a blue and white birthday cake
    Yaya M.

My fav Bakery , the cakes are always amazing ! I choose this bakery for every special birthday celebration. The owner and the employees always make sure my cakes come exactly how i want them . They never fail to make me happy . The best past is that you can order 2 days prior the celebration & it will be ready :) of course I always order at least a week in advance just in case I wanna change anything . The prices are pretty good ! The cake itself taste mazing .

Broadway represents such a melting pot in Queens that this commercial thoroughfare has a dizzying number of ethnic eateries. You can travel to at least four continents on one block if you're really starving. Luckily Jamie W. and I had just enough room to split a $1.35 slice of Coffee Roll Cake at this workaday Chinese bakery that frankly didn't have time to provide customer service. The cake was sadly over-refrigerated. Moving on. FOOD - 2 stars...too cold despite a decent base flavor AMBIANCE - 2 stars...chaotic SERVICE - 2 stars...hello? TOTAL - 2 stars...other continents to conquer on this block RELATED - Exploring Queens? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2ScoR6o

This particular chain is Taiwanese and also has a location in Flushing. Have to this location about a dozen times over the years, generally speaking the quality of buns and pastries are better than most other Chinese bakeries in the area. The price is slightly higher than other places to reflect this too. I like how the flavor of the filling is authentic but isn't as sweet as some other places. The storefront is small and basic--one small room with buns and pastries lined up on the shelves with prices displayed. Cakes (full and sliced) a visible in glass display cases on either side of the register. There is one small table enough for seating 2 people for a quick bite, but this is definitely not a sit-down establishment, most everyone picks up pastries to go.

Ham & American cheese w/lettuce, tomato, egg & tomato! $1.25

Yum! All the buns appear in cute little wicker baskets. They are wrapped in plastic and twinkling. I walked in to buy a ham & egg sandwich w/lettuce, tomato, and American cheese. Note: Chinese style sandwiches do not have overwhelming portions of ham, egg, or anything I mentioned. It is meant for like a light snack. I also decided to procure a cha siu bau (bbq pork bun) to wash down my coffee. This is a sweet bun, not just savory. There is a deal that if you come after 7 pm, that there is a buy 2 get one free deal. Oh and when I went around 5:50 pm, the staff speaks English and Chinese.

Their sweet raisin bread, sweet cheese bread and even plain white bread are fantastic!! If you've never tried Chinese white bread, give it a whirl----it is denser than the white Wonder bread I was used to from childhood. It makes fantastic French Toast! They also sell a little six pack of rolls that have a pocket of butter in the center that are incredible. Very inexpensive, go and try some of the PRE packaged treats...you can try one coconut roll or one hot dog bread. . I know that a lot of Yelpers have rated them very poorly based on their cakes, so please keep in mind that my review is based totally on their breads which are consistently fresh and even warm out of the oven. I am not a big fan of Chinese style sponge cakes which is what they offer here. However, if you love bread, this place is a carbohydrate lovers Utopia!!

Not as terrible as the other review. First they got an A from our dept of health. Does that mean that they are actually clean? You make that decision. Also, they have a good enough selection for the size of the store. The breads were fresh and everything is bought inside plastic. It is a standard bakery and they don't cost as expensive as the fay dat counterpart by a difference of ten to twenty cents. So I'm giving them four stars in order match out the one star below in order to average then out to what they really are. This store is a standard three star.

I've become a regular with ordering cakes for different family events (engagement parties to birthday parties). The TARO vanilla cake is DELICIOUS!!! Right amount of sweetness on the cream and soft taro between the two layers of spongy light vanilla cake. Honestly the creme actually taste like what creme should be! Milky, right texture, and very rich in flavor and I'm not exaggerating. I've tasted cakes from Chinatown to flushing to 8ave Brooklyn to all over Elmhurst. This creme can matched up with Yeh's bakery (my favorite green tea cake spot). Majority of Chinese cakes has a a creme that you can tell it's fake off the bat...like artificial flavoring!! The creme is the first priority of cake, if that's messed up then The whole cake is garbage, because the creme is usually incorporated into the layers. Next the vanilla layer has to have the vanilla, eggy, milky taste. This place definitely has both. I would be back to ordering more! They also take customized orders!! And the designs are simple and neat!! And price range from 20s for 8" cake!! A must try!! PS: please call the day before to request the taro cake. I did a last minute request and had to substitute for a fruit vanilla cake. So for special orders and unique toppings I would advise to call a day in advance. I will definitely do business here again!

Makes no sense when the bakery near Broadway has so many customers, yet this one runs the same deal and has tons of pastries left.

I decided to try their Coconut Pandan cake which was enjoyable except for the jelly they had in the middle. The cake itself was pretty moist and the cream had a nice Pandan flavor. The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft. I have to go back to grab another when I get the chance!

There was a tray of Tee-Doy decided not to buy any of them because they were all hard. Got 2 of the fish sandwiches and 2 of the chicken sandwiches. The prices for both sandwiches and bun have jumped up since January. I stopped here to get items for family and relatives/friends. Not impressed with their chicken sandwiches for they were hard and there is tendon in one other chicken sandwich has area that was not edible. The quality definitely not what it use to be here. There were lots of seats and tables for patrons to sit. Notice less foot traffic at this store.

We came by the day before Mother's Day, so they had pre decorated Mother's Day cakes. You can also place an order. Service is quick and friendly. We initially planned on getting a Strawberry Shortcake, as that seemed to be the cake to get. However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!
