Favorite spot for a sweet treat! They do a free topping of the day, and the owner was so sweet as to give a free strawberry tanghulu during closing time. It was such a delicious surprise! Definitely worth checking out and trying!
Located on the makai side, 1st floor, a few steps away from the food court. Friendly smiling faces greet you with a hand menu to review with some of the more popular choices. You do have the option to mix and match however your heart contends. Tasty, fresh & satisfying! Price is reasonable. Clean counters.
This place is so good! The frozen yogurt had a nice tart tang to it. The strawberries were perfectly ripe and the honeycomb was a nice addition. There are too many toppings to try. Also, the strawberry tanghulu had a nice sugary crunch. I need to try the other fruits.
The frozen yogurt here comes in a really good portion, especially for the size and convenience. I do wish the yogurt was a bit more tart, but the flavor is mild and pleasantly sweet. I really enjoyed the slice of honeycomb and the strawberries. Overall, a solid spot if you want something easy, satisfying, and not overly heavy.
I've tried the Tanghulu before and thought it was great, but recently I tried the yogurt ice cream and omg it was delicious! I got the Yoajung Signature because I really wanted the honeycomb and then added strawberries and the fruity pebbles was the free topping of the day. It was so addicting! I didn't want to stop eating it. We also got the strawberry tanghulu and that was good as usual. I think I prefer the mandarin orange one though.
This was just the what I've been looking for! Had it one before in the Bay Area but it closed down! It's just yummy and the honeycomb was great. You'd think it would be over powering sweet but it's not. The balance with the yogurt ice cream made it great. My new stop each time I visit the island.
Their yogurt ice cream is very delicious-- I can only imagine that everything on their menu are just as good. In the end, I always come back for their yogurt ice cream. The workers are very friendly and deliver great customer service. The same goes for the manager and owners of this place :) I enjoy coming back here every so often for a sweet treat.
To my surprise I thought the Tanghulu was gonna be too sweet but it was the right amount of sweet and refreshing tartness from the fruits. I was skeptical to try it but glad I did. A perfect snack to have anytime of the day. Not to heavy not to light just right!
My nephew one night brought home this particular yogurt from Ala Moana . My wife said it tastes almost like Yami Yogurt. Now we're going back way back in Ala Moana in the 80's. Yami Yogurt was on the Mauka side of the mall downstairs near Sareh surf and shore . My nephew said this yogurt place is called Yoajung located Makai side of Ala Moana next door to Curry house . This place has lots of fresh fruits on a stick along with a honeycomb that you can add to your yogurt. They also sell honeycomb all different weight and prices . Service is fast and friendly and always a line . If in the area try the yogurt and see if it taste like Yami Yogurt natural flavor . Support local
I tried Yoajung's Signature and really enjoyed it! The yogurt reminded me of Yami Yogurt; it came with the free topping of the day; fresh strawberries plus a drizzle of honey and a piece of honeycomb. At first, I thought the honeycomb looked a little skimpy, but it ended up being just the right amount since it was so rich and flavorful. We also got a strawberry Tanghulu and a grape Tanghulu, and the kids devoured both;they loved them! I did buy an extra piece of honeycomb to take home ($18.90), but unfortunately, it was a letdown. When I opened it, it had a moldy smell, and after tasting it, that same moldy flavor came through. The packaging was cute, but not airtight--it came in a paper-like container with a plastic lid. Since honeycomb can mold if exposed to moisture, they may want to reconsider how it's packaged. I was really looking forward to enjoying it, so that part was disappointing. Overall, the experience was mostly positive, but I'd be cautious with the take-home honeycomb.
So happy to finally get a chance to try this yogurt shop. It's usually busy with line and I always wonder why. Now I get why it's so good! Ala Moana was doing a promo that day and was excited to try something here. I got a regular greek yogurt with granola and added on honey comb topping. Surprisingly, the honey comb was sooo soft. It was perfect along with the greek yogurt. Sooo good! Frozen yogurt was so smooth and soft. Not overly sweet. I'll be back for dessert here. Love greek yogurt!
I absolutely love Tang Hu Lu. From having it for the first time back when Honolulu Skewer House would offer it complimentary for dessert after dining there. To seeing it trend on Tik Tok and attempting to make it myself. Which was dangerous. I burnt myself, then must have gotten the temperature wrong or something. The sugar I made was too hard and ended up cutting my mouth when I tried to eat it. So much better I just buy it here offered at Yoajung. They come in red or green grapes, strawberry, blueberry, tangerine (my favorite, definitely get that one), and pineapple on the weekends. They are $4-$5 each skewer. They seem to be super popular, possibly from exposure on social media. Their line was long. Good for them!
Frozen yogurt and other desserts like ice cream and Tanghulu! Yoajung is located on the bottom level of Ala Moana so there's parking all around the mall. We did not see any places to sit but there is a food court nearby that has seating. The service was efficient and they explained the types of tanghulu they had. We tried the frozen yogurt signature tart with honeycomb and the topping for the day was fruity pebbles. I got it without the topping but it was still good. The tart yogurt and the sweet honey made for a great combo. It was a bit pricey for me but still good to try. Next time I'm hoping to try some of the tanghulu!

