Due to the great reviews, I went here to grab a few pastries yesterday. I got a slice of the boston cream pie, green tea roll, pineapple cakes, and chicken pie. The boston cream pie was light, airy, and fluffy. It was similar to a sponge cake with some whipped cream inside. It was not sweet at all. It was delicious. The green tea roll was also light and had some matcha flavor to it. The pineapple cakes were also good although I wasn't sure if they were made in house or they were imported from Taiwan. Minus one star for the chicken pie. It had so much onions in it and hardly any chicken. It wasn't crispy either. read more

Actually, I have never been inside the store. I had either waited in the car (double parked by the way) while my wife went inside and ordered the food, or she would bring them home with her. But it doesn't mean I can't do a review on the food. I don't really have a sweet tooth, and most American deserts don't interest me with their high sugar content. But I like this place's pastries because they are not too sweet. But bakeries are not the only thing they do. One of my favorite item from this place was their Curry Puff. It's got curry beef cooked inside a nice puff. The curry was not overpowering so it doesn't mess up with your palate. Other than the curry puff, The egg tarts were delightful. I specially enjoy the pastries on the outside. I haven't tried any of their Taiwanese cakes yet, which they are famous for, but i am sure they are delicious. read more

Strawberry, turnip cake! Classic, unique, delicious and cannot get anywhere else. The turnip used is a potato/ yam like texture so it's a delish filling for this cake. Not too sweet, just perfect. Got a cake for my cousin here and it's pretty good. My grandma isn't a fan of cakes since most frosting/icing on cakes are sweet, but she was able to eat a whole slice! The green tea cake was very fluffy, delicious, and didn't have an overpowering green tea flavor to it. It was also nicely decorated with different fruits! But recently I got a green tea cake and you can definitely taste that it is a day old cake. I grew up celebrating with these made-to-order fruit in the middle fluffy melt in your mouth pound cake birthday cakes because the cakes that are displayed for purchase do not come with the fruit in the middle. You have to ask for them and the baker will gladly assemble one to your liking while you wait outside. They have been around for YEARSSSS...and their selections fly off their shelves. It's a small place but a real hit among the neighborhood. The cakes come in different sizes and flavors but the more popular flavors (strawberry, green tea, and taro) sell out quickly. If you give them a call a few hours before closing, they may accommodate and bake a fresh cake for you to pick up before closing. And they also take special requests and make cakes for larger groups which often happen with Asian family gatherings. These guys are known for their airy pound cakes, flaky pastries and cream pies. The cakes are squishy and soft with just the right amount of cream filling and cream frosting. The pastries are pretty awesome, but the cookies not so much. These "traditional' cakes are faves among the older generation of Asians because its not too sweet and each bite almost melts in your mouth. My husband LOVES this authentic Taiwanese bakery. The chicken rolls are our fave and we love the pineapple cakes (as close to the real thing as we've found so far). We love it so much that we ordered our wedding cake from Yeh's! The order process is super easy and they only need a weeks notice. Being the type A bride that I am, I ordered about 3-4 weeks in advance with Vicky at the bakery. They are cash only and you need to provide your own flowers for décor the morning of or the day prior. Delivery to LIC from Flushing was an additional $40. We wanted a rustic yet simple cake and decided to order a sample version for my mother's birthday since Yeh's had never created such a cake. We were satisfied with how it turned out and proceeded to order a 3 layer (chocolate and vanilla) cake plus an additional sheet cake to feed 150 guests. We paid $350 plus $40 for delivery for an all in cost of $390. The day of delivery was quick and because their frosting is whipped cream, it had to be refrigerated until cake cutting time. The cake was amazing, light and not super sweet. And the design turned out better than we imagined. Super happy and definitely a repeat customer :) read more

Just right. My absolute favorite thing in this place is the Boston Cream Pie. I've been to countless bakeries in the US, Europe and Asia and I have yet to find one that's better than what they have here. Their cream is sweet, but sublime. Not heavy, just right. The actual cake itself is light, almost to an airy texture. A gentle hint of powdered sugar makes this the absolute shining star on the menu. But wait, there's more. They are known for their custom birthday cakes. It was one of my favorite birthday treats at my own parties when I was a kid or at other people's events. Cream that's not too sweet.
