My friends and I booked this yoga to try for the first time in Hawaii. The instructor was knowledgeable and nice. One of the issue we had was parking. We did not know that it was in a residential area and there was no parking available when we arrived 15 mins early. Maybe because there was a garage sale that weekend and there was no street parking anywhere else. We ended up parking in front of their house which was not one of the designated offered spot. We barely made it to class. The other small issue was the teaching. She would verbally give the instructions but not perform most of the poses. I haven't done yoga in a while so that was a bit confusing for me. I had to keep looking at the other students for guidance. The pace was a bit unsteady during the middle of the session. It started off good, one breath one movement but in the middle she gave a few instructions that was more like half a breath and one movement. We did have a good workout overall. It seems there's a lot of regulars that knew her way of teaching and they didn't have any problem following her during the class. The students were very welcoming and nice to us newcomers. They also had incredible strength and stamina doing the head stand. My friends and I were quite impressed. read more

I decided to hold myself accountable for getting back into my practice and Yelp led me to Yoga4Ewa and Tasha. I took advantage of the generous Kamaaina introductory rate ($80 for a month of unlimited classes) and have waited three weeks to write this review as I wanted to be able to try each class offered. First, let me start out by saying Tasha is an extraordinary instructor. She is well-versed in a variety of yoga styles and has a welcoming, kind, open way of guiding you through the poses while considering your personal space, preferences, and flexiblity. With each class, I feel challenged yet respected. Also, the studio is lovely. Tucked away in the back of her home, Tasha has created a clean, airy, and bright space with all of the yoga props you'll need for a great experience (although I quickly ordered my own mat and strap so I could continue my practice at home!). I have NO concerns regarding COVID or any other issues that may come our way. The studio is well ventilated with plenty of open windows, doors, and sliders on the green space in the backyard and all props and surfaces are dust-free and sanitized after each class. I love a good meditative stretch, so my favorite class has been the Friday morning gentle yoga and I know I'll continue to go to this class as my schedule allows. The Ashtanga classes are where I push my limits of strength, balance, and flexibility and learn to let go and trust my body and my instructor - neither has let me down yet! I've also attended the Hatha class taught by Margaret, chair yoga, and the Vinyasa Fusion class. They've all challenged me in different ways and I enjoyed getting to learn a bit more about each practice. Tasha is a great yoga instructor! In addition to her many years of teaching students, she is also a teacher trainer. I have been going to Yoga4Ewa for only a few months and not only feel stronger but can visually see the difference in my arms. Having taken yoga classes on and off for the past 30+ years, she is the first teacher who taught me how to get into a headstand - I didn't even think it was possible to learn that at my age! At the start of her career, she was a personal trainer and brings this into her classes by teaching the poses, observing her students and working with them one on one to achieve the pose. I have learned so much more this way as opposed to teachers who only do the poises with the class, which makes it harder to observe all class students and to provide this individual attention. She uses the yoga Sanskrit names instead of the common names (like pigeon poise) for many yoga poses, so initially I had to watch the other students to understand what pose we were doing and I am happy that I am learning all the Sanskrit words. Shows no concern for community members or people taking classes with regard to exposing people to Covid-19. No masks are worn, no social distancing is possible in the poorly ventilated studio. Was confronted on the risk and irresponsibility shown to others, and ownership again actively ignored the law and all community concerns. Had the chance to show they are good neighbors and people who show aloha, instead they took the selfish, arrogant, irresponsible, and downright dangerous choice of money over safety.. I took the Myofacial Release class this past Saturday. I can't give Tasha enough stars to begin to thank her for this class. As I push 60, and since I work from home, my body has gotten so stiff. I exercise daily, but stretching wasn't enough. The morning of this class I could barely get out of bed without a full body stretch in bed. My hips are nearly frozen in place and very painful most mornings. Well... I can say that is a now a thing of the past! I have not felt this good in a very long time! Hip pain gone! Shoulders and neck no longer so tight I can't turn my head side to side. Back spasms gone! This class should be taught to everyone, it would be a fantastic public health service! I love this place! The atmosphere, the owner, the classes, the sound of the ocean near by...these are just some of the great things about YOGA4EWA. Don't be fooled by the smaller classes! The quality of the instruction is superior. All the instructors are well-trained and some of the nicest people I've ever met. Trust me, you will get a workout! The teachers are challenging but make every class accessible, especially for beginner yogis like me. The prices are very reasonable as well (especially when compared to other studios). The quality of yoga offered at YOGA4EWA is beyond superior, dare I say even BETTER than its larger competitions in town. The studio is a perfect blend of smaller sized studio and personalized instruction with great locals as well as a few visitors/vacationers! I absolutely love that there is a yoga studio in Ewa Beach! It is a very small studio at the back of a house in an unsuspecting location (in the middle of a neighborhood). That being said, I have only been a couple of times because this yoga studio is definitely geared towards stay-at-home moms/dads, retirees, or people that telecommute from their homes in Ewa Beach. Their class schedules make it IMPOSSIBLE for the person that works a normal Monday-Friday, 9-5 job in town (also, in my opinion, the type of person that NEEDS yoga in their life). They offer classes at ONLY 8:30am, 10:30am, and 5:30pm(some days 6pm) Monday through Thursday, offer one morning class on Friday, one on Saturday, and none on Sundays! I mean, they could at least offer a later Saturday class because I like to sleep until 9am on the weekends. Bottom line: If you have a normal Monday through Friday full-time work schedule, look somewhere else for your yoga needs. YOGA4EWA, please offer 7pm or later classes!!! read more

