Enticed by the large Hebrew text conjoining two Palestinian-owned Jerusalem businesses, I was compelled to take a peek. The plaza has plenty of parking and houses a few other ethnic restaurants and spas, so it's very easy to get to during a Disneyland trip. Inside, there are tons of stuff from the Levant, spices, halal gummies, imported chocolates, homemade Dubai chocolate, and a huge selection of Turkish delights and roasted nuts made by them. They also have a wide variety of baklava and fresh knafeh right there ready to cut, which is a sweet cheese dessert with a fun kataifi crunch. The gentleman who helped me was very kind, though there was a slight language barrier. He let me try a bunch of nuts when I inquired - and I sort of had to, since several varieties were unlabeled, or just had a sign for what they were, or what the flavor was, but not vice versa. The nuts were good and seemed like a good and healthy snack to bring into a theme park or to have at home. I thought the flavors I tried were hard to distinguish from another after a while, and subtle. I had the fresh Dubai chocolate and thought it was pretty nice, distinctly bitter, nutty, moist, with tons of fresh kataifi crunch. You do have to keep it refrigerated though, as I assume it's made with ingredients that wouldn't hold well together at room temperature - typically a better sign in terms of paleo diets if you've ever made paleo chocolates for yourself. It's a bit atypical from other Dubai chocolate as the filling quantity here is uniquely generous. It's very rare to see a cute, almost timeless shop like this, containing lots of traditional and authentic goods. Would enjoy revisiting to try their coffee and the nearby food. read more

My sister-in-law and I finally stopped by Jerusalem Roastery on 4/4 after I'd been wanting to check it out for months (I'm usually next door grabbing something from Shawarma House ). The moment we walked in, the rich aroma of coffee pulled us right in. It was a quiet visit--late afternoon around 4:30--so we had time to look over the menu, though I wasn't sure what to order since it was my first time. I asked the barista for recommendations, and he absolutely delivered. The coffee did not disappoint! My SIL ordered the Spanish Latte, and I went with the Original Jerusalem--both were delicious. Their Arabic coffee doesn't taste authentic and it taste more American coffee finely ground. I also tried their Biscoff kenafeh and it was so terrible, very dry and didn't come out as one piece and had very weird taste, probably old. read more

I'll combine the Roastery and Store locations in this review... after visiting the Shawarma House three doors down we felt like having something sweet and coffee. We asked how to combine eating knafeh and other delicious food with our coffee and were suggested to buy them first at the bakery and store next door. Mohamad was very helpful in guiding us around the bulk items (excellent Turkish Delight among others) and we were lucky to get the remaining knafeh. Our Sada Coffee was full of flavor and a good match with the knafeh... I tried one of the Turkish Delight and that one worked well. 8/10. Pro tip? Come in at around 5 or 6pm when many of the items are still available, including the ice cream. Coffee place is small, the tables and chairs are super practical but small to fit all the goodies. Jerusalem Roastery (JR) is located in a small shopping center next to Shawarma House. I *highly* recommend lunch or dinner there, then dessert with Arabic coffee or mint tea next door at JR. When they first opened, I remember asking if they also served coffee and, then, that wasn't a thing. Today, you can grab some Turkish delights or baklava then go next door to their cafe to enjoy it with a drink. Parking is ample, they also have tons of roasted seeds and nuts, as well as bins of candy and other goodies. They have a wee bit of work to do on really making the cafe what it can be, but it's in its infancy, so I'm also being thoughtful about that. I didnt deduct a point because they listened to customers, and they made it happen. I hope they'll continue to improve on flavors, quality, etc. That will be a total game changer. read more