Came here for the tanghulu! I saw someone post about this place on instagram and I had to try their tanghulu. I did the strawberry and grape. I will say I like the strawberry better bc it's like a sour sweet well balanced flavor. The grape was more of sweet sweet if that makes sense lol. But overall both were delicious! I did cut my mouth on it once but I don't know if that's due to user error v the actual product. Price was reasonable as I was too lazy to make it for myself. I was so focused on getting the tanghulu I didn't try anything else but after reading reviews I will be back for yogurt (and honestly probably more tanghulu)! read more

So delicious! The frozen yogurt is tart so I feel like it's balanced so well with all the sweet toppings. We all got different things but all got the honeycomb is a must. It's soooo good. There are so many other toppings to try too so you can have whatever you want. We also got the tanghulu which was great. The workers were soooo sweet and helped us decide. I really want to go back. It's so convenient at Ala Moana, where somi somi used to be. A great stop for a sweet treat! read more
After reading food blogger review on IG, person said to get ice cream frozen and so I came for my 1st visit. It was recommeded by female employee to get yoajung signature. Yoajung signature comes with ice cream, honeycomb, and todays free topping. which was fruity pebbels. My yogurt frozen so it won't melt on your way home. When I got home, it was still frozen. I love trying new places and will come back ago to try iced americano. read more

Yes! Korean FroYo! Delicious and slightly tart. Not too sweet and very refreshing. Topped with fresh strawberries and honeycomb I was so sad to see SomiSomi close but I like this place better. They also have tanghulu!!!! So glad we have a new dessert place at Ala Moana read more

I've been seeing Tanghulu all over my social media and have been dying to try it. Luckily, I don't have to make it myself. Thanks to Yoajung! They have different Tanghulus available. I got a typical strawberry one. The strawberries were fresh and were generously coated with the hardened sugar. I also ordered a small yogurt from them as well. They have different toppings available. You can choose from the different combinations on the menu or make your own. The only thing I hoped for were different yogurt flavors. There was only one. Which I enjoyed, but my fiance did not. They also sell packaged honeycombs. But if you don't want to invest in one, don't worry, you can get it on your yogurt as a topping. I thought this place was pretty good. But a little pricy for what it is. So this is a once in a while type of place. read more

yoajung has been on my to-go list for seoul but when i saw there was a US location i was so excited to try it. and boy am i glad i went- what we got was sooo yummy! the froyo is very similar to plain tart (which i love), but thicker and less sweet (which complemented the honey and fresh strawberries super well). the owner was also so so sweet and gave us an extra tanghulu! i'm honestly not a huge tanghulu fan because the sugar coating is usually done too thick but this one was so well done: the strawberries were juicy and the sugar layer on the outside was thin, making it super enjoyable and palatable. i'd literally pay my own money to eat it again lol. thank you to the sweet owner and i 100% will be coming back again! read more

