As a regular at the Doraville location, I wanted to give the Duluth location a try during their soft opening. First off, this location is much bigger! The new spot is located on Pleasant Hill behind Red Lobster, in the old Slutty Vegan location. Everything is pretty much the same as the Doraville location the same sauces, meats, and drinks. I ordered my usual broth, the Classic Herbal Beef Broth, medium spicy.Unfortunately, the broth was a little disappointing this time. It lacked flavor and tasted almost watered down. That rich, strong beefy flavor that I love just wasn't there. The service was super slow, and everything felt so unorganized. The check-in kiosk wasn't working either, and there were several servers just yelling back and forth at each other. Overall, it was a pretty chaotic experience. I'm going to give them about a month or so to get everything settled before I give it another try. For now, I'll stick with my go-to spot in Doraville!

YGF is my favorite place to go to in Atlanta. I am glad that they opened a second location in Duluth because the Doraville one is always packed as well. It can be a little bit pricey, but it definitely hits the spot when you are craving some malatang. The vibe is pretty casual and the food comes out quick.

I love the original beef broth soup flavor. It has a lot of numbing and some spicy, lots of flavor. Makes everything taste great. Also I really love their sauce bar. Fast service as well and I enjoy all the variety of meat and vegetable options we can choose

Grand opening, the tote bag was super cute and comes with a coin pouch. They still have some things they need to work out, meat was still frozen, missing serving utensils, but still the same YGF experience I know and love.

Newly opened YGF in Duluth! More seating than the Doraville location. The classic herbal beef broth is really good.

10/10 the broth was flavorful. The service was friendly and attentive as well. Definitely a great spot for hot pot.

My wife and I were craving Szechuan chicken for lunch, and since she wanted to try a new matcha tea…read morespot in Duluth, we decided to turn it into a little date day. We found a restaurant not far from the matcha shop. It felt more like a Chinese takeout spot than a traditional sit-down restaurant, so there wasn't much to speak of in terms of decor. We decided to share everything we ordered. The first dish we tried was the Szechuan noodles. The flavor was excellent, but unfortunately, the dish arrived only lukewarm, as it appeared to have been sitting for a while before being brought to the table. Next, we ordered soup dumplings, but the restaurant accidentally brought out pan-seared dumplings instead. Thankfully, they let us keep them while they prepared our original order. The pan-seared dumplings were actually very good--piping hot and full of flavor. When the soup dumplings finally arrived, they were decent but didn't quite live up to the pan-seared version and lacked the same level of flavor. Finally, our Szechuan chicken arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy with a great spice profile that delivered the classic Szechuan kick without being overwhelming. It was served with fried rice, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was good but not exceptional. The food had some strong points, especially the Szechuan chicken and pan-seared dumplings, but the restaurant ultimately felt more like a solid Chinese takeout spot than a destination dining experience.

We were greeted quickly at both the door and table. For a dumpling house, there weren't that many options for dumplings. We order two types of dumplings, a noodle dish and an entree on recommendation of the staff. The pork soup dumplings were very soupy on the inside and had a good flavor. The pan fried bao dumplings were alright but morning to write home about; I thought the bun to filling ratio was good for a bao though. For noodles we got the house rice noodles. I typically don't order this but I thought it was really well done with a good ratio of ingredients and flavor. Lastly we ordered the sales egg pork ribs. They were cut to bite size pieces but that's deceptive since they were bone in. Some pieces were all bone and some all meat. While the flavor was good, some might call it dry and the cut made it difficult to eat. While the seasoning for all the dishes were flavorful, I thought the salt was a little heavy. Overall the restaurant was clean with a semi modern decor. The staff were all friendly and tried to be helpful throughout the visit. I'd give it a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Overall, we were impressed with their service and food preparation more than the food itself, all the dishes were good, but no dish stands out to my expectations for a Michelin Bib Gourmand, so the price as well. Here was our experience: Appetizer-Signature Salted Chicken: the skin was crispy; we ordered Steamed Pork Dumplings outside of regular menu, it's so so; main dish - Mapo Tofu W. Minced Pork: taste good, tofu was very soft; Stir-Fried Pork Belly with Green Pepper: pork part was good, pepper was on the raw side, not matching the pork; soup - Tofu and Veggies Duck bone Soup: taste diluted with more water; Desert - Peach Gummies with Tremella: cold and smooth. I feel like to give 3 and half stars, but 4 stars anyway.

