Ye Wool is a small Korean bakery tucked near the corner of a plaza, maybe 20 square feet inside. Parking is available right in front and the rest of a larger lot. It has the typical items and then a few nice looking cakes and some cream puffs in the refrigerated display case. The cakes look very nice and could be a cute dessert for a party, but in this visit I was looking for some small breakfast items. The staff were smiling but quiet. I selected two cream puffs, which were nice and fresh, moderately sweet but not American sweet, would definitely get again. Peanut Cream bread has aroma of PB&J sandwich but in a light and fluffy roll, savory rather than sweet. Haven't seen that anywhere else so I'd recommend trying it if you like peanut butter. Corn Sable seems to be corn bread in a disc form, it's a lot of carbs, I would try other items instead next time. Lastly I got a long Cream Cheese bread that was dusted on outside with flour or powdered sugar (It wasn't as sweet as powdered sugar, but didn't seem to just be flour). I always come here for this hole-in-the wall cream puffs! The custard cream inside the choux pastry is perfectly balanced for me--light yet creamy and not too sweet. Note that their cream puffs are popular so they sell out really quickly. I usually pick some up in the morning. I also like their soboro bread (Korean peanut streusel bread). The sweet bun with a crunchy peanut streusel-like top has great texture and is a joy to eat. They also sell roll cakes, red bean paste stuffed bread, cream custard bread, garlic bread, corn bread, and large celebratory cake (though not as decorative as other bakery shops). The prices here are very reasonable. They take credit cards, but if you pay with cash, they don't charge tax. This bakery is in the same plaza as the Korean Super 1 Mart, so I always stop by here first before grocery shopping. Always coming back! read more

So, I've been coming here for over a year now. Not often, but I do make a point of stopping in when I'm in the area. Still LOVE the black sesame mochi bun, which, if you're a fan of mochi, you'll love the bread-chew here. You need to eat them the same day, as they are not the same the day after and/or I haven't figured out how to bring them back to life. (they get hard) Today, however, I grabbed a tray and got some for a friend also. I tend to pick black bean filled buns and pastry because I'm a TOTAL FAN OF BLACK BEAN. You'll be AMAZED at how filled their buns are!! There is NO SKIMPING here!! I specifically liked the coarse black bean which has a great texture!! Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo, but the lima bean filled cake "manju" (Japanese name) was amazing. It was so fresh and delicious and the lima bean also had great texture. They also had a chocolate meringue cookie that resembled a chewy chocolate cookie I get at another bakery, but theirs was different. Since it was meringue based, it was very crunchy and also had nuts, but not chewy at all. Still great tho!! Next time, I will definitely post photos and I'll be back again soon!! Lots of baked pastries that are traditionally Korean and all delicious : try the creamy custard filled pastry, further and cream flaky type croissant, soft and white fingers of pastry , also carries whole cakes but I haven't had any chance to try those. **December 2023: Saturday Early Afternoon Visit** I had visited this bakery in the past and was in the market for a delicious "not too sweet cake." When I came to Yelp to look at photos some of the recent reviews made me concerned that perhaps the quality had gone down, and that it was no longer what it use to be. I was tasked to get a cake for my mom's birthday and I obviously didn't want to disappoint. Regardless, I decided to take a chance and see for myself. When I entered there were a fairly good selection of cakes. I was super curious to try the sweet potato, but the fruit cake just looked so majestic that I opted for that. I also saw some croquettes that looked as if they were freshly baked so I picked up two of those as well. After I left a swarm of middle-aged asian women flocked to the store to buy cakes, so I'm glad I got mine while the display case still have options. When I saw my parents I gave them each a croquettes and my dad liked it so much he asked me where I got it. I guess when I'm in La Palma I'll be grabbing more of those lol As for the cake - it was a huge hit! The cake itself was moist, soft and spongy, and the cream was fluffy, light and a tad sweeter than Taiwanese bakeries but my whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm somewhat surprised at some of the poor reviews, because I had a really positive experience. For my 10 inch fruit cake it was $38, which I can guarantee you would have costed $50+ at any other Asian bakery, without compromising quality, and the Korean woman who helped me was very nice. We like to always get the half loaf of gombo bang (peanut bread), garlic bread, cream puffs. When we finally picked our bread we go over to the counter and my 8 year old daughter tries to make small talk and tells her that her store is so cute. I got the roll cake here before and it was pretty crumbly and did not taste as fresh. The bread and the pastries are the best go-to here and is cheap compared to most franchises (except 85). The service sometimes feels off as I have been coming here for years.
