We had an unpleasant experience here. We came in around 8pm, an hour and a half before the restaurant closed and they were already putting the Mongolian choices away. My cousin Anthony felt awkward asking to place an order because all the things were in the refrigerator already. We found hair on the fish dish when eating. When it was time to pay the lady wouldn't accept our coupon which clearly showed it was valid for the amount of people we brought in and it wasn't expired. With all the times we brought business to this buffet, this time this buffet put a bitter taste in my mouth. I told the host I will not be coming here anymore! I just saw this waitress go ballistic on a customer because she asked for an itemized receipt. Then when the customer asked the individual price of the meal lady Screamed 15.99. This is my go to location when I do not have much to do for the day and I want to drift into a food coma. They have a pretty good selection of sushi, great fried chicken wings and buffalo wings. They have one of the best selections of fruit and desserts for the price they charge. The buffet is about $10 and it is well worth it. The food is of good value. I go to Yichiban mainly for the sushi. I think their closest competitor is King buffet at Glade & 121. The salmon sushi is fresher at Yichiban, with nice, big pieces of good quality fish. The salmon at King Buffet has a slightly cooked texture. One plus for King Buffet is that they put out spicy mayo & eel sauce for customers to use on their sushi. This place is better but also typical of Chinese buffet places. It is clean and had a great variety of food, including crawfish today on the buffet line. Today I was only interested in trying to sushi since it is part of their sign. The sushi isn't bad but not exceptional either, the quality was a little higher than what I expected from a non-sushi buffet place but it wasn't awful either. The only real criticism I have is the wasabi looked dried out on top. I dug deeper to get fresher wasabi. The fresh fruit was great and I also enjoyed the seaweed salad in the sushi section! The earlier reviewer that totally trashed the sushi in his review, I'm not sure what he was expecting but it is not that bad. I didn't experience the same things he did, I have never seen what he described. There was a crunch roll that had the orange colored mayonnaise-based sauce you find on some rolls and a couple of deep fried rolls but that is normal. They weren't greasy or gross, even though I'm not a fan of that sauce, the crunch roll was ok. When I'm craving for exceptional sushi I will go to Zena at the mall even though it take a long time to find a parking spot, but when I'm looking for something quick and a sushi dinner less than $40 (like today), I would come back here. Typical Chinese buffet with less than mediocre food. the wait staff was pushy, there was someone sweeping around the buffet while people were getting food, the sushi looked like it had been sitting out for too long and the buffet was mostly empty. This buffet just opened and the food is actually good. They have spring rolls, ribs and Chinese roasted pork! I have never been to a buffet who offers that! Their chow mien noodles are flavorful compared to other places. Their only downside is the dessert selection, it's very limited. read more

The food wasn't the best and neither was the service. To start of: This was my 1st buffet in Dallas as I recently moved here. The food I got wasn't the best in ways that it was too oily, not enough food options, and you can tell whoever was at the back cooking just didn't care enough to make it taste good. I also came when it first opened on a Sunday and some of the food tasted like it was from last week's cooking. As for service, the waitress I had was friendly, but she seemed to rush me during my meal.... She kept asking if I was ready for the check, just 30 mins. into the meal. The sushi chef was also rude. I am a lover of sashimi salmon and he stopped making it for 15 mins, just because I came back three times! He gave me dirty looks when it was my 3rd time going to get more salmon. The crab smelled like ammonia. We used to like this place. However, the last time my wife and I went there on a Saturday night on 12/29/2018, the quality of the service and food declined. My wife, who is Asian, loves seafood and some of the crab that night had the strong odor of ammonia (also the salmon was hard and dry and my fork had a dried piece of something hard and black stuck between one of the tines). When she brought the ammonia smell to the attention of management, they got really defensive and started speaking in a foreign language. No apology or anything. The lady in front said, "Well, we can't inspect every piece of food." The male cook then began a foreign language conversation with the manager. My wife just left. We will not be back. On our way out, they are usually very friendly. Not this time. Chinese or Vietnamese people are poor when it comes to customer service issues. Moral of the story, if your crab smells of ammonia here- do not complain. They will think you are trying to get free food! read more

Good Food :) too much Drama! :( Just went to this place today. Outside looks like new, inside the place looked clean and the food was good. The wait-staff was spot-on with drink refills and clearing my table between trips. Initially I would have given this establishment 3-4 stars overall and a 5 for service! That was until a disturbance broke out between the Sushi station employee and what appeared to be a customer? This led to a yelling match between the two that resulted in other employees physically blocking the two from making contact. I noted to my server that it might be time to call the police and instead was shrugged off, I don't think he knew what to do. None of the employees attempted to re-assure the rest of the patrons that things were okay, nor when things began to simmer, did the manager or any employee attempt to smooth things out with their guests. In fact the employee involved in this incident was just sent back to his station where he continued to seethe at hearing the customers continued complaints which put me more on edge as he was left alone to again rush back to the entry way to yell again later. In the end I cut my visit short well before desert. This kind of drama I don't need when I want a relaxing lunch on a weekend. It took the customer calling the police himself (Not the manager of the establishment) and Euless PD showed as I was leaving. I understand things happen but this could have been handled better. Regardless if the customer was wrong, the employee should have instead deferred to Management and escaped the situation rather than continuing to instigate or allow it to build up to this point. read more

If I could give a 0 a would. My boyfriend and I dined there this evening and were more than disappointed! He wanted craw legs.... I even called to make sure they had them at the time we were going. We get there and there is barely any out. We both had a few and some other stuff. We wait for more craw legs.... they never bring more out. At this point we can tell they are waiting for us to leave to put more out. At one point they're looking at our table and my bf hears them say our table number. We finally just decide to leave, but he went back in thinking he forgot something..... SURE ENOUGH more craw legs are out!!!!
