to buy more. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. Good that they told me about it ahead of time, bad that they had moldy bacon to begin with. Also the menu listed it as having both cheddar and jack cheese, but there was no cheddar that I could see or taste. Combine that with no bacon and it was pretty bland. The fries were good. Mom said her fish tacos were just OK and they used too much batter on the fried fish so it was a bit thick and hard to chew. Anyway, it was a completely average experience. I'd probably go back for dinner but only because there aren't a lot of options in this part of town. Their breakfast is probably good so I'd definitely come back to try that. read more

I went here tonight with my daughters grandma and grandpa, and my daughter. The waitress honestly gets 5 stars. She was very attentive, everything was right, and she was very reasonable when I hardly ate any of my very bland and kinda mushy "Shrimp Scampi Pasta". It had a decent amount of shrimp, but there was still sand in some which is interesting since they're the regular bag-o-flash frozen skrimps. The Angel hair pasta was regular size spaghetti, that was over cooked. There were some tomatoes and asparagus and some over things thrown in there, but it was just super bland. And it wasn't a real butter sauce, it was at the most margarine. I tried adding pepper, but it just wasn't good. She saw that I hardly ate any, so she took it off our bill, which was super nice of her. I also redeemed my check in offer for the "Tempura Zucchini", and it was... alright. I don't think that was real tempura batter. It was pretty heavy and oily. But she honored it without any issues at all, that was nice. The people I was with seemed to enjoy their dinners though, and the strawberry lemonade is pretty good with real strawberries in it. The bathrooms were clean, but the doors swing inward and are about a half inch away from hitting the toilet. So say, if you have to take your toddler in to go potty, and someone is using the larger bathroom, you'll get a great little work out trying to get in to the smaller stalls, holding your baby over the toilet so she doesn't fall in, and trying to not touch the trash bins in there. So that was fun. All in all, I didn't pick the place, but thought I'd try and go in with an open mind. I tried. And um... ya. Even the waitress agreed that the meal I chose, she isn't a super big fan of. Soooo... yay! Great waitress though! read more

I went to this restaurant this evening with friends. Ordered fish and chips and my wife ordered the steak sandwich. The fries were cold so they had to bring out hot ones. The fish was ok but the tartar sause was a really strange mix of something, maybe some kind of ranch dressing with sweet pickle relish added to it. Weird! My wife said her steak tasted like liver, not the New York it was supposed to be. Our dinner partner ordered a steak, medium rare and it came out quite rare. The one saving grace.... pretty tasty banana bread pudding! It's ok food, just not a great dining experience. Probably good for granny and her mates. read more

Two stars for the service. Our waitress was nice and accommodating, but unfortunately, the food wasn't good. I went out of my way to visit Yosemite Falls Cafe on a recommendation from a friend. My wife ordered the taco salad because it really looked good. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich with fries just to try something that I ordinarily would not. The taco salad was just a green salad with unseasoned hamburger served with a salsa mixed with sour cream (I think). The only discernible flavor was the grease from the unseasoned meat. Even a side of salsa couldn't wake up this dish. My wife normally wouldn't complain, but she had to. The very nice waitress offered a replacement which was just barely satisfactory. My meatloaf sandwich looked awesome, but the meatloaf was soft, almost wet feeling. Also, there was mashed potatoes between the bread which was an unpleasant surprise. The place looks nice, it's clean, the service is quick and friendly. We weren't charged for the salad, which shows that they tried to make it right. I suppose that in a town full of Mexican restaurants, if you are looking for something bland and not at all scary, this might be a good place for lunch. read more

Love this place. They have a great and wide selection of foods to choose from. I guess you could say something for everyone. We have been going for years and always have a great time. Best place in this area the food is obviously coked by Mexicans or experienced cooked it's so yummy and the portions are big enough to share with another person. The manager nick was so amazing and always checking up on us. But we sat at the bar and had Gina as a bartender and hostess and she went above and beyond to help out my picky tasting. I want to start off by saying I'm pretty understanding and patient but this was some of the worst service and food I've ever had. The food was pretty bland, we ordered clam chowder, a burger, and Spanish omelettes, and they were all 3/10. The wait was forever, not to be seated, but for drinks and assistance, and it wasn't even busy. Employees were just chatting and laughing and even drinking on the job. I've had much better food and service at the one on Blackstone so just save your time, money, and energy and just go there. Absolutely horrible here and highly disappointed. read more

Went here while visiting family and was very impressed with the California Burger & seasoned fries! Fresh avocado, sauteed mushrooms, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato - all very fresh ingredients and the fries were perfection! (The other diners in my party got things like 'chicken fried steak' and 'beef medallions' - these dishes did not look appetizing at all to me, but I didn't hear any complaints from the others at the table. I'm glad I got what I got though :).) Service was very friendly though a little slow to bring out the food. Salads for my family came out quickly, but there was quite a lag before the entrees came (my meal didn't come with a salad and I was starving, so it was a pretty rough wait!). We got there around 5:45 on a Friday night (again, because I was starving!) and had to wait less than 5 minutes. By the time we left there was a HUGE crowd waiting so you may want to get there early. I cant give that much of a review for this place. I just stopped in for dessert with some friends. I had the chocolate cake, it was very tasty. I wish their was a little more cake and not as much frosting between the layers but it was still pretty good. It was not as good as a Pazooki. The service was very good. I would rather rate this place four stars, but there are some issues that made it a three star. For a beautiful morning and someone looking to enjoy a nice cup of coffee, it's great. For someone looking for a reasonably priced, and enjoyable breakfast, it's sub-par. The bad: * Chorizo and Eggs were awful! And, they came with no tortillas. That was an extra $1. * Country style potatoes also lacked flavor. * Pancakes (Kids " Mountain High Pancakes") were worse than I could make at home using the 'Great Value' batter mix. Rubbery, and no fluff. The good: * Decent cup of coffee. * Friendly staff * Nice ambiance Summary: As you can tell by my review, people come here to enjoy a cup of coffee while chatting and enjoying the ambiance. After making the trek out to Fresno to visit a some friends for Memorial Day weekend, we were about to make the journey back home and we needed out bellies full of delicious breakfast. The answer that our friends gave us? Yosemite Falls Cafe. When we walked in there was a mob of people there, but they gave us the option of either waiting an hour for inside seating, or 15 minutes for outdoor seating...hmm... what to do... outside we go! The server was really friendly and the food and drink delivery was prompt. Good service in general. The food itself was pretty yummy. I had the eggs benedict with hash browns and fruit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that their fruit was fresh and not all nasty, which seems to be a plague of breakfast joints. Their potato products were nothing special though (my hash browns were very very dry and i tasted my bf's country potatoes and they weren't that fabulous either). But anyone who can make a decent hollandaise wins me over, and they definitely accomplished that, and didn't overcook the eggs either... yay! I would probably stick to breakfast here though, as their lunches didn't look to be anything special, typical diner food. Not bad for Fresno though =) read more
