Still love it! They now offer classes in Haleiwa which is more convenient for me. Also discounted rates for hawaii residents. This time I brought my 12 year old daughter and she loved it! You get a great work out and it's so nice to be on the water. This class is great for yogis of all levels. Super easy to schedule a class on their website. Give it a try! read more

Yoga Kai - Love the sunset session! - Yoga Near Me

This is something my wife has always wanted to do so once we planned our trip to Oahu to celebrate our 16th Anniversary, this was on the top of our list of things to do. As a certified yoga instructor herself, my wife would be hard to be impressed but she definitely was. Julia, the owner, was ready to go when we got there and clearly explained everything. Her instructions were clear, she was kind and encouraging and she took excellent pictures. Although it was challenging, it was a lot of fun. The lights under the paddleboards, the starry night sky and the cool water added to a great experience. Thank you Julia! Keep up the great job! We will definitely do this again next time we're in Oahu. read more

I'm lazy and kindergarten level when it comes to yoga, so the idea of doing it on a paddle board on the ocean was frightening. Also, as a ghetto girl I didn't wanna get my scalp wet. Ashley made this whole experience perfect, we were slightly late because of traffic, she worked with us. She tailored the class to our level, encouraged us without being pushy and took amazing pictures. Relaxing, fun, cool! Do it regardless of your level! This was a great experience that I cannot wait to do again. Our instructor Jonathan was very professional and experienced in yoga. He provided music during our class, instruction, and much needed encouragement which made the class that much more fun. This class is a great challenge for people in all skill levels of yoga. So relieved this business survived the pandemic, can't wait for it to get busy as I'm sure it will. Thanks so much Yoga Kai!! read more

We had a great time at yoga Kai! Our instructor was very knowledgeable, patient, and even took time at the end to take individual pictures of us in our favorite poses on the boards. I have minimal exposure to yoga and my boyfriend has never done it, and it was still a great experience. Don't need to be a Master Yogi or pro surfer to enjoy this experience! I would encourage anyone with the faintest interest to go and try it out! We did the sunrise in the Waikiki area. It got a little busy in the area we were in, but I would assume Sunset would be even more busy. read more

My mom and I did a glowga class and we both loved it! Our instructor, Julie, was incredibly nice and helpful. There was a bit of commotion from the surrounding area, but it didn't take away from the experience at all. It was nice and relaxing, we enjoyed feeling the water underneath the board. I would definitely do this again! read more

I've been doing Yoga for a while but have never been up on a Stand Up Paddle Board. I got the chance to try out Yoga Kai through ClassPass and had a lot of fun! Even though it was super rainy, we had a wonderful experience. We had a quick safety briefing to understand the parts of the paddle board. We headed out and dropped an anchor to help keep our paddle board in place. We started with slow, calm poses. They were mostly seated. As we progressed, we tried some more difficult poses to balance in. I fell in the water! Don't fear if you do! It's hard not to! The instructor also had her camera and took pictures that will be posted on the Facebook. This was a really fun experience. I'd love to try it again! read more

I took my first SUP yoga class with Julia at Ala Moana and it was amazing. It's a great all body workout to balance on the paddle board(which was very wide and comfortable) while floating in the water and my core was engaged the whole time, which I don't always engage during yoga on land. I had no trouble following Julia's calming and thorough instructions and I never felt lost or rushed. She even took extra time to take individual pictures of everyone on their boards after class which was very thoughtful. It was overall a great experience and I can't wait to go back and try the evening class! read more

I had such a great time with Julia (and her parents!) with SUP yoga in Haleiwa. Julia (the owner) and her family were so fun and kind. We had a great paddle and yoga class. Julia got some great shots of me in headstand and other poses on the board. :) I highly recommend Yoga Kai! read more

This was the first time for me and my husband at SUP yoga. We were honestly a bit intimidated at first but it turned out to be a great experience. We are not yogis but wanted to try it since we were in Hawaii surrounded by the beautiful ocean scenery. You don't have to be athletic to do this (trust me, neither of us are coordinated or fit). We were in shallow water and could modify the yoga poses to our ability. They also take pictures which was really cool. read more

I love yoga, I enjoy practicing everyday, so on vacation I thought why not on water? I had a wonderful time. Paddle yoga, was relaxing and challenging at the same time. Such a great yoga company. Very friendly, I was not able to make my original scheduled class, and when I contacted to change the date it was easily. My yogi instructor was fun, I enjoyed her flow. When I return to Hawaii, ill definitely take a class or two.. read more

