Yo Sushi is my go-to for DoorDashing sushi in Vallejo. They're pretty reliable. I think they stay open latest out of all the sushi restaurants in town. Easy parking since it's in the same shopping center as Safeway. DoorDash orders can be okay or good. One time, maybe it was near closing, the rolls we got were fat! It's never been a complete miss for me. Very large selection of sushi rolls. There is something for everyone. Recently I came here for a dine-in experience. I wasn't aware it's self-service. Order and pay at the counter, they'll call your name to pick up your food, and bus your own table when you're done. The rolls were good. The line to order moves fast. I think they largely do take out orders. The boba drinks were unexpected. They were a lot more like a slushee or a freeze. The flavor of the Thai tea was good. I just didn't expect a semi-frozen drink. Will likely continue ordering through DoorDash, but will check out other places if I'm looking for a more traditional sit down experience. read more

The island roll and titanic rolls were awesome. Place is kind of small but we did have a birthday so that's probably why it felt small. Lol

So upset, they forgot about my food. Took them 48 minutes for one dish! and I asked 3 times we sat and waited up front for over 20 minutes. The first guy assumed she was making the food and told me 5 minutes, I got it 25 minutes after that. I had to stop them to ask them what was going on. The girl in the back is horrible she looked like she is arguing with the front staff when they said where is the food. They had to tell her 3 times to get the food. My sushi I got looked was very low quality and avocado looked like it was getting old. The manager just looked at me and said sorry I'll talk to her. There is a complete lack of quality sushi in Vallejo. I have tried SO MANY places. All the places. What we have is pretty much all fast food sushi places no better than getting it at Safeway. Yo Sushi is just another fast food sushi place. Not terrible, but not what I'd call good. This is probably the second or third time I've ordered. I keep forgetting it's not that good. One of the rolls I ordered was fish and then wrapped in cucumber with no rice, and some watery mayo based sauce that drained out of the slices. The thing pretty much fell apart. How can you serve sushi in this form? The tempura shrimp was definitely from the freezer and doughy. Also, this place is far from cheap. Instead of another Thai place, Chinese fast food, soul fusion, or fast food sushi place, can someone please open a sushi restaurant in Vallejo with HIGH QUALITY fish? People would pay for it. Honestly it was the first time I decided to come in and try this sushi place because I'm usually more of a poke bowl person but I saw the cute lighting from the outside a knew I wanted to sit down for a bit and relax. I took more time deciding what I wanted than how long it took for my order to come out and I'm pretty indecisive so you know how that goes. I grew up in Vallejo so Yo Sushi has been in my artillery of restaurants since the beginning. Every time I come here, the food comes fast, and the sushi is great. I always recommend this place to friends and family who travel to Vallejo. I'd honestly give them 5-stars but I had a sub-par experience with them on my last visit. So I come in about 30 minutes before they close and its pretty packed. The cashiers look a little overwhelmed; in which I understand, I too worked in the restaurant industry in college. What makes me mad was the cashier's inability to focus on me as a customer when other things are going on. As I give her my order, shes "directing traffic" behind her, and asks me to repeat my order. I repeat my order again and then she tries to be cute to a nearby table by jokingly telling some kids to eat their vegetables. She doesn't hear my order. I tell her once more, and this time she's not even looking in the direction of me and the register. When I get my food, the food isn't packed to go. If she was listening, this mistake wouldn't have been made. Now here I am waiting another 5 minutes to get my food boxed up, and other staff does it for her. What is she doing? Counting money. Pretty unprofessional to count cash on a stand. You're not closed yet, and you're not switching shifts. That can wait. Anyway, the food was great as usual. The sashimi appetizer is always fresh, and the rolls are made with craft and precision. I love this place and would love to give it 5-stars, but that cashier really needs to be a little more professional. read more

Look- I know sushi and bento boxes to-go look wildly different than the photos but my issue is that, 1.) The photo leads you to believe there's going to be more than what's actually included and 2.) I didn't even receive some of the items the description says is standard in all boxes. AKA: the pickled veggies I was really looking forwards to. Next- I ordered Salmon teriyaki and I received absolutely no teriyaki on the fish nor was it included on the side. I also asked for the wasabi to be omitted in my box (it makes my eyes water) and still got a big fat glob of it. You might be thinking- why not just put teriyaki on the salmon yourself. Again, 1.) it's the darn principle of the matter and 2.) teriyaki is a treat for me and I do not readily keep/have it available in my home. The portions were small, even of the rice, considering the price of the meal but I'm opting to give 2 stars because the fish was decent and host was polite about the situation even though they told me point blank told me there's nothing they can do other than remind the kitchen to be more mindful. Called around 8:40pm to place a phone order and was told they stop doing phone orders at 8:30pm. I asked if it was ok to go there and order in person and the lady asked me if it was just sushi rolls that I planned to order and I said "yes". She then said "yes you can come down and order." I asked how long would it take for sushi rolls and she said I would wait only "...10 minutes or so". I told her I was on my way. Arrived around 9:05pm and walked in to order in person and was told right when I walked through the door that "...they were no longer taking orders". What the fuck? I told the staff there that I just got off the phone with a lady about 20 minutes ago who said It would be ok for me to come down and order and that I just drove from American Canyon. The lady asked the man who had his back turned to me and again said "..sorry they are not taking any more orders..." and that "...everything is shut down..." Why are you shutting everything down at 9pm if you close at 9:30pm? If I knew they were going to lie to me and waste my time, I should have just drove straight to MATSURI. If you're looking for a quick sushi fix in Vallejo Yo Sushi is a more popular spot. It's no Omakase but it's a wide variety of Japanese food from rolls, bento boxes, and udon. One of the more better places to order large platters for events and groups of people without having to travel so far. My brother placed an order online before picking it up and it was busy for a Friday evening as usual. We got the Lion King roll which has baked salmon on top and takes a little longer, I got the rainbow roll with has a variety of sashimi on top of a basic roll, and my nephew got the chicken teriyaki. The food and service isn't bad but it's also a popular place. Definitely a spot to hit up if you're in the Glen Cove area. read more
