The class is challenging (in the best way!), and the instructors really focus on proper form, which I appreciate. The vibe is also amazing--everyone is so kind and welcoming. I've been following HYPE on IG for a while and always wanted to try one of their classes! I tried their Inferno HIIT Pilates class with Catherine. I love how they message/ check in with you before class and give you clear instructions on what to bring and where it's located. I found the studio easily and there was a lot of street parking. It was a full class but I'm glad there were beginners like me in there. I also saw people I recognized which was nice. I love that Catherine walks around class and fixes your form. The workout was tough and really pushes you through your limits which I needed. Definitely a humbling experience! Can't wait to take more classes! read more

OMFGGGGG CATHERINE IS AMAZING!!! The class was PAIN but she really pushed and motivated myself to work through. Super excited to attend my class on Friday night. Side note: I was very nervous and reluctant to join a yoga/pilates studio... being a former soccer player. But thanks to my SIL she mentioned HYPE. And I was torn between two companies... but decided with hype cause there are more classes offered, location is closer to home, and wanted fun over seriousness. I signed up for HYPE because it was close to home and wanted to do something more low-impact vs. hitting the traditional gym. Hot yoga itself is relatively new to me because never would I have thought I would enjoy being in the heat lol. The day before my first class, Catherine reached out and made the sign-up process so easy. She even greeted me on my first day! I really appreciate that it's a small studio because it's less intimidating for newbies like me. My first class I was BEAT, partially my fault because I didn't hydrate enough before class, but the following day I had so much more energy and endurance than I did prior to starting hot yoga. Is it hot: absolutely! Will you sweat: no doubt in places you didn't think you could sweat. It's aaall good: there's an indoor and outdoor shower for that if you need it right away. If you're after a low key session to stretch out tension that you can see and feel with every drop of perspiration that leaves your body in a small setting buy into the HYPE and give it a try!!! This Heated HIT Pilates class completely blew me away! I honestly, didn't expect to love it as much as I do. The instructor is next-level amazing: super knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and somehow knows exactly when to push you and when to encourage you. I had my first class of hot yoga, and I have to say that it was definitely the best sweat I got from any workout. Mind you, I have never done yoga before, and will definitely be coming back. Catherine is very informative from the start which made finding the studio so easy, and the sign-up was so smooth. She is also very welcoming which made me feel comfortable from the get go. During the session she also made sure to be attentive to each individual and make sure we were doing everything correctly. Went on a Sunday morning at their advertised time. No one was in the facility. There was a video on tv facing the gym, going on you can see from the outside. I attended my first class with a friend and it was a very intense yet very rewarding experience. The communication leading up to the class was really good. The class size was small which was super nice as it let me focus in on myself more. The smart studio very interesting and the teacher very knowledgable and direct with feedback to help with the poses. I was happy to have other regulars in the class to follow where I didn't understand the verbal directions for the poses. I followed it up with an ice bath and felt like a million bucks! Signed up via mind body app. Was in a hurry to do the 5:30 pm Sat. Class with a friend of mine visiting from Bali who happens to be a Bikrams Certified Teacher. My GPS took use to the shopping center down rd. We could not find the studio. The Dominoes Pizza Location at the shopping center told us to drive down street into a residential zone. We almost gave up looking until we saw a banner saying Hype outside an apartment building unit. Parking is in a residential street. Knocked on a glass door but wasn't sure it was an apartment or what. Decided we were over it so as I got back to our car a lady appeared out side waving. I walked back only to hear you are late. I was kinda baffled. My mistake for not reading the fine print on mind body app or here texts that came in as we were driving describing that it is virtual. My yoga instructor friend thought the whole thing was lame myself as well so we bounced on out of there. Finally a hot yoga studio that's less than a 15 min drive! I used to go to hot yoga about 5 years ago down in kaimuki, loved it but hated the drive. Finally decided to get back into it and was so stoked to see a studio near me. Catherine's hospitality and service was above and beyond. I inquired the day before and after 7pm at that and answered all my questions and help me set up my account and reservation. The next day I attended class, she ran me through everything and the amenities included with the studio for extra fee (cold plunge and red light therapy). Very straight forward and very clean studio with a shower to rinse off! I'd like to preface that the Studio is virtual but don't let that put you off. If you have taken yoga before, I believe you will acclimate to virtual class fairly well just need time to get used to the heat. Also, it's still great for beginners, yoga is considered a practice for a reason and with consistency, you will always get better so give yourself grace when trying this studio out and don't feel discouraged because it's different. Catherine was also our instructor and she was able to guide the class amazing with precise ques, instructions, and it helped a lot that she also gave slight corrections to help me target form. I'd say just give it a try! It was also awesome that herself and her husband let me try the cold plunge pool for the first time and it was awesome! Hidden Gem on the west side! After a long hiatus from my yoga practice, I was ready to get back into it. Because of COVID, my search for a studio that was still in operation led me to Hot Yoga Waikiki. Signed up on the website, bought a membership, and scheduled my first class. Catherine (the owner) welcomed me via Zoom and explained how the class would work. The entire concept of no actual instructor in the room and the class being thought live via zoom was a little different but after my first class, my hesitation was gone and was excited to continue my practice with this new concept. Cameras are all over the room so the instructors are able to see and correct postures. I started out practicing at the Waikiki studio and slowly transitioned to the HYPE (Ewa Beach) studio. I love the idea of having the option of both locations! HYPE just added a Cold Plunge and Red Light therapy to its studio. Nothing is better then a 90 minute "sweat fest" then jumping into a Cold Plunge to relax! All the instructors are great! Catherine and her studio has got me back on track to wholeness! read more