I enjoyed the class but the instructor wasnt being too helpful with everyone. Seemed like she only concentrated on the 2 physically fit people there lol. So if you are a beginner , maybe not the company for you. Photos are included with the yoga class but I dont think she took decent pictures of me. Whereas everyone else has great pics from the group :(. Disappointed since I was visiting from LA. Also it says its 75 mins, but it started 20 mins late and ended in less than an hour....and the instructor was like anyone want anymore more pics and when I said yes (for 1 EXTRA PIC) she was like hurry up was acting as if I asked her to stay half an hour for a photoshoot. Dont ask if you don't want to. But paddleboard yoga was cool, definately try that out, maybe not here lol. read more

Johnathan was our instructor for our SUP yoga class. It was the perfect way to start the day. My friend and I had never done SUP yoga before. We thought that we would fail but Johnathan guided us through each pose perfectly and gave us great pointers to help us stay balanced on the board. We even got to do a little photoshoot after class. I would definitely recommend this for everyone. Thank you Jonathan for an amazing experience. read more

Julia is an amazing instructor! We took her SUP yoga class and it was so much fun. Our group was inexperienced on the paddle board but she was a great teacher and very patient with us as we learned. The lesson was a great way to start the morning and focus on our physical and mental health. I highly recommend this activity if you are visiting Hawaii! read more

Leah is super sweet and knowledgeable and made my first time doing sup yoga comfortable and very fun! I also love that she takes pictures and adds them to the Yoga Kai Facebook page - not every day that you get to do something so unique in such a beautiful setting, so it's great to have it documented! I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area (if I were a local I would be out there every weekend!) You can wear a bathing suit or more traditional yoga gear- I wore a bikini so I could work on my tan and get a workout in at the same time, but it really just depends what you're comfortable with.. Just make sure to wear sunscreen! Even on a cloudy day you can get sunburned in Hawaii without a little SPF read more

They are so accommodating! We booked via classpass but wanted to attend an earlier class and they allowed it! Our instructor was Starr, super friendly! While we were doing poses, she would walk around and help adjust us and take pictures with her waterproof camera. Everything here is about relaxing and runs on Hawaii time - our 10am class started around 10:15 and ended closer to noon. She also takes time at the end to take pictures of everyone that she posts on their FB page. Def worth checking out! read more

I looooooved this so much. I am a huge fan of yoga already and had an annoying Charlie Horse that kept picking on me so I was ready to get loose. I just knew I was going to fall within milliseconds of being on this board, but Star (my instructor) was a patient, funny, upbeat teacher. I did finally go crashing into the ocean trying to do tree pose, but once you fall off the first time you just scurry back on. I had just recovered from a twisted ankle injury and multiple physical therapy visits, so I was genuinely surprised that I could hang on and do the poses. Once I got used to the ocean pushing my board wherever it felt like (including backwards) I was good to go. I did a bunch of beginner and inter umediate poses, and fell another handful of times. By the time I was done, my falls were more graceful (flat on my butt on the board instead of underwater) and a bunch of laughs. I would've easily done this again if I had time and hopefully with Star again. Her boyfriend/husband was super helpful and professional too, giving us a couple tips and carrying the boards. I liked those two so much I asked to take a selfie before I left. Highly recommended! read more

I absolutely cannot believe that I did not try this sooner. Yoga Kai has been on my to-do list for a LONG time! My cousin from Canada came into town for family reasons and we wanted to hang out doing fun things. I'm not a big nightlife person and she loves yoga, so she was looking into beach yoga. That's when I suggested SUP yoga. We both had a blast!!! We purchased the one class groupon, which is a great deal and completely worth it. Our instructor was Kaity who was cheerful and helpful. She spoke clearly and was a great guide, although I had trouble hearing her in some moments. Yoga on land is hard enough but yoga on a board on water? Damn... I was half scared to fall in but half wanting to - I love being in the water. Sadly I did not fall in! The equipment was provided - an anchor and a BOGA YOGA board! Now I want my own board....and now I want to take classes all the time. I'm still trying to figure out a way to work that into my schedule. read more

What an incredible experience!! Taking yoga on a paddle board takes your practice to another level! It is so peaceful to be on the water and listening to the waves as your practice. She also takes pictures for you while you flow through your practice! It's a great workout and active meditation :) read more