Service was really fast- they make the the yogurt in front of you, and the employees were really nice. However, I would say that it is pretty expensive because every topping costs 1 to 3 dollars extra on top of the base yogurt. I know that this place is really popular in korea so I'm glad I got to try it though. The location is on the food court area of Alamoana mall, next to Yomi rice yogurt so there there's a lot of parking read more
Tanghulu is the newest craze! Overhyped? Not in my opinion. It's definitely worth a try. 4.99+ tax for the strawberry. My stick came with 3 large strawberries, but I've seen others with probably 5-6 smaller strawberries. They were sold out of the grapes when we got there.. I'd definitely come back to try out the grape or tangerine tanghulu. It's basically melted sugar on the fruits. Sort of like the li hing lollipops us locals make. I wanted to try it out first before trying to do it myself. I don't really care for the yogurt ice cream? But I'm sure my kiddos would try it next time. The line was quite long but they got through it as quickly as they could. read more
I think this is the only actual frozen yogurt spot in town now, so it definitely hit the spot for my froyo craving. It is quite pricey, and you're limited in customizing the flavors and toppings. The staff prepares your order quickly, but it's not the same as assembling the froyo flavors and toppings yourself. It's a grab-and-go place with no seating, though you can find seating inside the busy Ala Moana food court. I'd recommend Yoajung if you're craving the tarty, refreshing dessert. read more
My friend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon for a treat since we were walking around the mall. It's a cute, bright storefront, but it is a take-out window only. The cashier was really friendly and let us know we could ask her any questions. I've seen good reviews about this place for their frozen yogurt, and initially, that's what we wanted to try, but when we got there, it seemed pretty expensive. A regular frozen yogurt was about $6.99, and toppings were an additional cost. I think it ranged from $1.00 to $2.50, I can't remember, but there were LOTS of toppings to choose from and knowing me, I'd want to pick a lot so it would probably end up costing a lot more. Then we saw they had tanghulu! I remember seeing some reels on IG, and I've always wanted to try, so I was happy to try some. They had strawberry, red and green grapes, and mandarin oranges. We got the strawberry and green grapes. I believe the strawberry was $4.99, and the green grapes were $3.99. We couldn't find a place to sit down and eat since the food court was super busy, so we just found a place to stand and eat. The tanghulu was so pretty and very interesting. It's some type of sugary coating on fruit skewers. We tried to share the strawberry and grapes, but it was really hard, so I ate the green grapes, and my friend had the strawberry. The coating on the tanghulu was really thick. While it tasted pretty good, the coating got stuck in my teeth, and it was hard to eat. I'm not sure if the coating is supposed to be that thick. It also got more difficult to eat since the fruits were on a skewer, so your face would end up getting sticky because of the coating. I tried breaking the fruits apart with a plastic spoon, but it was so thick that it was hard to break unless I really smashed it or bit into it. My friend said the strawberry was too big to eat, so it would have been easier if the strawberries were smaller. I think his skewer had 2 small and 2 large strawberries. My skewer had about 5 - 6 small grapes. While the concept of tanghulu is great and it did taste pretty good, I do feel that if the coating was a little thinner, it would've been easier to eat. The coating getting stuck in my teeth and being hard to bite was just a bit off-putting. I don't think I'd be back to try the tanghulu again, but the froyo did look good, so I'll probably try that next time. read more

It was a perfect treat after a nice lunch with the family. We ordered yogurt ice cream with rainbow mochi, yoajung signature, and strawberry tanghulu. We also received the free topping of the month. We've seen tanghulu a lot in photos and videos. Luckily we didn't have to travel all the way to Asia to try this sweet delicious street food. Yoajung use of honey was quite a surprise. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely come back for more! read more
I ordered the Yoajung with Oreo and M&M's. The yogurt was very delicious. The only thing I look at that doesn't make this place 5 stars is that the desserts are pretty pricey. Almost $9 for just one yogurt. The service was really good. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of their products. The ambiance was very nice and clean too. read more