My daughter and I have been coming to Jerusalem Roastery every weekend after lunch for a few months now, for a variety of snacks, treats and beverages. - Dubai chocolate: We have tried so many places up and down Southern California, but Jerusalem Roastery's is truly the best. They have a variety in the fridge that is freshly made, and the price point is half of most other places, only $7.99 for a big piece. They also have wrapped ones that are good. - Knafeh: Their knafeh is served hot and fresh - they cut it in front of you. Both their soft and crispy kinds are delicious. Their cheese quality is the best I've tried in knafeh. - Nuts, seeds, etc: I have 10 bags in my kitchen right now (no exaggeration) of a variety of their nuts, seeds and corn nuts from the case in the front. My favorite is the roasted peas, their mixed nuts, kabooki and corn nuts. That's all I eat for dinner sometimes. - There are a variety of wrapped chocolates from Jordan that I buy for home and as gifts. I also share these with my staff at work and now their eyes light up whenever I bring them some. - Halal gummies are so fresh and they always have something new. Sour fans: The sour blue ones are my favorite (there are many blue ones!) - Baklava: I think I've tried all of the baklava now and the best one is all of them, just buy one of each and enjoy. - My favorites of their beverages (so far) is the Salaam Cola and the Sahra Middle Eastern Cold Brew. I prefer Salaam Cola over other sodas now, and the cold brew blew my socks off when I first tried it. They also carry a variety of Asian products that some Asian markets are often sold out on, like Dobby, the viral Hong Qi ice creams, and different flavors of noodles. Dobby from here is more fresh than other places I've tried. The store itself is beautiful - you can tell they are selective and take pride in the decor and everything they sell. Best of all, the kindest family owns the store and they are always so welcoming, asking if we want to try different things and telling us when they have new arrivals. Interesting little shop! There's lots of middle eastern spices, nuts, snacks, desserts and candy that you can grab and they charge by the pound. I got probably like 8-10 strips of sour belts and it was around $2.50. It was pretty good and didn't taste overly sugary! What I really came here for was the viral Dubai Chocolate, which comes with knafeh and pistachio! $8 a bar, which isn't too bad of a price since a whole chocolate bar at some cafes are around $18. I thought it was pretty decent, could use more pistachio filling, definitely not the best I've had but was good for my chocolate fix! read more

I'm really glad I stopped by with my friend to check this place out! We got to chat with the store owner who was very sweet and open to explaining what they had in store. I highly recommend the fresh Turkish delights and also the knafeh! The knafeh being warm makes such a difference to the taste and texture. Typically if you are accustomed to knowing the brew is time consuming and yes don't expect to run in and get a quick fix. This place does legit coffees and smooth results. Their baklava is really good. But I came for the Dubai chocolate. But there was no more of the smaller bars and the one wrapped was left. Go for the one in the fridge, the pistachio and knafeh is much more. The wrapped barely had any that you can't really feel the texture difference. read more

Saw this place on Instagram and was in the area so I decided to check it out. As a middle eastern, I always try to support local middle eastern businesses when I can. The store is beautifully organized. Bins in the middle of the store have candies, gummies, and spices. Behind the counters are sweets like baklava and nougats as well as nuts and coffee. There are homewares too like coffee cups, trays, decorations, thermos, etc. They have the viral Dubai chocolate here as well. I bought the Dubai chocolate and a slice of knafeh. Haven't tried the knafeh yet but did give the Dubai chocolate a try. I was not a fan of the Dubai chocolate. But the price is good it's $7 for a good sized bar. Other places charge an arm and a leg! Staff was friendly but could improve on communication. I was curious about the filings of one of the nougats behind the glass case. I asked one of the staff what was inside the nougat and he referred me to another staff member who also could not tell me either lol. My biggest criticism was that when I came to visit this store, there were groups of people inside which great yay supporting local business! But I was super annoyed because some people were just loitering and in the way. Legit people were having their own convos in the middle of the aisles and not moving or even aware that others are also trying to shop. This is no fault of the business but it was something I experienced. Prices seemed fair. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. read more

I was on the hunt to find the viral Dubai chocolate bar. Jerusalem Roastery luckily had a bunch. Twas amazing and so is this store. They have an assortment of goodies such as chocolate, Baklava and Knafeh, and all taste like they're made with good quality ingredients. I saw through the glass this interesting looking dessert called Knafeh. It's a traditional Middle Eastern dessert of pastry layers, cheese and syrup. I've never had before but it looked good so I decided to get some. Boy was I pissed that it took me this long to discover it. It's seriously one of the best desserts ever. Perfect amount of sweetness mixed with the savoriness from the cheese. If you haven't tried it you should definitely get it. Found this place on a whim to find the Dubai chocolate and they have it! I went pretty late, at like 8pm so for the Dubai chocolate, there was only 4 left. But they have plenty of other delicious desserts to try! They also have a bunch of spices and really cute tea sets. The workers were friendly and helpful. I have been wanting to come here since they opened. Finally made the trip down from the SFV today and it was beyond worth it. I wish I could have bought a little bit of everything, but my bank account would not be happy with me lol. I can't wait to go back and refill on candies, spices, snacks, etc. It was also a beautiful sunny day today and the doors were wide open when we arrived. That felt very welcoming. We were greeted right away and provided with excellent customer service. The layout of the shop is also beautiful and easy to navigate. Their selection of home goods is excellent. I want it all! Beautiful ceramic and wooden pieces. The spices and candies are all very tempting. I wish I could get them all! I can't wait to go back for future refills. I will definitely be getting a lot more.
