Whenever in Hawaii, Lappert's is a must! Definitely a true staple here! We love all the flavors from Kona Coffee to Cookie Dough, to Macadamia Nut! All of the flavors are delicious. Customer service is great, offering free samples and such!

Lappert's is located in Waikiki, near the Hilton Village. They offer scoops, sundaes and even freebies! Lappert's gave away free sundaes for teachers for teachers appreciation week and for mothers on mother's day. How sweet is that? The ice cream flavors are so creative. Each ice cream offers a thick, rich and even luxurious bite. The prices are a bit high compared to their competitors, but you're paying for the real stuff. The real good stuff. Service is friendly! The line was out the door when I went, yet the staff kept their smiles. The location is small and doesn't offer much space to sit or stand, but a great grab-and-go hotspot. Would come again to try their coffee flavors!

Split scoop of Ooey Gooey Pineapple Cake and smores ice cream

I tried the Ooey Gooey Pineapple Cake and the Smores flavor. The ice cream was okay, the quality didn't match the price. It tasted medium quality wise rather than high quality for the price and portion. There's limited seating so I recommend a pick up and go if you plan to try this while in Waikiki.

Came here on my trip to end the night with something sweet. There was a line and I wasn't at all surprised. The service was stellar, there were 3 ladies rotating groups and one at the register. Their chemistry was superb getting people through and still maintaining patience with those who wanted samples. The inside was cute but again, crowded. I got the macadamia nut ice cream with the haupia ube on their classic waffle cone. I couldn't commit to a double scoop so it was nice they offer a half and half single scoop. Both flavors were great, my boyfriend got a single scoop vanilla bean. No complaints there, really hard to mess up vanilla. Overall, had a great experience. Would come back on my next trip to Oahu ^_^

Lapperts is famous in Hawaii for their delicious ice cream, and if you're staying in the Hilton Hawaiian village, it's a must try! Lines are typically very long, but we managed to snag a spot at night, and the lines do typically move very quick! Unique Hawaiian flavors and classic ice creams with fun twists. Highly recommend, especially if you have a sweet tooth!

Walking into an ice cream spot in Waikiki, you already know you're about to get financially disrespected. I was fully prepared to pay "ocean view tax" for a single scoop. Somehow, it ended up being the same price, if not cheaper, than the Baskin-Robbins by my house. That alone threw me off. Then the ice cream showed up... and now I'm suspicious for a different reason. Flavor was a straight 10 out of 10. Not "it's hot so I'll take anything cold" good, actually good. Like someone back there cares about your happiness. Portion size? Out of control. These guys are not measuring anything. It felt personal. Like they saw me walk in and said "yeah, give this guy the full send." And listen, I've never once in my life said "that's too much fudge." That's not a sentence I use. But they pushed me to the edge. Sundae came out looking like it was melting under pressure. Fudge dripping down the sides, chocolate overflowing like it had somewhere to be. I couldn't even take a picture because it was already escaping. One wrong move and I'm wearing it. At one point I wasn't even eating it anymore, I was just trying to contain the situation. This is exactly how a sundae should be. Messy, overloaded, slightly stressful, and 100 percent worth it. I'll be back... but next time I'm bringing backup.

Best ice cream!!! Surprisingly really great prices! Get the keiki cone for $4.99!! It's a delicious, fresh, waffle cone. I had the coconut ice cream with caramel and macadamia nut, Ono! Located within the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

A small, store front, with plenty of flavors. This place was packed when we arrived at 4:00pm. I got a double scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough and mini peanut butter cup, and fudge. It was tasty. My wife got the Kona coffee and the Kona lava Java double scoop waffle cone. Prices were about the same as other ice cream places, $25. Overall, a well deserved treat for the afternoon of rain.

Still as good as the very first time I tried it. Their coffee shakes are just so delicious. The ice cream is a hit with the kids. They are so creamy and flavorful. The line outside can be intimidating but the staff does a great job getting it to move along despite the many times they have to stop serving due to flavor test requests. The location is walkable from other nearby hotels as well not just the Hilton. Grab and go ice cream or drinks then enjoy them while walking around the village or the beach. I cannot visit this area without stopping by at least once.

The infamous Lappert's! I was told by at least 3 people who knew we were going to Hawaii and staying at the Hilton that we needed to check out Lappert's for ice cream! Lappert's is located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu across the main lobby. My family and I visited Lappert's 3 out of the 4 nights we were there and it definitely lived up to the hype! On the first night, I ordered a scoop of Macadamia Nut ice cream which was so good. I shared the Uncle's Hot Fudge Sundae with my husband on the other 2 nights. My daughter tried the Ooey Gooey Pineapple Cake, Pineapple Sorbet and Banana Fudge and loved all 3 flavors. Not only do they offer some great flavors of ice cream, they also offer in house made waffle cones and bowls, cookies and large pieces of coffee cake and carrot cake. I believe I also saw Affogatos, different espresso drinks, milkshakes and Root Beer Floats on the menu - Chillers and smoothies too! I don't recall seeing seating inside of Lappert's, but being in Hawaii, my family loved grabbing ice cream to go and walking along the beach. The line was always out the door when we visited, but it moved quickly and staff is friendly! Check them out!

Create your own ice cream sundae: chocolate chip cookie dough, waffle cone, caramel, sprinkles, whip cream, and a cherry on top!

