Stopped by after wandering around the Wharf. Ordered a dessert that looked too pretty, I legit loved it. Coffee was smooth too. A little expensive, but honestly was worth it. read more

Customer service is very good from the counter to the managers. The space is a bit small when ordering and the line frequently goes outside. The line moves quite quickly, so don't let it discourage you. The food is good and comes out quick. I've had breakfast and lunch, finding the food to be good. The lunch pitas are good with the wood fired finish but I found them to be underwhelming compared to breakfast. The coffee was also good but again, I didn't notice anything to stand out for their special coffees. I am comparing this place to mostly small middle eastern restaurants run by family, so the bar is set high. The one thing that sets it apart is that oven and customer service! read more

Everything is delicious here!!!! Get the batatas!!! Lamb shoulder and falafel pita were so flavorful that no sauce was needed. Would definitely go back. read more

Have yet to try the food but the service is amazing. I went in and the girl working behind the counter answered all the questions I had about the menu, history, etc. Looking forward to trying it--everything looked delicious. read more

The place is really cute. The service staff were polite. It was my first time there. Ordered the batatas (crispy potatoes) & the falafel pita which came up to $32. In my opinion, def overpriced for what was given. The falafel looks good but it's dry. Did not taste the tahini. The veggies in it are like par cooked. Falafel looks fresh but very bland. The overall flavor is a 5/10. The Batatas are yummy. Loved the crispiness of the squares. The sauce was not my jam. But I'm sure someone likes it. Only way I can describe it is like creamy barley. It just wasn't for me. But someone might like it. Potatoes by itself is 8/10. Maybe I might go back to give it another chance. Idk. The service was great. Love the cashiers. They are nice. Just not too fond of the price and flavor of the food. We will see. read more

At first I was like, what kind of coffee spot doesnt have creamer for coffee?? Might be the first of its kind. For that reason i cant give it 5 stars. Me and my friend split a chicken pita and bbq lamb pita as well. It was simply amazing. Tons of flavor. Both were equally as good. Honestly, i would come back just for the pita and get a drink somewhere else. read more

Yum yum yum yum!!!!! What a special addition to Union market. We've had quite a few things from here and everything has been amazing. I think my favorite thing has been the orange blossom croissant. It's the right amount of sweet and savory. Their coffee is also great. Service is always super friendly and there's lots of seating options and they play fun music. I'm curious about the pickup window I'm not sure how that works. My one complaint is that you can't order coffee online for pickup for some reason? read more

A friend suggested I try Yellow during my visit, mentioning their write up in WaPo as best breakfast sandwich. So.. here I am. Sitting in Yellow on a busy Sunday morning, clearly not the only person who heard the same thing. I arrived about 10:20 to a crowded spot, but minutes later the line was out the door and past the storefront. I get hangry so I am not one to take a snap before diving in, so let me just say that the pic you would have viewed was of a round golden pastry adorned with parsley and mint (eat the mint, it adds just the right flavor). Slice into the steamy goodness and you see the spiced tomatoes and ultimately the perfectly cooked egg. So I have no idea whether WaPo spoke the truth about sandwiches but do know I will pop back by before I head home to check them out! read more

This place is decent, I wasn't blown away by anything but glad I finally tried it. The food was ok, I had the chicken pita and Levantine pickles side, overall pretty under seasoned. I also had the cardamom iced coffee, which was meh. The ordering was pretty unclear, since it was so busy you couldn't distinguish between the ordering line and line to get in. Also once you order you have to wait til you hear your name, but given how busy it was it's difficult to hear over the crowd. The communal seating was interesting, but they have lots of seating options inside which is good. read more

Don't be deterred by the long lines (but do read the menu online first and be prepared with your order). The service moves surprisingly fast considering how busy they are on weekend mornings. I got a zatar croissant. It had great zatar coverage on the top but the filling wasn't spaced evenly. Almost half of my croissant had zero filling and then the second half had too much filling. read more