We ordered chicken with Shanghai bok choy that was as good or better than any I've had in Chinatown in SF. Super garlicky and that "cooked in a hot wok" Cantonese flavor that I crave. It wasn't greasy, the chicken was white meat, and it was incredibly hot and fresh. The icing on the cake - a great portion and price. We will return anytime we are in the area! Tip for anyone who likes shellfish: buy your lobster or crab from the market (sometimes on excellent sale) and bring it raw and in the bag. They will clean and cook it for you Hong Kong style - it's just $6/lb. We saw a gentleman bring a large bag and then they set up the dining area for a family dinner with a tablecloth and chopsticks and it looked so good!!

The restaurant was super busy and had lots of take out and catering orders as well which was a good sign. Our server told us it was busy and our order may take longer than usual; it was worth the wait! We got fish with black bean sauce first and were pleasantly surprised. The fish dish was filled with fresh peppers and onions with tender white fish in a delicious brown sauce and served with rice. Excellent dish. Our second dish was seafood ho fun (flat rice noodles). This dish was served fresh and piping hot with shrimp, squid, fish, green veggies, and black mushroom along with other ingredients server on top of a bed of broad rice noodles. We were pleasantly surprised at how well prepared this dish was and the amazing wok hei flavor. The menu is extensive and we will definitely be back again!

PEKING DUCK - $43.95 It's the same 2-course meal where they will bring the whole roasted duck and then slice in front of you, then serve w/ the crepe wraps, thinly sliced onions and cucumbers, and hoisin sauce. The crispy skin is the best part, yum! For the 2nd course, we did the salt-n-pepper stir fry ... next time we'll just do the regular stir fry. As you can see from the photo, there really wasn't that much meat in the stir fry, everything felt pretty charred, and what meat was there was super salty. The first course was the highlight! FYI they charge $5 if you order more wraps. JAPANESE TOFU CLAY POT - $19.95 This was so delicious - they use silken tofu so it just melts in your mouth. The sauce includes minced pork too - very good w/ rice! I loved this dish! STIR FRIED YU CHOY - $18.95 We wanted some greens - I thought it was just ok. BRAISED CHICKEN W/ GINGER - $22.95 Good flavor but it's boned chicken and there are also tiny bone bits throughout ... we found it stressful to eat b/c you really have to be careful. I wouldn't order this again. Overall great spot for family-style dining. Very extensive menu - almost overwhelming! FYI they charge $5 for tea. Our server was very helpful and honest w/ his recommendations - thank you!

It's modern, chic, and stylish; you almost feel like you've stepped into a completely different part of Duluth. I think it's a great date spot because it's such a cute upscale atmosphere paired with amazing food. We ordered the mala pot with beef only (no shrimp, with extra beef), special lamb skewers, special beef skewers, and a seafood boil with shrimp, clams, mussels, octopus, corn, and lotus root slices. Everything was amazing, but let's focus on the lamb skewers for a second. I have never liked lamb, and this was the first time I've ever genuinely enjoyed the flavor of lamb without that strong gaminess. The texture was also amazing. You can already tell the beef skewers are going to be good, but somehow I actually liked the lamb more than the beef... which I never thought I would say! This was my first time here btw, so the menu and ordering process felt a little overwhelming. The shrimp looks pretty but it's just takes too much effort to eat it. The real reason to come here are for the skewers though. The lamb and fatty beef are good. They are not the best skewers but still great. Would I come here again? Yes but only with friends. It's quite a drive but it's in a nice shopping center.