Bad service!!! The cashier....no eye contact no greeting!!! And as I look at the other workers... they tell the cashier to look. The cashier looks at me and says "you can just order in listening".. Um, really??!! No. I tell her...."um I was waiting for you to be ready, or like say hi?" She tells me oh no just order. Really :( Anyways. My family did not care for the yogurt. It's sour...maybe the style of it?...idk and the candied fruit was NOT crunchy....maybe old??? So FAIL. Bad service. Bad food. Anyways we ended up trashing it and buying from OnaOna Dessert and Coffee upstairs and the strawberries were bigger and crunchy!!!!! Go there! And their service was fabulous!!! Greeted as we got in and they were soooo friendly! read more

This was a different ice cream place the last time I was here and I met Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees here!!! I think it was called Somisomi. Now this place is a totally different dessert place called Yoajung. We did not try any of the yogurts. My kids specifically only wanted tanghulu. We went to a bunch of tanghulu places that day and they were all closed!!! Luckily this place at the mall was opened so my kids were super happy. We ordered 3 sticks and it was $15 total. Not bad! I hope I am not mistaken lol. According to my budgeting I wrote I spent $15 here and there are 3 sticks in the picture below lol. The staff was very friendly that is important to us. Nice staff will always bring patrons back. Nice staff will drive word of mouth and bring traffic. There are no seatings. You order from the window outside. The windows are see through so you can see everything they do. My kids said these were probably their new favorite tanghulu on the entire island! If you are on the hunt for tanglulu, this is the place! It's not too expensive and they taste good!!! read more

It's been a while since I went but I did get the ice cream cup with strawberry and oreo which was $8.99 I think. They had a free topping for the day which was some other strawberry jam thing. I also got strawberry tanghulu ($4.99). It is a bit pricey but overall it was a great treat and experience ^.^. It was my first time trying tanghulu. The strawberry was very sweet and the sugar does melt fast so don't let it sit out! The cashier and person who was getting my yogurt ready were very nice! They also offer a stamp card at pickup. read more
Nice quick service spot outside. We got the signature so the special topping for the day was the dalgona. Both the honeycomb and dalgona paired perfectly with the frozen yogurt! We loved the frozen yogurt. It actually tasted like yogurt, a little tart but still light and sweet-- just the way we like it! We'll definitely stop by again when we're in the area! read more
Just to be fair, I think there might be better choices than what we got, which was the strawberry tanghulu and a little bite of the honeycomb (we were curious!). I've been hunting for a good tanghulu since we had one at Honolulu skewer house, and my gf spotted this shop that opened where Somi Somi used to be! But their specialty seems to be the yogurt, which we didn't try. The tanghulu was just okay. The coating was hard and thick and caked into my teeth. The strawberries were huge, like costco size, and super sweet which would normally be great, but combined with the sugar coating it was too sweet. I think smaller pieces of fruit and a thinner coating would help a ton. Maybe the tangerines would be better? Or it might be good with the yogurt. And the honeycomb, which I was just really curious about, was just straight up honey. I don't know what I expected lol. It was a toothache and then I was chewing on a piece of beeswax. Again, maybe it needed the tart froyo to balance it out, but then I'd have hard wax to chew on. Gonna come back to try the froyo and a tangerine tanghulu and see if that changes my review. read more

