Upon walking in, it reminded me of a museum, clean and quiet, with baskets of chocolates on one side, tea sets on the far wall, and packaged gift boxes in display cases near the register on the right. TAWDI is tailored for chocolate lovers, and the variety is fun. The lady who greeted me there also patiently described the different chocolates and even offered me samples! I appreciated the friendly service. I love dark chocolate, so I bought a bunch of the individually wrapped ones to try out with my fam. They're mostly in the silver wrappers. My faves included the Dubai bar (comes in small squares, medium-sized bars, and large bars), plain dark chocolate square, chocolate-covered peanut brittle stick, chocolate-covered macadamias, and a pistachio marzipan bonbon-type treat. Truly a lovely feast for the tastebuds, without being too sweet. I do agree with other Yelpers about price; many of TAWDI's chocolates, especially the Dubai ones, are very expensive. Some of the chocolates weren't labeled or didn't have descriptions, so I had to keep asking the lady for clarification. TAWDI is located smack dab in the middle of the Times Square strip mall. This place is a true gem! It's sort of hidden by these big columns. But their sign for strawberry Dubai chocolate cups caught my eye! I walked in and I was surprised. An actual; real Chocolatier in the middle of West Anaheim! The place was so elegant. And the gentleman behind the counter was so kind and happy, it was contagious! I was excited to try the Chocolate covered Dubai strawberries but it was not very flavorful. I truly think it was the strawberries. They were lacking flavor. I was underwhelmed with the cup. And for the price I paid, I was kinda bummed. Even my child (who loves chocolate covered Dubai strawberries) did not want any after the first bite. We got the dark chocolate bar which I found to be simple. Not sure, maybe I'll give it another try another time. I also tried the pistachio nougat but the flavor was not good on that either. The store itself is very clean, and I saw lots of other chocolate options neatly arranged on shelves. The lady who answered my phone call kindly walked me through their offerings. I told her it was my first time there, and she let me have a sample of the caramel chocolate (which was SO GOOD). I selected my chocolates: 1 medium ($15) and 1 small Dubai milk chocolate bar ($5), and 2 medium Dubai dark chocolate bars ($15 each). I would have eaten all my chocolate in one sitting if I didn't have self control. These were so delicious and some of the best chocolates I've ever had. Up until my visit, I haven't had Dubai chocolate yet and really wanted to find a spot that would have a good representation of the treat and found this spot...and it looked perfect...and it was! I came in on the later side and they were about to close for the evening so it wasn't very busy and only one person in the shop, who was the most helpful, sweetest person ever. Wow. Wow. WOW. I've been wanting to check this place out for awhile and finally had the chance to stop by and I have to say "why didn't I come here earlier??" Each sweet is made with such care and attention, with the highest quality ingredients. I felt transported into someone's home and history - you absolutely can feel the love and care taken in making each delectable treat. Perfectly sweet and balanced, amazingly crafted and elegant. Each bite is heaven! I picked up a Turkish delight and a few of the Dubai chocolates and several did not even make it the car ride home! Feeling uncomfortable, we stopped exploring and just purchased a bar of Dubai Chocolate and two pistachio nougats. The prices were high for the quality and size of the products. A smaller bar of Dark Dubai Chocolate was priced $15 and the larger bar (200 grams) was priced at $25. The chocolate was average and the pistachio nougat was very unpleasant. Overall, the experience was poor and awkward. Most of the shelves in the store were either completely empty or almost empty. I usually take pictures but I didn't want any more confrontations so I skipped taking pictures of the store. We also didn't take pictures of the chocolate bar or the nougats because we ate in the car and were so baffled by the experience that we forgot to take pictures. This place came up on my yelp when I was looking for boba... and I'm not mad at it so I decided to stop by. Upon walking I noticed a variety of different types of sweets. I was greeted by a boy (family business, maybe the son?). He was very helpful! He asked what I was looking for and directed me towards the Dubai chocolate. He showed me the 3 different types of chocolate - white, dark, & milk. These chocolates came in 3 sizes, which I really liked. I decided to get a small size of the white and dark chocolate and got the medium size of milk chocolate. The ambiance is very quiet and it is very open. Note: I had my chocolate when I got home and I really enjoyed the white and dark Dubai chocolate as it is something different from the original milk chocolate. Came in all the way from Reno, NV seeking out the delicious looking Dubai chocolate this place had to offer. Oh man was it amazing, literally the best Ive ever had, and it continued to stay crispy and crunch even days later. The shop was pretty busy when we walked in, but the friendly lady working made sure it great each new person that arrived even while she was busy making a gift basket (which was absolutely gorgeous, perfect gift idea) for some customers. When she finished she made it a point to give every person in the store some free samples