We arrived 15 minutes before opening for Sunday brunch, and we were promptly greeted and inviting inside at 11am. Gotta love that. They do NOT take reservations so I suggest you arrive early with your entire party for Sunday brunch, or wait an hour outside (very little space to wait inside). It'll be worth the wait but I'm just sayin'! Our waiter, Ty, was great. He checked in often, kept our water filled, and quickly got our orders in and served up hot. Our food was amazing. I ordered the strawberry biscuits, but Ty misheard and ordered the flight of biscuits. It was only a few dollars more and honestly, I should've ordered that instead of the single biscuits. It was dessert! Three warm, fluffy, sweet biscuits topped with apple, banana, and strawberry, respectfully. I'd return for those alone. For entrees, we ordered jerk wings, shrimp avocado toast, and shrimp and grits. OMG every bite hit the spot. No notes. Kudos to the "Chopped" winning chef. The place is very cozy and cute inside. I very much love the decor because it's very welcoming. While it's not a big and wide establishment, it's long and there's outdoor covered seating and indoor in the back past the bar and the kitchen. We were one of two parties to go inside as we got there when it opened. Chef Sammy was there and we said hello to all the staff as we walked to our table. The menu QR code is taped to the middle of the table and that makes things easy as well as cuts down on clutter on the table like regular menus add. Our server was Ty and they were very nice and helpful. They made sure to let us know the fried rice has dungeness crab legs on top as I'm sure that has caught a few people by surprise. We ordered the deep fried biscuit flight that contains: salted caramel apple, strawberries and cream, and banana pudding. My favorite was the salted caramel apple because it wasn't overly sweet. The biscuits were light and not dense, so that was very nice. I loved that the frosting on top wasn't so sweet, I imagine it's been cut with marscapone or cream cheese. For entrees, we ordered the strawberry cream french toast and the crab and shrimp fried rice with a side of chicken sausage. The mains were very tasty and the rice was perfectly cooked, then fried. The crab was delicious and the French toast was fluffy and not overly saturated or sweet as it came with the same cream as the biscuit. The chicken sausage was overcooked and dry while also being too sweet, so we didn't finish it. I appreciate that it was homemade. For drinks, I got the brown sugar peach margarita and my date got the maple old fashioned. He said he couldn't taste the maple, but I could. I didn't really get much flavor from the margarita in terms of brown sugar, but it was good and not overly sweet. This place is a complete disaster. We arrived at 6:00 PM and were told the wait would be up to an hour. Nearly TWO HOURS later, at 7:45 PM, we still hadn't been seated. Not once did anyone come over with an update, apology, or explanation. I was treated to this black owned restaurant by a ggf for a birthday treat. We tried to come to this restaurant once before but, it was so crowded and the wait times were too long. So here we are able to officially check out this restaurant with bar seating. This was during the month of July so it was extremely hot in the restaurant and the air conditioner was broken. We were served at the bar by Lakeisha and I would not forget that because everyone has a Lakeisha in their family. The omelette was so good with the creamy sauce on top. First time trying Yebo Kitchen and it was an overall great experience!! Went for brunch on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 11am. It was busy so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. They had cute chairs and a couch for us to sit at while waiting. The servers were so friendly and helpful with recommendations given it was everyone's first time. We sat on the back patio which was perfectly heated. Food- My group tried the shrimp and grits, jerk chicken and waffle, bananas foster waffles and hot cakes. Everyone was very happy with their food. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly hostess. There was a small but comfortable place for is to wait for our table. I've heard amazing things about Yebo. Not just their food but, their desserts. Recently on a Monday, we bought my cousin here for dessert. They looked like they were closing but, they let us in the door. Noah was a gem helping us with our end of night treats. Most of the table ordered the Banana Pudding. It was a Thursday evening, I was part of a party of four and three of us had arrived and they would not sit us without our entire party so that was kind of disappointing. And if you've visited the previous establishment, you'll know the space is really small AND they don't do reservations. So, get there early or you will be waiting for a while. What more can I say?! Yebo is a gem!!! Upon entering we were greeted by the hostess and some of the team. The entire staff is hard