Was in the area for work and stopped in because I had a craving for baklava. When it comes to places like these I have no idea what I'm doing other than selecting the thing that looks closest to baklava. Abdul was there and I pointed at something that had the Danish triangle shape but looked like a huge baklava. I got two triangles, a few of the smaller squares which were actual baklava and Abdul recommended some bars that I think were Knefeh and I said add it to the box. He asked if I liked dates and I said sure, and threw in a small round bagel looking cookie that had dates in it and sesame seeds on top. I was there right when they opened so it wasn't crowded yet and I was in and out of there fast. Abdul was very nice and I'd come back again to try the many other sweets they have in there. The triangle thing that reminded me of a danish actually had this like custardy egg texture on the inside and I thought it was good and rich and could only eat half of it, but saved the other half to have with my morning coffee. read more

This is one of the best knafeh I've had, and I've had a lot from the LA area to the Bay Area and this is THE spot. I usually go for the soft cheese one but I tried their cream knafeh and omg I am hooked! The texture was amazing, crispy on the outside and soft cream in the inside. I also tried the soft cheese knafeh and it was just as amazing! Perfect cheese ratios with the best cheese pull! I really liked that it wasn't overly sweet and they load it with crushed pistachios on top. Victory Sweets is a small Arab sweet shop in a small strip mall with a super tiny parking lot. They offer knafeh, baklava, cookies, and other sweets. I had heard the baklava here was the best and so I had to try it for myself. They had 2 types of knafeh on display (one with shredded phyllo dough on top and the other with baked ground semolina (knafeh na'ameh). I went with the phyllo dough one, and enquired if they had knafeh with ashta cream inside (that was only available if one ordered it in advance). Knafeh ($5 - cash only) - Knafeh consists of a layer of Nabulsi cheese (consistency is similar to string cheese and supposedly really good ones have a lot of cheese pull to them) that has been either baked on cooked on a stove top. On top of the cheese is a layer of shredded phyllo dough with a hot sugar syrup with a touch of orange water poured on top. This had the perfect amount of sweetness and made for a fantastic dessert. Pistachio Mamoul ($1 a piece approx.) - this consisted of sweetened pistachios sandwiched between a thin layer of a semolina cookie. I was really impressed with this treat as I love pistachio! There was so much delicious pistachio in each bite. Overall I was really impressed with the items that I tried here. The knafeh definitely lived up to the hype and was one of the best that I tried. I only wish they had more pistachio treats other than the few I saw. I would definitely stop by if I am in the area. read more

Taste: Tasteless No buttery flavor & Too sweet Quality: Cheese was stretchy but lacked the buttery taste of homemade. Definitely NO butter but a butter substitute was used. We made our way over here for the first time to try some knefeh breakfast sandwiches. We arrived around 11:00am to a shop full of pastries and desserts but empty with customers. Of course I am sure a place like this is busier in the early mornings but we were still surprised just how slow it was. Anyway, we were greeted by a nice older gentleman and simpyl asked for two knefeh sandwiches. They are cut from the trays on display and placed in the Middle Eastern bread called kaak. We were really hoping the knefeh wouldn't be put in the microwave and lo' and behold . . . it was. I don't know why these places don't keep it hot on the tray, the microwave really changes the taste and consistency and it's just not the same as an authentic hot fresh knefeh. He brought out the two plates and we asked about coffee which he said they don't serve. But then all of a sudden he was nice enough to bring some coffee from his own pot in the back and share it with us. The knefeh is thick and the bread has a nice crust, while fluffy inside to soak up the syrup. Luckily the knefeh wasn't all that bad even after the microwave, it still had the nice crust from the tray and the cheese was still gooey and pulling with some bites. Overall it was better than my last trip to Anaheim and visit to Knefeh Cafe, that was pretty sad and this tasted much better. The two Knefeh sandwiches cost $12, not terrible, about the price you would pay. read more

It was super cheesy haha. I liked the hard one better since the topping was sweet, the softer one felt more "buttery." Employee gave us extra sugar/syrup to dip the kunafa. Didnt really taste any difference, but it was a kind gesture!! The shop was kind of cute, but honestly I felt really awkward in the quiet place... there was no music and nobody else in there (it was around 7:00 pm ish). I got pretty paranoid whenever someone shady peered into the store.. Outside didnt seem too well-lit/safe. It kind of made me want to finish it, get up, and leave asap! Overall.... 3/5.
