The moment me and my partner came in around 9:00 we were immediately met with a server. From the beginning she seemed a little annoyed that we came in but after looking at her watch she permitted us to be served. We got our bowl and did the usual not thinking too much of it. The issue began when I paid before us being seated because of the time. After seeing that I did not leave a tip she rudely asked "no tip?" and then I replied with "I chose not to." She proceeded to get more aggressive demanding we leave a tip and saying things such as "this is America" and "you have to take your food to go if you do not tip." After feeling the tension in the air, my partner kindly said that we can go somewhere else and kept apologizing, however it seemed like the server was not letting us go despite the food was just brought in to the kitchen and couldn't have been possibly cooked yet. Soon after what I assume to be the manager comes over and attempts to handle the situation by saying me and my partner have to take our food to go if we are not going to tip them because it is a Sunday and they "have to go to the market."My partner asked if it was possible to get a refund but she was very adamant about us not leaving or giving our money back. Overall this interaction was incredibly rude and I do not recommend going to this location. I would have been more than happy to tip if the server was nicer as I was a server before. I also wanted to add that we would have understood the inconvenience being served at 9 PM but the server allowed us to come in despite knowing they close at 10 PM, a whole hour later. As of January 2024, it is $13.99/lb. I've also been to the Carrollton location and it's $14.99/lb over there. The broth is absolutely flavorful and delicious! I get the medium spicy and it's the perfect level for me, it does numb your mouth a little bit. If you're looking for some extreme heat, than the large or super spicy will work better! The service is amazing and the staff is always coming up to check on me! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a lowkey hot pot spot and like to eat alone! The food is weighed on a scale, you choose the spice level you want, and then they cook it for you. After I gathered all my fav things into my bowl, I gave them my bowl and took my number. When the food came out, it was a lot more than I expected haha. Everything was cooked very well and the broth they use is beef based and very rich.