working and super friendly the moment you walk in. I love they maintain the bar area as soon as patrons get up to accommodate the next patrons to dine/drink. The decor is beautiful and feels warm and welcoming. I felt bad, because he had not eaten all day. By the time it came out, we had already finished everything else. Service was hit or miss. Our waitress seemed stretched thin, covering both the indoor tables and the patio. A few times, she would walk off immediately after we gave part of our order, even when I was planning to add more. We did have to flag her down a few times, including asking for a water refill, and she didn't really check back in to see if we needed anything else. They were busy and we were informed the wait could be 40 minutes however we were sat in 15 minutes. The waitress was extremely slow. The drinks are pricey however, I was pleasantly surprised that I only needed one. I was not a big fan of the flavoring of the oxtails however they were cooked tender. My family was also not a fan of green onions being added as a garnish to almost every dish. We made it in time to order from the Happy Hour menu, tried the Brussels, Honey Cilantro Wings, and the Peach Bourbon Smash... all of it was amazing. Yeiboh has definitely been on my list for quite some time. I've seen it all over social media, and the food always looked absolutely delicious. So my sister and I decided to finally check it out for brunch. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype. Let's start with the atmosphere. It was underwhelming, to say the least. The restaurant is very small. While there is a patio area that accommodates additional guests, the interior felt extremely cramped. More importantly, it was hot, uncomfortably hot. To the point where customers were visibly sweating and even removing layers because of the heat. It made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. As for service, it was standard. Our waiter wasn't rude or unpleasant, but there was nothing memorable or engaging about the service. No menu recommendations, no guidance, nothing that stood out. For drinks, we started with the lychee peachy martini, which was enjoyable. For our starter, we ordered the deep-fried strawberry shortcake biscuits. These arrived within five minutes of ordering and were light and enjoyable. For our mains, we ordered the hotcakes with a side of brown sugar chicken sausage, along with Chef Sammy's shrimp and grits. The hotcakes were beautifully presented and appeared to be one of the most popular items on the menu, as we saw them delivered to multiple tables throughout our visit. Visually, they looked fluffy, indulgent, and inviting. However, the first bite was disappointing. They were unexpectedly salty, which was surprising for a dish that leans heavily into sweetness. Despite their airy appearance, the pancakes were quite dense. The syrup also carried a subtle saltiness, and the only truly sweet component was the sweet cream on top, which helped make the dish more palatable. Overall, I was not impressed. I barely ate it, took the rest home, and ultimately discarded it. The brown sugar chicken sausage was extremely sweet, almost candied. I assumed the brown sugar would be subtly infused into the sausage, but it tasted more like a coating. If you enjoy very sweet, candied flavors, you might like it, but it wasn't for me. Chef Sammy's shrimp and grits was another letdown. When a restaurant labels a dish as a "Chef's" item, expectations are naturally higher, you expect it to represent the best of what the kitchen offers. While they were generous with the shrimp and sausage, the dish lacked flavor. You could smell the Cajun seasoning when it hit the table, but unfortunately, the flavor didn't translate to the palate. It was simply lackluster. What truly sealed the experience for us was how brunch service ended. Brunch ends at 3:00 PM, and it was very clear they were transitioning for dinner service. Around 2:48 PM, as guests began to leave, it felt like remaining customers were being rushed out. The music, barely noticeable during the entire meal, was suddenly turned up extremely loud. It created an uncomfortable environment and felt unprofessional, as if it was meant to push guests out rather than respectfully close out service. Overall, I'd rate Yeiboh a 3 out of 10. The food did not meet our expectations, and personally, we won't be returning. While I understand that taste and flavor are subjective and others may have a different experience, this one fell flat for us. I have no complaints about the environment, food, nor service. Everything was impeccable. The environment I was used to because I went to the previous iteration of this space, Church Bar. Looks very similar and I wonder if all the decor and furniture stayed put when the old owners left. Yebo Kitchen's owner and all the staff there were super pleasant and accommodating, whether I was at the bar or seated at a table. I'd had my eyes on the lamb fried rice entree, and decided to order it. SO