    Neapolitan Dipped
    Betty R.

Very cute place. They changed the art in the front window and whomever the artist is AMAZING. Anyway, I have been watching Ted Lasso and Ted brings Rebecca these delicious looking cookies that reminded me of these cookies so I stopped by. When I walked in, it unfortunately did not smell the scrumptious smell of cookies. It smelled like...packaging? But I proceeded to get a few types of cookies, I HAD to have those Ted Lasso "biscuits." So, I chose the walnut chocolate chip, cafe moments and guava dreams. I also got my free dipped cookie for checking in. I decided on the Neapolitan. Let's get down to the merchandise breakdown: -Walnut Chocolate Chip: IYKYK that walnuts in a chocolate chip cookie is PRIMO and these did not disappoint. Bite size, buttery and perfect ratio of chocolate to walnut. This gets Betty's Check of approval. -Cafe Moments: these were so luxurious! The lady that helped me (she did not give her name) told me these are what everyone these eats when they need a little pick me up. I thought it was going to be like a sandy texture, but it was not. Very silky and definitely melts in your mouth. At the end I had a couple of very small coffee bean grinds in my mouth but it was not unpleasant at all. This gets Betty's Check of approval. -Guava Dreams: these were the Tad Lasso cookie look a-likes. What a disappointment. I was waiting for a buttery, soft taste but instead I got an almost stale taste. As I finished the only bite I was able to take, I realized that it tasted like they used ghee instead of butter. Now I did not ask about it, but for me, it was not my preferred taste. The guava filling was sweet and had little chunks in it, very good mouthfeel. I would not buy again. -Neapolitan Dipped Shortbread: I mean I loved the walnut chocolate chip but this was next level! So good! strawberry section was my favorite and with the chocolate covered part it tasted like a chocolate dipped strawberry! This gets Betty's Check of approval. One star down for the smell and for the price, although they are delicious, still a bit pricey.

During a shopping trip at Super Mira in San Francisco's Japantown, I came upon a prominent display (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-FjqKSDHrx_wK6yVBTR4hg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); after a quick look, I shared the photo with my fellow cookie monster and we deliberated on what to try. Feeling guilty in eating quite a bit of sweets of late, I limited myself to one bag to try first. My friend was brave likely hungrier and tried a couple of other flavors. The one that caught my eye was the lemon shortbread cookies (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=z4w3qR3D4SxnjZXVnK32GA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) as it's been a while since I'd had lemon cookies with powdered sugar. I enjoyed them but rationed myself to two cookies per sitting. I like how the fine sugar powder gives a cooling or soothing sensation to the cookie. The lemon flavor was prominent but not overwhelmingly so. I have not spoken with my friend yet about hers yet. I hope this display is still up on my next visit so I can try some other flavors.

Have a soft spot for freshly baked, delicately crumbly, buttery melt-in-your-mouth shortbread? This modest Stanton storefront is where it's at! Their only other retail store is in South Pasadena, but you can also find these baked gems neatly tucked inside custom wooden displays at various markets like Bristol Farms, Gelson's, Irvine Ranch Market, Tokyo Central, and Mitsuwa. For first-timers, I suggest assembling this essential starter kit: * Melting Moments * Macadamia Shortbread * Cafe Moments * Chocolate Dipped Macadamia The price point is definitely on the high end, but I dare say, they're more finely constructed than the comparable and more ubiquitous Honolulu Cookie Co's cookies. They've also been around longer too. If you're not familiar with either brands, but you've had Walkers shortbread before---trust me, you haven't really had proper shortbread cookies. Kelley's Kookies are another level. They're a humble treat best served along with a glass of warm milk or an aromatic hot tea, something like Twinings Jasmine Green Tea or Hawaiian Islands Coconut Macadamia Herbal Tea. I think we all deserve an extra-special-melting-moment kind of break right about now ^_^

First time at this shortbread cookie location and I was very impressed. Very clean location and prices and demo cookies were on display. I was greeted by two very friendly staff members and they recommended various types of flavors for me to choose from. I ended up customizing my gift box and chose a set of pecan flavored ones as well as individual cookies. I got the chocolate covered macadamia, Neapolitan, plain macadamia, and orange chocolates dipped flavored shortbread cookies. They were all so tasty and fresh. The best thing is with a Yelp check in you get a free dipped cookie. Woot woot! Definitely coming back again to try other flavors soon.