due to the wait (which was very short). She was just so sweet and great customer service. Hands down the best Dubai chocolate I've had anywhere. The kadayif is super crunchy even a full 2 days after. I grabbed a handful of treats from here to keep my hotel room stocked while at Disneyland. Inside is super cute, and the owner was extremely friendly. She was busy prepping some full gift boxes, looked to be for a wedding or a birthday so we had to wait a little while. She ended up giving us some free sample since we had to wait, which was totally awesome. Explained a bunch of the options, and gave her recommendations. We never tried the Dubai chocolate bar during the viral frenzy several months ago. I thought it would be nice to get a bar as one of the gifts for my girlfriend's birthday. After reading various Yelp reviews, it seemed like Tawdi has one of the most authentic bars so I paid them a visit. The shop is located in a strip mall and very easy to find with the overhead fascia sign, a big banner out front, and signs on the front window. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman who told me all about their Dubai bars. I really liked the display of stacked bars in the display case by the front window and joked with him that they have the Fort Knox of Dubai bars. They have three varieties of Dubai bar including milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate. They also come in three sizes including a single square, regular size bar, and larger size bar. They also have the same varieties of chocolate covered Oreo cookies. We chit chatted for a bit and he very kindly offered me a complementary Oreo cookie with the chocolate of my choice. I had one of the white chocolate covered Oreos and it was yummy. A few days later, my girlfriend opened the Dubai bar and we tried it. The milk chocolate was delicious and the kataifi is nice and crispy. The pistachio flavor is there but it is not very strong. The texture definitely reminded me of a Kit Kat bar. It was fun to try something new and the Dubai bar was good, but I wouldn't spend $15 again for another regular size bar. If you plan to return, sign up for their loyalty club by the cash register. TAWDI specializes in the viral Dubai chocolate and makes it here instead of importing it. The chocolate is offered in white, dark, or milk chocolate varieties. They have a 100 gram, 200 gram, as well as single piece sizes. They do have some baklava that they import from Turkey and have some other sweets as well. Dubai dark chocolate (200 grams - $25) - At a little less than 1/2 lb this was EXPENSIVE. From the taste of the chocolate, it seemed to be about 70% dark chocolate and similar to the Trader Joes variety, which costs roughly $3 for the same amount of chocolate. The inside filling consisted of shredded phyllo dough and pistachio filling and oddly the filling wasn't sweet at all. I wouldn't recommend getting the dark chocolate variety as it isn't very sweet. Stick to the milk chocolate one Pistachio marzipan candy ($2) - There was nothing special about this, even though I like marzipan (almond paste), and it didn't seem fresh. It had some nuts, pistachio and marzipan, but was tiny and definitely not worth the price. Overall, the chocolates here are too pricey and double or triple the price of what they should be charging. I personally have made the Dubai chocolate at home but I wanted to bring some co-workers here to experience it. A single small square piece of the Dubai chocolate is $5 and the 100 gram variety is $15. I would pass on the baklava as it's imported and not freshly prepared. read more

Over the past week, I've indulged in what can only be described as the 'most incredible chocolates I've ever tasted'. * Oreos, graham crackers, ginger snaps, and biscuits all generously coated in smooth milk or white chocolate * Plump dates stuffed with a rich pistachio cream and wrapped in crispy, buttery kataifi * Pistachio-stuffed baklava, each bite a perfect balance of sweet and nutty * And, of course, the Dubai chocolate bars--in both milk and white chocolate I even took home a pound of espresso because I had to try some authentic middle eastern coffee with my chocolate biscuits. Social media got the better of me. After so many videos of watching Dubai bars being made and my SIL wanting to try it too, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't as hard to find as I thought. Location, location, location. ;) The Dubai bars are filled with pistachio cream and knafeh (filo dough) and covered in chocolate. There were 2 sizes, $14.99 for the 100g bar and $24.99 for the 200g bar. The dark bar was delightfully crunchy, with creamy pistachio binder & a nice thick dark chocolate shell. Not too sweet and I loved the different textures. Chocolates in general are reasonably priced; they had individual chocolates for $1.50, the Dubai bars are a splurge but very labor intensive. Honest Review: The much-hyped Dubai Chocolate Crave was, unfortunately, underwhelming. I've had far better quality chocolate for a fraction of the price. I also tried their chocolate-covered strawberries; served in a very small cup for an astonishing $17.99 only to realize they were simply coated in the same chocolate used for their bars. The pricing feels unjustifiably high for what is offered, and to make matters worse, they did not provide a receipt, which I find highly unprofessional for any legitimate business. Would I return? Ive tried various versions of Dubai chocolate both out of the country and in the states and this one is the best!!! the chocolate bars are thick and heavy.
