I started with a Private Introductory Class. When I walked in the atmosphere was very "zen" and relaxing. The manager at the time, did my Intro class and I was very impressed and interested to learn more about energy meditation and how to relieve my insomnia. I joined for 3 months and took class 5x/week. After one month, I got rid of my insomnia and then after one year, I quit smoking. I was really impressed with the sincerity and patience of the instructors. I admit i was skeptical about Body and Brain (BNB) at first. My friend convinced me to at least try it out a few times. These first classes seemed okay. So I decided to pay for a six month package. During the six months, I saw great improvement in my posture and flexability, I now have a 3 year subscription. With time and consistent training I have less neck and shoulder pain. All of the Masters are encouraging, provide where one should "feel" the stretch, and reminders not to overdo any of the exercises. read more

One of the things I enjoyed in Thailand was yoga. It's a great way to workout and stay fit. One of my friends told me about a yoga place she goes to in Aiea recently. I wasn't 100% sure where Aiea was but I told her that I would check it out. Body & Brain Aiea is very easy to find and it's not too far from Honolulu. There is lots of parking there and stalls are wide. They are upstairs above Curves and a food/beverage shop in Aiea Town Square. When you enter, you will notice that it's very bright and welcoming. The receptionist area is very organized and the staff is very friendly. Training/Workout area is very spacious. You really feel the positive energy from everyone. One feels very comfortable and at ease here. It's rather relaxing and I like how clean they keep the facility. If you live in the area or not, check them out. read more

This is such a wonderful place to practice some self-care. I was welcomed from the very first time I attended classes and the instructors made a point to know my name. It is such a relaxing atmosphere where you can find your inner peace. Working in the family violence field, I needed a place where I can just zen out while enjoying others company. Feeling energized and calm! Master Shifu (Kung Fu Panda 2) talks about inner peace, visit Body & Brain to get a feeling of what the road to inner peace feels like. I came here last night to try it out as I wanted to find a Yoga/Tai Chi class in the area without going into town. Naturally, I turn to Yelp to point me in the right direction and all the reviews to hear other's thoughts. When I arrived, someone greets you right as you walk in. Don't forget to leave your shoes at the entrance (inside to the right). Master Park greeted me but Pam came to assist me with the normal sign-in paperwork. She then took me into the studio to explain what the class is about and to provide additional information on what to expect. Be sure to show up promptly as they start on time. You don't want to miss the warm up part, although I do want to say to keep an open mind if you've never went to a Yoga/QiQong class. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing (i.e. loose t-shirt (preferably light colored) and dark colored yoga pants). Make sure you can move in your clothes and they don't restrict you from turning or bending. It is also recommended that you wear sock with grippies on the bottom.  You do not need to bring a mat as the entire floor in cushioned. If you feel skeptical, I suggest you familiar yourself about chakras and maybe watching some videos on Tai Chi/QiQong to get a better idea on the type of movements you would be doing in class. If you still feel skeptical then maybe this might not be for you and that's ok. The point is to feel better and relaxed after a class. read more

I purchased the groupon deal, but never received the confirmation email. I contacted metabody (company that groupon was through) and they never got back to me. So i called Dahn Yoga Aiea, since my confirmed class was scheduled with them. The man who answered the phone, Jin, was not helpful at all. He told me that the class I had registered for (I registered a month ago) did not exist and that I would have to call metabody for anything. He was very rude and the whole phone experience was very disappointing. I was going to use this as a jump start to an active life again....and once I found a good yoga studio, I was planning on becoming a member, but trust me, I will not be joining this Dahn Yoga studio or Jin's classes any time soon. Their phone etiquette was a total turn off. read more

I attended Finding True Self Seminar at Aiea Center. The facility was great- clean, spacious, and had free parking. Master Park is a wonderful teacher, very supportive and gave us a great work-out. I also had classes with Tanys who is super fun and makes us sweat! Really love the Korean yoga style. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. The place is very clean and the staff/instructor was super nice. The only thing was most of the class was older and they weren't very friendly. So it wasn't the most comfortable yoga class I've taken. Also, the day I went the AC was broken so it was SUPER hot. read more

Me and my husband decided to try yoga for the first time and was recommended here. We did a 8am class with master Park and was very impressed. We enjoyed the energy of movement along with the stretches and balance exercise. It was easy to follow along but also challenging enough to make you want to improve your core strength, flexibility and balance. The people in the class are very friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a class that offers excellent stretching, meditation and a good time - you'll want to try out Body and Brain at Aiea with Master Park and Pam Nim. My husband and I love attending their classes throughout the week. Without a doubt, you'll remove any built-up stress by following their demonstrations. I won't spoil some of Master Park's jokes, but he is hilarious and makes everyone in class laugh. Pam Nim is just as wonderful and has her own flavor that keeps each group alive and active. We are grateful to find these wonderful classes which have enhanced our lives in many ways. It's been a steady three months and both my husband and I feel healthier and happier with each visit. They also offer more intimate classes such as "Finding Your True Self" which I would highly recommend to anyone, it was an unforgettable and life-changing experience! Parking is made easy at the Aiea center with a big lot right outside. The music they play during class is perfect to center yourself and everyone who attends is friendly. Tonight's class was great. It was "vibrations" night so we all got to stretch, move and get the energy flowing throughout our bodies. Instructor Karen really got us stretching and especially worked on loosening up our shoulders and hip joints and we all had fun at the same time!! Since I had to leave early for a prior dinner engagement, I wasn't able to stay for the second half of class which involves more of the breathing and relaxing exercises. I have been a Dahn Yoga member in the Honolulu Office and have had several opportunities to visit the Aiea Center to practice. I have found Master Jin to be a caring teacher who insures that we do our best with the body stretches and makes it a very enjoyable experience as well. I would recommend everyone to try it. I have found Dahn Yoga to really help me with my flexibility, tap into life particle energy for physical healing and clear my mind through meditation.