K is for Kookie that's good enough for me!! Nom nom nom. Kraving a shortbread cookie? Well Kelly's Kookies has you covered. The Melting moments and chocolate dipped shortbread are my favorite. If you get the Melted moments be prepared for a mess. That powdered sugar gets everywhere. Be ready to eat the whole bag they are that good. I've been here a few times already. Now that Covids here the set up is a tad different. All the cookies are ready to go but behind the counter. You have to tell them what you want and they will grab it for you. Service was just okay. I also wish I knew how old the cookies were. Instead there is just an expiration date of about 30 days. Masks are required and no cash accepted. Just CC cards.

Kelley's Kookies are so good!! My MiL gave me the chocolate dipped macadamia and I fell in love. I'm not a chocolate person, but the half dipped shortbread was perfectly balanced. It is their best seller!! I had to see if there was a store and found this one in Stanton. When I walked into the store, I saw the wall of cookies and the ones on display. I couldn't decide what I wanted to try! My husband loved dark chocolate so I bought their limited cookies: triple chocolate delight and the almond chocolate dipped shortbread. I also tried their macadamia cookies which were amazing!

TT silently judging my SIP snack choices but what he doesn't know is that each cookie has only 1g of sugar. Love these walnut cookies!

Melting Moments. Dangerously addictive. Just be careful when eating them in the office if you're a slob like me. I've had a coworker awkwardly look at me and furiously wipe their nose. Opps, booger sugar. Not that kind but yea... These Melting Moments are a lighter, less sweet version of Mexican wedding cookies (walnut cookies dusted with powdered sugar). Kinda pricey at over $7 for a small bag but they're worth it and you're supporting a small family business. The Melting Moments have been my #1 go-to snack during this lockdown. And, I don't feel terrible about eating them since each cookie has only 1 gram of sugar. Kelley's Kookies' other cookies are good but the Melting Moments are where it's at!

Hey guys, I went to Kelly's Kookies in Stanton today to pick up the cookies I ordered for Christmas gifts. I love their macadamia and chocolate dipped cookies. I was about to leave but I saw this miniature cakes and bought 2 mini cream ch2 flourless chocolate cakes. I ate it after dinner and the cake was soooo good and I can taste the vanilla that they used was a high quality vanilla paste. If you are in Pasadena or Stanton CA. You should try it.

Who doesn't love Paris? Who isn't a fan of baguettes? And when you think of a great bakery, Parisian treats come to mind. Similar to 85 Degrees in layout and business model (grab room temperature sweets and savories what you want from cases), and coffee, cakes, slices in refrigerated cases. PB also has an extensive drink list made to order. However unlike 85 Degrees, nothing is restocked after opening. I came around 5pm on Sunday. The baked food cases were more than half empty gone. Same for most of baked goods along back wall, including cookies and bread. Their baguettes seemed fresh but lacked enough crunch that I like. PB also has prepackaged meals - sandwiches and wraps. Starting at $9, I'm not taking a risk buying potentially a mediocre meal given my dissatisfaction with the pastries. They have fancy sweets like Dubai Chocolate Mochi Donuts, and Orange Cronut. Raspberry Nutella Round Croissant. You've seen them, shaped like wheels. Mine tasted a day old. The raspberry filling was too sweet and thick. (Artificial) Crab Cake - Big with good crunch but tasted much better the first time I had it. Mixed with veggies. Almond croissant- An example of deceptively good appearance. While flaky, it didn't taste buttery or light and airy. And the almond filling just tasted sweet. No trace of almond. The space is big and pretty cozy. Tables outsides on both sides of the business. Kudos for having both customer and pick up parking spaces. I'm willing to give them one more try. My sweet tooth wants to think they sell a few good items.