The space is filled with laptop campers. There is no place to sit and enjoy your lunch. Horrible. A lady walk to me while I was half way into my sandwich and asked me if I could leave her take over the table because she has a zoom call for her business. Management is non existent. Not going back to this place read more

Hands down the best breakfast in the Union Market area. Everything is so flavorful and the espresso drinks so good. Hard not to spend a $100 here in one go, not because it's expensive but because you order one thing and it's so delicious, you go back for something else. Also, the egg and kefta pita sandwich is stellar. If you haven't tried it, get over there now and let it rock your world for a minute or two. read more

I would give this place 6 stars out 5 if it was possible. It's clear there is a Michelin star chef behind this. To prove to you it was so good, we went back in line 3 times to order more good food. Our orders: Zaatar croissant with Labneh filling. Date coffee cake Baklava latte Smoked chai latte Pitta sandwich with chicken & amba Pitta sandwich with smoked cauliflower. The best was the cauliflower sandwich. And to finish I got a tiny box of baklava. Shout out to the waiter who helped me with the line to get it but I can't remember his name. Damn good place in DMV. read more

I've been to the Georgetown location several times, and I'm so happy they've open one closer to where I live! The union market location is just as delicious as the original. The chicken kebab pita is divine and the orange blossom croissant just melts in your mouth! They're always busy but the service is very efficient. read more

I like the idea but I don't see this becoming a regular spot for me. Maybe because I went the week of their opening and things were still a little disorganized, like they didn't know how they wanted people to line up to order and ended up asking us to line up outside. I haven't been back since, maybe things are going a but smoother now. The place is cute, the food is decent but perhaps a little overpriced. read more

The coffee was good, the baclava was good. But honestly, 5 stars for the vibes of this shop. Whoever designed their brand, aesthetic, interior, graphics, etc., you did an extremely good job and I am super impressed. Proud of you. read more

Great potatoes. I like the yellow decor in this place! And the coffee is solid, with lots of options for speciality drinks.

Omfg the dips enough of a reason to go. You should know this is not the flatbread pizza spot. But it was delicious and I would 100000% go back. The only criticism I have is the seating is not big back friendly and it was a little uncomfy if your thighs are more Costco hot dogs instead of cocktail wieners read more

The food was so DELISH, as well as the coffee beverage!! Service was good and the vibe was really kool. I will definitely go back!!!

The food here does not disappoint. I am a picky eater and am finding my way through the menu, which I never do. It smells amazing once you're in the restaurant and it's an open concept, open seating. All of the baristas are knowledgeable of the menu and stay updated on what is out of stock. TRY THE LAMB PITA! read more

Went for dinner "all the kebabs" The food is good. But the vibe and service are, in my one experience, not great. We had a two top and the options there are either very low tables and seats in the "lounge" , or sitting at a high up table far across from each other. So it's either hunch down all night to eat, or shout at eachother all night. Because the music is SO loud during dinner service that it makes everyone in the small place shout, and the noise is deafening. When we got seated in the "lounge" we'd been working all day our backs couldn't take it. We got some attitude about changing tables. We also got an expiration for how long we cld eat if we changed. That's fine! But I couldn't hear a word my gf was saying unless we leaned across and yelled. Eventually we gave up and just ate in silence. Then we couldn't help but notice the amount of attention that the 4-6 tops got. It was significantly different. It's a place where you order as you go, mezze style. Small things. We got our pickles, and hummus... but 20 minutes later, still no chance to order more. Meanwhile the 4-6 tops seemed to always have the attention of our server. We eventually flagged them down, and they seemed annoyed. We didn't order any alcohol, we're a 2 top, we're sharing dishes, and it's a classic thing- our check will be X amount and so their tip will only be X amount. The better service goes to the better projected check. If this were a fast casual kind of place it'd be like who cares-- but you can easily spend $50 per person here. It wasn't fun to eat there and that's a shame because the foods good. Oh well. read more

Great pastries and coffee. Shop get crowded please go early. Pastries were fresh for days.