If I could give this 20 out of 5 stars, I would. I love love love asian style froyo, and this was was the perfect amount of sweetness and tartness. As another Yelper commented, I too have had froyo in Asia and the Bay Area, and this is the best froyo I've had in a long time. I came at 7:58pm on a Monday, and wasn't shooed away even though closing time is 8pm. I could feel the warmth from the owner's smile as he prepared the day's special for me. Lol, I used to work at Haagen Dazs...at 7:58pm, we definitely said no more people at that time and shooed people away. Nothing wrong with that either though! Back to the froyo! Besides the perfect flavor and texture, this yogurt reigns supreme because there was no weird aftertaste which happens to me at most froyo places. Just the smooth clean taste of yumminess!!! Add the honeycomb (also no bitterness, all tasty) and today's special fruity pebble topping, alllllll perfection. Some may say this cost is too much, but when we look at how much you get charged at other high quality dessert places, it's on par. AND TOTALLY WORTH IT. The only unfortunate thing is your view while eating this is the mall parking lot as you definitely won't make it to the beach with this because it's soo good. Can't wait to come back. read more
Delicious! grand opening today ala moana next to Yomie's. We tried their signature for $8.99. Includes fresh honeycomb, ice cream yogurt and a free topping. Today's free topping was fresh banana. If you like Dairy queen original tart flavor it's similar to that. The honeycomb was delicious. They weigh their yogurt to ensure the servings are consistent. Friendly service. They have a stamp card. I'll be back since I love yogurt ice cream! read more

Thank you so much for the review! We are happy to hear about your…
Ala Moana has a new dessert player in the former SomiSomi location. Yoajung serving up frozen yogurt soft serve with local honeycomb. What I liked? The local honeycomb is delicious and the frozen yogurt soft serve is nicely balanced with a little tart flavor. What I didn't like? The price. $8.99 for the signature is overpriced. The frozen yogurt barely breached the brim of the cup. They could definitely be more generous with the frozen yogurt for the price they are charging. The signature comes with a free topping of the day, but it's not a choice, if you don't like the free topping oh well. Go or No Go? Sadly for me, Yoajung is a no go. If honeycomb is your thing this might be for you, otherwise there are much cheaper options for frozen yogurt that is similar. read more
This is the newest dessert spot in Ala Moana and when I saw that they had tanghulu, I knew I had to give it a try! I got a strawberry tanghulu stick and it was $5. I've been so excited to try tanghulu since there aren't any spots here in Hawai'i that sell them. The cashier was so sweet and friendly! My order came out quickly and wow it was beautiful! The bright red strawberries glistening in the hardened sugar coating! It was just as amazing as it looked! I'll definitely be bringing my friends to try this new spot! I can't wait to try the other tanghulu fruit sticks! read more

Tried this new frozen yogurt place today at Ala moana. It's located on the ocean side next to curry house. It is absolutely delicious . We had excellent customer service . They packed our yogurt cups with an ice bag underneath because we were going on the bus. Everyone was so nice. We definitely got our money's worth. You get a stamp card for your next visit . This is our new go to place. The coldness cools you off. read more
Most definitely an acquired taste for some people but for me, it was nostalgic of my childhood; my parents would go to Chinatown and grab mini bags of frozen yogurt from the freezer. I'd bite a plastic corner off and enjoy my little makeshift "go-gurt". It's more on the tart side, possibly similar to Greek yogurt? I would recommend ordering their signature to get a little bit of everything (also dependant if you like their topping of the day) I was lucky and it was lilikoi popping boba for me so I thought it was pretty worth. The amount of different flavors you get with every bite: a little tartness from the yogurt, little sweetness from the honeycomb, little juiciness from the popping boba. I'd say she was a win for me. My parents enjoyed it a lot and said that it reminded them of Vietnam read more

Randomly found Yoajung when we were driving through Ala Moana Shopping Center to get to a different shop. After seeing tanghulu on TikTok and IG for months, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a try! It was 10:15 am on a Sunday so there was no line and we were greeted immediately. I think we were a little too early so we only had strawberry and green grape to choose from. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount that was given for the price ($4.99 for the strawberry and $3.99 for the green grape) and the quality of the fruits. The strawberries were perfectly sweet and went well with the thin sugar coating. Definitely something fun and delicious to try. Will be back for more and to try the frozen yogurt! :) read more
