I wouldn't say the fish is the most fresh I've had, but for the price it's not too bad! Plus the workers are super friendly. I was a big fan of the tropical storm roll since it had pineapple and mango but it was too much fruit for my bf, so maybe it's an acquired taste. But we both were kind of eh about the diablo roll. It was hefty and tasted alright. But it was hot temperature wise which was kind of weird to adjust to. On one hand, it's nice because you know it's freshly fried. But on the other hand, why am I burning my tongue on a piece of sushi. Idk how to feel because I've had fried rolls before and they were never this warm so idk wasn't really my favorite. read more

Restaurant is great, server is super friendly and fast. Service is on point. However the food isn't great. Sushi is not good. The sushi rice is hard. It's lacking flavors and taste, it's really dry comparing to any other restaurants. I order 3 pieces of salmons sashimi but she gave me salmon over rice instead. The salmon also tastes different from all the restaurants I've been to, it's crunchy. I'm a sushi lover, I eat a lot of raw fish and this feels wrong. The crab Rangoon was super oily and it tastes bitter after. I think they use like an old oil maybe? I don't know but I don't have a great experience with the food. We started with salad with ginger dressing and bowls of clear soup. They also offer miso soup. The clear soup was very flavorful and fun to eat with the little crunchy bits of crispy rice. So fun!! Ordered from Yashi Sushi for takeout on a Tuesday night. I wish they had a website so that it was easier to see the menu!!! I had to go on UberEats to see what they had/what their prices were, and then I called in my order over the phone. I found it strange that they didn't ask me my name or tell me how long the food would take until I specifically asked. When I got there, the restaurant was quaint and not very busy. They asked for my name even though they didn't ever ask for it to begin with which was funny. I was in and out very quickly. I ordered the Spicy Salmon Roll, Yuki Roll, and Salmon Sushi. The Spicy Salmon Roll was good but pretty dry and there was a lot of rice. The Yuki Roll was very good, especially loved the lemon. The Salmon Sushi was some of the most buttery fish I've ever had (and I eat a lot of salmon sushi)! So so good. We've been coming to Yashi for years, and it's always been a favorite. The food quality is always great, but quite honestly, it's the service that really keeps us coming back. You can tell that they really appreciate your business and value their customers, rather than just looking at you like a dollar sign to put money in their pockets. This was our first visit and we absolutely loved it! We started with the Crab Rangoon (no picture) which came out piping hot. Taste was great. We love Rangoon and Yashi does a great one. We then ordered 4 rolls. We had the volcano, blue coral, pocky and tempa bay. The volcano comes with baked cream cheese and scallops on top (bottom right) and it was a favorite. I typically come here during my break for takeout on days where I don't have enough time to cook. Previously I've ordered the spicy salmon roll and it was absolutely delectable, the fish was impeccably fresh and high quality but the prices were reasonable! My friend ordered the crab rangoons and the small lomein which was anything but small, I was jealous of his plate! Fast forward to today when I was stuck in rush hour traffic with a growling stomach and had to get to work, I look to my left and what do you know?! The place with the giant lomein and amazing sushi! I placed a to go order that was ready in under 10 minutes and it was some of the best lomein i've ever had, the veggies are fresh (especially the zucchini which is my favorite!), the noodles were thick and starchy (not soggy!) and the shrimp sauce topped it all off! Absolutely tasty! After months of publix sushi and a craving deeper then the Grand Canyon, my friend brought me over for some hand rolled sushi! Entree to start was goyza steamed were juicy and hot - delicious! Our choices were a variety and each had a flavor unique to the other. Service was respectful and safe; all employees seated their masks and tables and clients were spread out in the building for safe distance. I was surprisingly delighted with the raw roll which I was not expecting to be served in that manner. This was my first time trying Yashi Sushi but I will definitely be back. I ordered the chicken teriyaki for take out and it was very fresh and delicious. Placed an online order and it was ready for pick up right when we got there and the person who gave us our order was so kind. I didn't get vegetables with my meal, only white rice, and she said she gave an extra serving of white rice because of it which was really thoughtful of her. I met a colleague for a late lunch. The food he ordered looked good (salmon and rice lunch special). My order included seaweed salad and very fresh tasting sashimi. The green tea was milder than I usually like. My rating is lower than what the food earned due to terrible service. They were not very busy but the servers were almost rude. Barely acknowledged when we came in. Our server spilled tea I was served on the table, didn't offer to wipe up. I cleaned it myself. No one smiled at us. My colleague visits more often than me and said he was looking for a young lady that is usually there and very pleasant. It was all male servers this afternoon. This place has been my go-to for years. I always doubled up on my choices here because their dishes are one of the best in town. My usual order includes the tempura chicken with steamed rice or hibachi steak with steamed rice with an EST roll and a few pieces of the salmon and smoked salmon nigiri. Their staff is always friendly to us and the food comes out quick. I don't have much to complain about. There is one set of bathrooms so if it's busy, there may or may not be a wait time. Both had pretty subtle flavors, the spicy tuna didn't have as much of a kick as I'm used to at other places. It definitely needed the soy sauce and ginger for extra flavor. To keep it short and sweet: this is my favorite sushi spot in town and I've been here at least once a week for the last 2-3 years. Somehow it's never crowded and surprisingly quick for sit down service. The staff is great. They literally know what I want to order as soon as I sit down and even bring me my regular sauces haha! I'm very picky and weird with sushi and special order something every time and they always accommodate me! Pretty cheap compared to similar sushi places and great quality every time! Sushi's not it though, their fried rice is my favorite as well- and I often order it takeout. The $8 portion is easily 2 meals. Overall: comfortable relaxed atmosphere and bomb food for your buck. I'll be coming here as long as I live in Jacksonville Update: still 5 stars! Our server literally knows what we want even when we act like we can't decide and want to get something different.