The review said at all. What more can I possibly say? This is in my top five favorite places to eat anywhere. The lamb pita is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The lamb cheesesteak, which was a special, was possibly the best sandwich ever. I crave it and they haunt me with it. For as busy as the place is, the people are really cool and service is always on point. Great vibes there. read more

I tried out Yellow for their new dinner kebab service and from the first bite of the brisket hummus, I knew the meal would be excellent. I was not disappointed. The short rib was so flavorful with fresh olive oil taste, the short rib was so good it tasted like bacon. We also tried the carrot meze meal which had good flavor variety and texture variety with warm carrots and uncooked cold carrots. The kebabs while simple were delicious and expertly seasoned. I got the chicken thigh kebab and my husband got the lamb kebab. Both meats were flavorful and filling. The one thing I will add is that the kebabs don't come with any sides automatically, so you have to add rice or tabouleh or potatoes. We ordered the rice and while it didn't add much to the kebabs, it was still good to have a starch. I would have loved to try the potatoes or the tabbouleh, but that's for my next visit. Can't wait to try the rest of their dinner menu! read more

Delicious coffee (espresso based). Have gone a couple times with friends. Does take a little bit of time, so fyi on the wait It's not a spot I would personally go to on the weekends, it's very clearly popular so the lines are long, but if you are able to go other times it's worth going to! And if you don't mind lines - wait The food on the menu also looks delish so I need to go back to eat some of the food. I did have a pastry and it was sooooo good! The decor is wonderful as well, as are the variant seating areas. Some tables, some more chill lounge areas, some booths. A nice variety! read more

YELLOW YELLOW YOU'RE LIKE A COOL FELLOW WITH A VIBE THATS SUPER MELLOW. It's what you expect from the extraordinary team at Albi and the G-Town location. The hits - go for the cauliflower pita and ask them to make it salad bowl style (gluten free). The tahini sauce drizzled over the mixed greens and roasted cauli - unbeatable. This place is a packed mad house so allow time if you're trying to grab a "quick" bite. Best days / time to swing by are easily M-Th between 1-3pm. Also, don't sleep on their fermented pickled veggies. It's the simple things with Yellow! read more

The smoked amba chicken was a feast of flavors stuffed into a pita. I'll be returning, for sure. Seating was limited and the dining room is loud. Service was friendly and fast. read more

Closer to a 3.5 - this is a review for the All the Kebabs dinner service. The vibe here is really cool, and the service is super attentive. For one person, I had: - Carrots (3.5) - fine but unmemorable - Arayes (3.5) - not as flavorful as I would have expected - Lamb kefta (3.5) - solid but unspectacular - Olive oil cake (4.5) - this dessert was absolutely fantastic, being crumbly and moist at the same time, with a great combination of honey, pistachio, and faint rose water flavors. read more

I recommend Yellow. We came around 10 am on Sunday and waited less than 15 min in line to order. I recommend the Zataar Egg Croissant, Lemon Sumac cruffin, and Halva Honey latte. We got the Jammy Egg to go, which reportedly was delicious too. The ambiance was bustling with a conversant crowd. read more

Fantastic, fresh, consistently excellent food. Service is good and welcoming too, which makes a difference. The decor has a nice vibe. When I am not able to make it there, I order food delivered (the delivery app Yellow uses isn't great - I wish they would switch to Door Dash - but that's how much I love the food). read more

There's a lot of hype around this spot, some of it deserved. The kabobs arrive fresh and piping hot off the grill, and the pita is puffy, warm, and a standout. I could easily eat a whole basket of them. The duck kabob was a bit under-seasoned and could've used more char from the grill, though I assume they're aiming to avoid overcooking it. The space has a fast casual vibe that doesn't match the prices. read more

Great place! After the chaos of the grand opening of this location calmed down, it's a great place to pick up food and work from. Food is delicious and fresh read more