GLAD I DID! The BEST PART of the entree was the rice. It was so well seasoned! I've never had rice like that before. I ate every morsel of rice off that plate. This isn't to say the rest of the entree wasn't amazing, because it was...just that rice tho. It deserved a personal shout out! I had made reservations early May, but they no longer take reservations. They still honored ours on a Saturday morning right when they opened. The service is super friendly and kind. We got seated right away in their backroom, which was well decorated and really trendy. We had 2 waitresses who took turns taking our order/bringing us food. My husband ordered a coffee while I got the passionfruit ginger crush. My mocktail was delicious, really sweet but pretty refreshing. I would skip the coffee. It was some sort of French vanilla flavored coffee, maybe a Keurig thing, and wasn't the best. A suggestion for them may be to have regular coffee, even a French press? Especially for brunch. For our appetizers, we got the biscuits and the chicken in waffles. The biscuits were fine, but the chicken was absolutely the star. It was fresh out of the fryer. Well seasoned and breaded. The hot cakes were SO buttery and fluffy and just delicious. You really can't go wrong with butter. The shrimp and grits were a HUGE portion and so flavorful. We couldn't stop eating it. I would go back there just for the shrimp and grits. The steak was fine. The potatoes it came with had a craggly outside and was our favorite part, but I would get the shrimp and grits/hot cakes over the steak. I was excited to try Yebo kitchen as I came across it on tik tok. Nestled in Baltimore proper this venue has a front and back patio, bar seating and dining area. The staff here was nice and the food came out fast, a little too fast as we got our appetizers ans entrees within minutes of each other. Unfortunately the food was not hot honestly. Here is how I rank the food Jerk wings - 7.5/10 - good flavor and has a kick Lamp chops -8/10 - the veggies had too much soy sauce Crab egg rolls 8/10 - def would have them again Pasta- 6/10 - past and meat ratio was lacking and this dish was luke warm. I came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm. It was BUSY and there was a line out the door for people waiting to be seated. I didn't mind because they are a new restaurant and I was expecting a wait, especially on a Sunday. My friend and I only waited for about 10 min or less and we were at the front waiting to be seated. The inside is very beautiful but we opted to sit outside because the wait was less. We were basically seated right away after that. The hostess was very friendly and apologized for the wait anyway. I got a Sangria and kale Caesar salad to start. They did originally put in the wrong kale salad but it was fixed without an issue and the right one came out pretty quickly. Because it was very busy there was a decent wait to receive your meals and appetizers. So much so that the food came out sporadically and not necessarily in order. The bar was also backed up so getting drinks took a while as well. Despite the wait, the food was delicious. I really really enjoyed my Caesar kale salad. The dressing was creamy, iykyk!!! I also ordered hot cakes with a side of bacon. The bacon was not cooked crispy which I didn't really like. It was pretty light skinned but I still ate it and picked around the fatty parts. The hot cakes were sooo good. Crispy edges, dense but kind of fluffy and sweet. The vanilla crème on top was good as well. I would absolutely order it again. I did try my friends jerk wings and they were okay. I don't think I would order them myself though. The table next to us was a good time and they let me try the banana split desert. It was very very good!! Nice and sweet and refreshing! The sangria was good as well, no complaints there. Overall, I would definitely come back to try the lobster fried rice and many other items. I came for happy hour and to chill with friends on a Thursday evening . About 15 minutes after opening there was not much of a crowd, but it started to pick up more between 6:30 and 7:30pm. The prices are on the more expensive side for what you get, but I guess it makes up for it in ambience, especially on the back deck. GLOWS: -They have a variety of seating options, from the front patio to the back patio. -There is music playing on both patios (although I think the playlist looped 3 times in our short stay in the front, so more songs could be added) ---- There is a DJ in the back (on Thursdays only I believe) -The jerk wings were really good! GROWS: -During happy hour, if the hostess would make clear the areas in which happy hour is available, it would save some time and confusion when picking where to be seated for the evening. I came specifically for happy hour, so I had to do some moving around. -The mint lemonade from the sober bar menu was very syrupy and thick. Cutting back on the sweetener and adding club soda, making it a spritz, would make it more refreshing. read more