Yoga Kai - Photo Leah (the instructor) took of me! - Yoga Near Me

This experience was so much more than just a workout. I've done yoga plenty of times before but the stand up paddle board yoga at Yoga Kai left me the most relaxed I've ever been after a yoga session. Please note that I believe you have to be somewhat athletic and fit to do this. You have to be able to carry a heavy paddle board, walk with it across the sand, paddle out to a calm area of water and perform yoga moves on an unstable surface. But if you are athletic in any way do not miss an opportunity to do this! You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. I wore a bikini but others wore workout shorts and wetsuits. Just make sure that you're comfortable stretching out and moving around in your clothes and be aware that you might possibly fall into the water. There are also lockers to keep your sandals and other belongings in while you're there. I'd highly recommend this class. It was such an unforgettable experience clearing my mind as I bobbed and swayed serenely on the water while attempting to pose gracefully. The yoga moves are doable even if you haven't practiced yoga before. The instructor also takes pictures of everyone which she posts on their Facebook page so you can get them for free. You can also ask to take pictures in specific poses or if you're with a group of people. read more

We had a great time with Ashley and Yoga Kai! Ashley called us the morning before our sessions to see if we had any questions, describe where to meet and also to warn us of traffic! It was so much fun. Ashley was amazing. She walked us through the basics and best practices before going in to the water and helped giving tips along the way to help us balance better. I am so happy to have found YogaKai. I purchased a class package on groupon or living social (can't remember which) a couple years ago not having ever experienced SUP Yoga. I was nervous my first class but it didn't take long after the class began for the nerves to completely dissipate and I was able to appreciate the peace that practicing on the water presents. Leah absolutely radiates kindness and she along with all the YogaKai instructors have a special way of making everyone in class feel comfortable no matter what yoga background you arrive with. They lead you with clear instructions and help guide you in connecting with yourself and the elements surrounding you. The water and wind add an extra push for you to focus on your body and find your balance but no worries! Even if you happen to fall in, the water is shallow and you just stand right up and hop back on your board! Modifications are offered for every pose so the class is truly meant for everyone. I've been in several classes where there were folks that couldn't even swim or have never been on a SUP board before. The equipment provided is top notch and after using their boards - I decided to purchase a BOGA for myself. Also, they take pictures throughout class and post them on Facebook where you can go and snag them all at no cost. I seriously have soooo many photos from Yogakai but they never get old! The photos are an added bonus especially if you're on vacation...I take everyone that visits me to a Yogakai class and they love that they can take that memory home with them in the physical form. This class is so fun! I find myself smiling throughout most of every class. It's really hard to have a bad day after starting it with Yogakai. They also have sunset classes which offer the most amazing sunset views. read more

My new favorite thing on Oahu! The ladies of yoga Kai are incredible. They scheduled me in for a last minute request for my birthday and made it a birthday I'll never forget. We did the mermaid spa which was incredible and took a stand up paddle board yoga class. The spa day was so special. I 10 out of 10 recommend. She made homemade spa treatments, a beautiful picnic and a memorable relaxing experience. The yoga was in a beautiful location and unforgettable. I'm from NYC, but have spent a lot of time in Hawaii over the years. Looking forward to coming back again for another magical day and bringing more people. Such a wonderful offering! read more

We can't say enough great things out our experience! We were a little sad we didn't get to meet Leah after all the wonderful things we read about her (but she was 9 months pregnant!) The teacher was great.. Lead about 45 minutes of flow for any level and 10 minutes of free play (try that headstand!) Easy to book and easy to find plus very affordable compared to hotel prices. They even take pictures and post of Facebook. How great is that!! 100% recommend!! read more

I had such a lovely session with Yoga Kai in Haleiwa. The location is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful, the river is calm and gentle and we got to paddle under the iconic Haleiwa rainbow bridge. Leah's Yoga Kai SUP yoga classes are wonderful! Although I have paddle boarded and taken plenty of yoga classes, I had never done SUP yoga before taking this class. When I found her website online, I was excited and a little nervous to give it a try. Staying balanced on a SUP while doing yoga was harder than I imagined, but Leah helped us every step of the way and worked with us as we were learning the basics. Her classes are fun and challenging, but she gives great options for beginners who are just starting out. At the end of class we sit in shavasana with our hands in the water, and I really don't think there's anything in the world more relaxing. I would take her class just for that part alone! My friend and I have taken 4 classes with Leah and we plan to take many more! We are so glad we found Yoga Kai! I highly recommend trying this out, even if you've never tried paddle boarding! You'll love it! read more