Probably because of the time (noon-one), the cafe was super busy but still enjoyable with enough space to stand and have a conversation. The food was so fresh and came out decently quick. The falafel was crisp just like the name, and the flavors in the pita can't be beat. read more

Solid 3.5 casual cafe location. Nice to stop by and try once, but don't go out of your way to visit for breakfast Great: - Breakfast shakshuka: the pita that comes with this was so fluffy and flavorful; highly recommend - The sauce that comes with the batatas is deliciously garlicky, highly recommend getting a side of that to dip with just about everything Good: - Coconut cold brew: not too sweet; light coconut froth on top - Breakfast egg pita: a nice soft scrambled egg tucked inside a soft warm pita and other accompaniments; but not as interesting as the breakfast shakshuka Passable: - Croissant Za'atar: the flavor was good but the croissant was not flaky; didn't taste fresh even though it was purchased in the morning - Orange blossom croissant: similar to the other croissant, not flaky and a bit lackluster; tastes vaguely liked a glazed donut with barely a hint of orange - Batata - a bit oily; the sauce is amazing though - Strawberry apricot Madeline: interesting but it was too sweet Other notes: - Decent amount of seating during on a weekday morning - Servers and cashiers are nice - I'd come back to try the bagel and lunch fare! read more

Had a smoked amba chicken pita and tumeric tea. It was to die for, I wish there was one in Michigan. I've tried to make tumeric tea since and nothing comes close. I love yellow so much. Pastries, coffee, iced tea, all amazing. The standout to me is the lamb pits, which comes with mint and a sauce on top that really pops and blends well. Definitely a staple place for me. The owner is also so kind and was in store often, at least in the early days. read more

I had been waiting to try the location on Georgetown so I was excited to find out a location opened up in Union market. The line was out the door as there isn't much area to wait inside but it did move relatively quick. I tried the lamb pita, blossom cookie, and the honey latte. Everything was incredible. I believe someone else grabbed my order but the host/waitress noticed I was waiting a while and got everything sorted out before I had to say anything. read more

Food was good, but service was terrible. They could care less if you are a customer. They know the product is tasty and don't make you feel welcomed. You're better to go somewhere else. read more

The line system is nonexistent. No one really knows how to line up because it's not clearly communicated by design. Some line up along the long table; others line from outside. The employee keeps on telling people where to line up, causing people to cut in or lose their place. That was unpleasant, especially when it's raining outside. I strongly suggest having employees stand and direct people to stand where they need to stand. Or, better yet, have an employee take orders among the crowd and give customers order numbers. read more

All the Kebabs is Yellow's nighttime concept at Union Market, and it is absolutely sensational. I would recommend getting your reservation a week or two in advance: the space is small and reservations fill up quickly! The ambiance was excellent, minimal yet warm and welcoming. The service was incredibly good, and our waitress was very helpful with recommendations. To drink, my partner and I both ordered the Shatta-tini. This was a perfectly elevated take on a dirty martini, and is one of the best martinis I've ever had. The pepper and olive brine was packed with umami and salt, and was an incredible savory pairing with gin. We started with the mouneh, the coal-fired carrots, and the smoked onion pita. The mouneh (pickled veggies and olives) were a great accompaniment for the entire meal, and cut the richness of the dishes perfectly. The coal-fired carrots were my favorite dish of the night. The whipped feta was so creamy, and the carrots had a perfect char. For our main, we got the lamb kefta. The portion is huge. I recommend ordering some kind of pita so you can build bites with the kebab and all its accoutrements. The kefta was so tender and juicy, and we loved the fresh herbs, roasted tomatoes, and sumac onions that accompanied it. The smoked onion pita paired with all of these flavors perfectly. I loved how all the dishes were meant to be shared, so you could try a variety of menu items. To put it simply, this is one of the best meals I've had in DC. Full of creativity and bold favors, All the Kebabs is not one to be missed. read more