Fun Fact: Did you know that you can order an Ice Cream Party from Lapperts?? That's right! I'm talkin'... 30 freshly made waffle cones A commercial-size tub of ice cream (your choice of flavor- I highly recommend chocolate chip cookie dough) A pint of sprinkles Your choice of two toppings: nuts, hot fudge, caramel, strawberry sauce All for $160. Think kids' birthday party, holiday party, work event... I did a full mash up and hosted a holiday karaoke event for both of my sons' 1st and 2nd grade class. Oh my gosh... everyone LOVED it!! Even the parents came back for seconds! The ice cream is delicious all by itself. The toppings and waffle cones are a bonus. Remember Lapperts if you are an event planner. Parking is expensive in Waikiki so call ahead and run in to pick up the goods during the grace period. Enjoy!!

Soooo good! Their version of rocky road

Love stopping by LAPPERTS when we are at the Hilton. The ice cream is certainly the best. They also have sorbets. They even have Bakery items. Service is usually friendly. There are two tables in the parlor. One bench outside. Other than that, it would be through throughout the Hilton properties that you can find a place to sit.

Can't decide
Joanne S.

Premium ice cream at its best. We decided to get the Can't decide option because that's an appropriate option when there's so many goid flavors, and its the best deal. 5 half scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. There was not a line whenever we've stopped by, but there is usually one after dinner hours. Not sure about earlier because I don't pass by earlier in the day. There's a few seats to eat at, but I think its overlooked because you pay on the other side, and most customers are sitting on the bench or wall outside. They also serve do.e. asked goods, being that they open so early in the morning, and sell coffee as well. It's definitely the best ice cream around.

Ask the Community - Lappert's Hawaii

Do they have bubble gum ice cream?

As the flavors come and go daily, you'll have to call the location to find out about current stock.

Are there vegan options?

Sorry, none!

Does the icecream contain raw eggs? I really want to try the chocolate mac nut icecream.

Aloha, Thank you for your question. No, our ice cream does not contain raw egg. The ice creams do not contain egg at all, with the exception of our Chocolate Chip cookie…

Do they have dairy-free options?

All icecream bought in Hawaii are made in Hanapepe, Kauai, of natural ingredients including dairy products.

My strategy: take off the cover (if it's not overspilling: if it is, skip this step), eat some of the ice cream, and take a few sips! That should leave you enough room to mix everything, each scoop you should get a different bite. A long spoon would be best for the larger sizes! Magnolia did not disappoint. I'll be back!!

Located just outside the Royal Hawaiian Center, the shop almost always has a long line, but it moves surprisingly quickly thanks to the convenient self-order kiosks. Despite the steady stream of customers, the staff handled the crowd with impressive efficiency, and our order arrived sooner than expected. With its vibrant layers of color and fresh toppings, the shave ice created a breathtaking first impression. Better yet, it tasted every bit as incredible as it looked. **Hawaiian Rainbow: 5/5** The Hawaiian Rainbow was the perfect sweet treat on a blazing hot day. Layered with housemade coconut spirulina, strawberry, and mango syrups over incredibly soft shave ice, it offered a bright medley of tropical fruit flavors. The shave ice itself was exceptionally smooth and delicate, with a texture reminiscent of fluffy snow that dissolved almost instantly on the tongue. Hidden beneath it was a layer of rich, soft ice cream that provided the perfect creamy contrast to the refreshing flavors. The finishing touches were a generous drizzle of condensed milk and fresh strawberry chunks, whose subtle tang balanced the sweetness beautifully. Homemade mochi added a soft, pillowy chew, while the lychee popping boba contributed subtle floral notes evocative of rosewater. Every element complemented the next, making each spoonful just as enjoyable as the last. Island Vintage Shave Ice more than lives up to its well-earned reputation. From the stunning presentation to the handcrafted syrups, silky-smooth shave ice, and a texturally diverse assortment of toppings, every component came together to create a phenomenal dessert that's every bit as delicious as it is visually captivating. Located down Umi Street not too far from neighboring New City Nissan on N King Street, Samurai moved to their current location in 1995 serving Maui style sherbet, popcorn and other local snacks. They also expanded to Samurai Snacks Aiea for an impressive 20+ years before closing its doors in May 2023. We arrived shortly after lunch time where we pondered at the menu wondering what to get. It's not fancy here at Samurai - - the storefront is basic and nothing fancy with a few seats patrons can sit on if they decide to eat their treats on premise. Morale has been low at the office so I decided to get some convenient prepackaged 4oz assorted Samurai cups to cheer up the staff. My colleagues also picked up some bags of buttered popcorn with mochi crunch and furikake for an informal office party to welcome the much needed weekend. Because we were already there, we also got some soft serve cups to cool down before heading back to the office. My colleagues had the classic strawberry and blue vanilla swirl and I selected the mango. My colleagues enjoyed their selection but the mango didn't live up to my expectations. The color was vibrant and enticing but sadly the mango flavor did not come through. Each cup came with a sugar roll cookie that was delicious. After our cold treat we headed back to the office with our surprise for our colleagues where it was a big hit. There were many happy faces standing in line grabbing some popcorn and a 4-oz cup of Samurai. Overall, a much better experience with Samurai that's deserving of an update with higher marks. It has been noted in my books to stick to flavors I'm already aware of and avoid trying new ones for that possible disappointment that often happens to me.
