This little hidden gem has been in Cypress for a long time. I used to come here after school in middle school, and now that I'm in my mid-30s, I return with my kids to enjoy a treat! Our go to neighborhood donut and sandwich spot! Donuts are made fresh daily, we have to get their donut holes for my little one. My wife and I really enjoy their chicken breast sandwich w some coffee, which they have several flavors. They also have really good egg and ham breakfast sandwiches. Been going here for years but the service in the morning is HORRIBLE. Called the night before to order 7 ham and cheese croissants. Came to pick it up just now. Music was blaring so I rang the bell. Nothing. Rang it again. Nothing. Rang it again. The man in the back shouted, "IN A MINUTE". He didn't come out for five minutes. When he did come out, he had no care in the world. From its name alone, I didn't think that Cafe Du Soleil would sell donuts too. Well it does and it's another place I've added to my go-to donut shops. As usual, I got the glazed and sugar raised. Top marks for texture and taste. The dough was soft and fluffy. The taste was good; it wasn't too sweet. The woman behind the counter was friendly so no complaints. Cafe du Soleil also offers drinks and other food items if you don't want a donut. Donuts prices are similar to others (give or take a few cents). While I do enjoy the new and crazy donut creations that some donut shops offer, I truly appreciate the classics: like simple maple bars and plain glazed donuts. The lady behind the counter is super friendly and really sweet. She welcomed me with a smile, and she was very patient with me while I picked out dozen donuts. One last thing, i didn't get a drink, but I must say, the prices are so much more reasonable than other places. When I walked in I stood there for a minute and then rang the bell. The lady comes from the back wiping her face cause she was eating and then proceeds to take my order, touching the register with her already dirty hands, touches the cash I gave her and gives me change and then makes my drink without washing her hands. Disgusting. They don't even have a professional espresso machine, they use a small breville they probably bought used on Facebook and never cleaned. Over all this place is dirty and gross. My kiddo liked the donut holes. I didn't like that she sneezed right before getting them and then proceeded to start to choose the donuts. I asked her to wash her hands first, which then culminated in her explaining that she didn't sneeze on her hands and on and on. She did, however, keep the same gloves on the entire time from sneeze to getting the donuts to handling my money to getting more donuts. Even pre-Covid, this would have been just nasty. It would have taken 10 seconds to sanitize her hands and change gloves in-between transactions. I've been eating out the entire pandemic, but this was just next level gross. It is what it is. Nothing more, nothing less. I stop by here every saturday after the gym to get my kids donut holes and my husband the breakfast croissant sandwich. Food is good and I agree the sandwiches are tasty. Yes, it could use a makeover on the inside. But most folks run in a grab what they need and leave so it's not a big deal to me. Its not a trendy place. Just a neighborhood place. I don't plan on chillaxin' in there so I don't care. And yes, the woman that works there is super nice and cute. Love her! read more

Came in for the $3.00 Turkey and Cheese Croissant and apparently those are only available "during breakfast time". By this time she had already rung me up for the #4 Turkey and Cheese Croissant Sandwich at a cost of $5.95. Then she tells me that there is a 50 cent charge for using a debit/credit card. So, how did my total get to $6.91???? Since we are in Cypress, it should be Orange County tax not LA county tax. It is not about the money, I would just like to know what I am paying for. I came here a couple of times and I've always been disappointed. I always come around 11 am-12 pm, and the donut selection is so scarce. They either need to make more or close earlier. Also, I don't understand why there is a $5 card minimum plus a 50 cent extra charge. The ladies are always rude and seem to be rushing me when there is no one else in the store.
