TAWDI appeared highly rated, but it was also basically the only choice. Walking in to Mickey Mouse greeting you, it's a very homely, organized, and oddly empty shop with some Middle Eastern influence. They are big on marketing for their Dubai chocolate offerings, which I did try. The lady who helped was very kind, offering us each a sample by the chocolate type we liked. As she explained how they make chocolate in the back daily, I had to inquire about popular selections and what some flavors were. Basically, they seem to focus on Dubai chocolates and have some imported goods from Lebanon. While I trust that they make chocolates daily, I have to question how much, what flavors, and what is being turned over, because the sample I ate and the chocolates I opened up later certainly had obvious chocolate bloom, and yes they were stored at an appropriate temperature and eaten on the same day. At the price these pieces were, they certainly shouldn't have chocolate bloom nor taste like old chocolate. The filling of their Dubai bar was nice, crunchy, and moist, but the exterior chocolate shell didn't really have a taste. I am fine with paying a premium for premium-tasting chocolate and often do it, but I would have preferred eating grocery store chocolate, honestly. I'm not sure what others are tasting or whether people reviewing TAWDI are actually into chocolate, but I was disappointed when I didn't enjoy these.

Ok WHEN I TELL YOU that this is THE premium chocolate experience you will get in this area, you…read moregotta believe me! (So we actually loved our experience last time we promised to leave a review but totally forgot the name of the kind soul that helped us and been meaning to go back to get her name) I had visited a few times before, but didn't feel welcomed or felt like I had to chase someone down to sheepishly ask for a single sample which they begrudgingly handed over while I was the only one in the store. So it was hard to want to buy anything. That is, before Jessica. She was so knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions and offering suggestions to help us find our one true (chocolate) love. We bid adieu and walked out with some purchases of chocolate hopefully to last us a while for the sake of our wallets. So months later, finally, we went back hoping she was there and trying to remember what we liked last time (raspberry blackberry white chocolate and the blackberry dark chocolate for future reference) and would you know it, freaking Jessica chimes in from the side "Yeah last time you guys liked that one." Like wait, excuse me? You see how many people a day, a week, a month, and you remember not only our faces but also what we liked months later?? Floored. FLOORED. Of course, Jessica and the amazing team on Friday night 15 minutes before closing were amazing and happily let us try a few different things so we knew exactly what we wanted to get. We decided on the previous favorites plus the new limited edition hazelnut dark chocolate and the 90% cacao dark chocolate from India. So go check out this location at the Cerritos Mall! You're in for not only a sweet treat, but a sweet connection with people who truly care about the guest experience.

It was milk chocolate with hazelnuts that was simply decadent and delicious, but I must have it in dark chocolate.. Everything in its place boxes and boxes of delectable chocolates abound this chocolatier. What I love most about it is the free samples, of course, it is like Costco, but in chocolate for me. I did get a small block of the dark chocolate with hazelnut and tried about three more of their beautifully handcrafted chocolate bites, they do not skimp. Jessica was patient while I asked questions which she happily answered and tried one of the usual w/ ganache that was OK so I chose some that had some nuts in it. All in all this was a very delightful experience and would joyfully return but with small hesitation because it's just devilishly good & sinful! The chocolates were placed in a glass case the same way precious stones & gems are displayed. Simply fabulous. Had a wonderful time here. Topnotch!

So this is more of a order a go spot, if they don't have enough chairs. It's clean and did smell like baked goods when you come in. The decoration is cute also. I didn't know what to order and so I ordered a Dacquiose with cream and strawberry jam since I've never had one before. The owner described it as a mix of a macaron and cream puff. It was an accurate description. Definitely great texture. Just a little too much cream for my taste due to the sweetness. It was like a butter like cream, and it was sweet. I also got their chocolate chip cookie which was thick. It tasted very similar to a scone and not really like a buttery, crunchy/chewy texture of chocolate chip cookie that I like. A bit bummed that neither dessert wasn't something I liked. Also they don't have any drinks, which is also a bummer because milk or coffee would have gone great with the desserts. I'll probably come back and try something different, but for now either of what I tried really hit. However it's still worthy checking it out, because it might not have been my kind of taste of baked good, but could be for someone else.

We came for afternoon tea on a Sunday and it was about $34 per person, which included a half sandwich with salad or fresh fruit, a drink, a scone, and dessert. The whole space is whimsical, quirky, and full of personality. It does take a little while for the food to come out, but the quality and attention to detail are there when it arrives. The syrups and fruit purées are made in house, and my mom said the hot matcha latte was the best she's ever had. They also sell bouquets, plants, and little confectionary-style gifts, which makes the whole place feel even more charming. Korean-owned small business with very kind and genuine owners.

Thankfully, the line moved pretty quickly, although the bakery itself is small and can feel a bit tight inside. I got a small assortment of pastries, including the Japanini and some of their popular items: the Salt & Butter Roll, Curry Pan, and Kobo Kuma. Everything was warm, fresh, and delicious. I honestly wish I had gotten more. My kids enjoyed everything too. The only item that was a bit disappointing was the Sea Salt Taro Latte. It was a little too milky and sweet for my taste. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more items from their delicious menu!