This is a great class with a small class feel, professional instruction, and in a clean, professional environment. This was our first private yoga lesson. My gal and I were visiting her parents on Ewa (leeward side of Oahu). Two 30 somethings and a "young" senior. We've had many years of informal yoga classes at our local gym, but never more than anything novice. Our instructor was the owner (forgot her name). She was great and from the start there was something different taking a personal class vs a big gym class. First off, she caters the class to the individuals. Next, she doesn't do the forms in front of the class (like every other instructor)...she demonstrates and then helps you personally to meet the objectives of the pose or form. We ended the class doing headstands...a first of all of us. Since the class, I can do it without instruction. The reason for no 5 stars, is because the studio is built into a residential home, not because the studio itself is not professional...probably the best studio I've ever been in, but because the front looks like a typical home in a typical neighborhood...meaning no easy parking for more than a couple cars. Also a bit difficult to find for the first timer. The studio has excellent supplies (mat, which I was instructed to clean after the session (noice) and plenty of blankets, blocks, etc...all high grade stuff. It was the thickest mat I ever used. Good air conditioning (but I was still drenched in my sweat by the end of the class...what a workout). I have not tried the classes yet, but I intend to make this a regular stop for our visits to Ewa. read more

I love this studio! I've come here twice for Hatha yoga and tonight will be my third time. I'm very new to yoga and took my first class here. The instructors are awesome and very attentive. The largest class was maybe 10 people so you'll get all of the help you need. The fellow students are all sooo nice and welcoming so no worries about walking into a stuffy environment, that won't happen here! The studio is small, but very clean and professional. I love that I can hear birds chirping in the backyard as we go through different poses and stretches. It really adds to the calming atmosphere. I starting coming here because of a Groupon I purchased. I have a couple more visits left, but after that I'll purchase 10 class passes going forward. It's affordable and the pass is good for 3 months so you don't have to worry about paying an arm and a leg for a monthly pass for classes you may not be able to attend. Parking looks intimidating, but I live less than a mile away so I just walk or have the bf give me a ride. I'm just happy to have a studio so close! read more

I found a tribe when I found Yoga 4 Ewa! The studio offers a wide range of styles, from rigorous Ashtanga to rejuvenating Yin. The teachers bring their their own personality and style to the practice, which adds a loving touch to the class. The first two classes of the day usually have child care offered, which allows me a sanity break and gives my toddler some play time.
