    the interior of a restaurant

A friend and I decided to try this restaurant, because neither of us have never been there before. Upon walking in the ambience is great very warm very inviting, culturally sensitive. The food I will say whisk OK. The chicken with green onion presented well not very much flavor which was a little disappointing. As an appetizer, the portion was adequate. With regard to the sushi it was nothing to write home about. It was OK. Finally, the service I can't say a lot about it because I don't know that it was all that great. We really did not see the waitress much, and though friendly, just really didn't go above and beyond it was kind of difficult to get a hold of her when we needed something. Overall, this was OK. I would return, but it would not be my first choice.

The servers were very sweet, the sushi was made quickly and it's super fresh. My favorite roll is the sleeping beauty roll. The restaurant had Christmas decorations and was playing music, very peaceful.

I placed a to go order. The food was ready quickly. I had a dynamite roll and fried gyoza. Both tasted great. I plan to come back and try more soon. It's in a good spot right next to a movie theatre.

I have never tried something here I didn't like. The sushi and Sashimi has always been fresh and beautifully presented. I can't recommend the Pork Katsu and fried rice enough. Staff is friendly and attentive and the overall vibe of the restaurant presents a chill atmosphere whether dining for a Tuesday lunch or a more bustling Saturday evening. Delicious for dine-in and takeout a

Ordered from Uber eats. I just don't understand why restaurants put fried breadcrumbs in the rolls unless it's specified. I don't taste any fish... I just taste fried breadcrumbs. If I wanted to have fried breadcrumbs, I would've gone to Long John Silvers.

Won't be coming here for a very long while! Wasn't happy w/ third party take out order. Server is always friendly n super nice and sushi has always been 100% ..but the over cooked FRIED sushi I ordered and paid for .. not so nice! DISGUSTING to say the least and it ruined my night! Plenty sushi spots close by and very disappointed about this recent experience.

After we seen a movie close by. We wanted a quick lunch. We tried this place and loved it. You sit yourself when you arrive. The eating area is a bit small. The ambience is average for sushi place. They make the sushi fresh right there. The food taste fresh. Sushi is designed to be eaten when delivered. If you let it sit, it will lose taste. We ate soon as it was delivered and loved it.

It's been awhile since I last visited (looks like 2015). Came here for lunch to celebrate my brother's birthday. It appears to be under different management now since 2015 but looks quite the same. I don't remember all the rolls we got but could name a few: Rainbow Roll, Yellowtail Roll, Happy Dragon Roll, Cosmo Roll, Samurai Roll, Yellow Monster Roll (?) and two others. All the Rolls were great and definitely would like to try out more of their menu. Love sushi and happy to say it's better than our last experience. Glad to revisit and try it out again. Overall, they've gotten a lot better and it's great they open on Sundays which a lot of sushi places are closed - a plus for them. I would revisit again and try out their other special sushi rolls.

The food was so good and came out so quickly! I could tell it was gonna be a great place with all of the pickup orders going out. Cool little hole in the wall sushi place!

My husband comes here often during the week b/c it is close to his work. We were out shopping during the weekend and decided to stop in. We both immediately noticed how hot it was inside the restaurant. Almost as if they had the heat on during a 70+ degree day. After about 10 minutes I got used to it enough and decided to stay. We both ordered Miso soup and a Sleeping Beauty roll. The miso was good but had way too many scallions in it (and I like them just very overwhelming amount this day). I have to say I really enjoyed our sushi rolls. The sleeping beauty has tuna inside, avocado I think cucumber, krap on top, spicy mayo etc. Really really great roll. I would order this again in a second. Service was attentive without being overwhelming and she checked on our drinks twice which was appreciated. Overall I would give it a solid 4 stars almost 5.

One of THE best sushi places in town. I've visited a many sushi places and this place incomparable to all the others. Plus the prices aren't too bad. The most expensive roll is about $12.95. It's a small, quaint place perfect for lunch or dinner. It does get pretty busy though because their daily specials are pretty amazing and it's right by Regal Avenues and the Avenues Mall. Perfect place to start off for date night to the movies or if you're just swinging by for a quick bite.

Small place but extremely delicious! Had a few of their sushi rolls and they were all surprisingly good. Definitely coming back 10/10

She also gave me directions to the restaurant because it was in a plaza and I wasn't from the area and didn't want to be late. The omakase experience here and the sake tasting was fantastic. Every dish was so precisely made and plated and we got tonwatch it all from the Chef'scounter. We were given explanations for everything we had that night and they made everything gluten-free because two of us that night were gluten-free. The omakase is in the back of the restaurant as well sectioned off from the main restaurant and bar. The space is beautiful and it even has and outdoors seating area with a large (maybe fake) Sakura tree. They made my birthday dinner very special and I appreciated that a lot. The sake tasting was also just as fantastic. The sommolier explained every sake and even let me take a quick photo of the bottle so I would be able to remember it. The Final dish was a gluten-free cheesecake. If I lived in JAX I would come here all the time. I highly recommend it! Everyone was great and all the food was fantastic.

In the future, I may steer away from here for that wait as I imagine it could be 1+ hours if dining on a weekend. What I Ordered: - Mule: decent in flavor, but served in a regular cup. Pretty disappointing as the copper mug is iconic for a mule, and also keeps the beverage cooler; which was much needed when by a grill as the dining room was quite warm in June. - Hibachi Steak & Scallops: the scallops were seared a little too long, but the steak was cooked well. Appreciate offering the extra rice and veggies as I took leftovers back to the hotel. It's always fun to see your food prepared and any theatrics the chefs decide to do. Overall, it was entertaining but I found the temperature inside pretty warm. I wish there was more circulating air. I had asked for a $20 bill to be broken into smaller bills, but the server didn't return after my request for 15+ minutes. Due to the hot temperature, I ended up leaving with the $20 as a tip. Bit frustrating as I hate when you pay the bill, and your server disappeared into thin air. Decent experience, but fairly average for the hibachi style dining I've had across the country.

The setting is clean, comfortable, fun, and easily accessible to guests. Cons: It's essentially a Hibachi restaurant. The cost for a plate with few ounces of ribeye and shrimp is $38 dollars before one (1) drink and a 15% gratuity, which ranges 25-40% higher than other hibachi and Japanese cuisine competitors in the local and surrounding markets.

It was super crispy, but the meat was still so juicy. And the sweet and creamy sauces just finished the perfect bite. The ramens were pretty solid too. The matcha broth was super creamy and light. And the tonkotsu was so flavorful, with really tender chashu and a perfectly soft boiled egg. Plus the noodles were a really good texture. The restaurant itself is really cute too. They also have a convenience store type of ramen station in the front, which I really want to try. As well as a little arcade game that you can play in the front while you wait to be seated. However, I was really not a fan of the service. It's nothing really against the servers because they were super nice, but they just seemed so frazzled. We arrived around an hour before closing, but it took forever for us to be seated, despite seeing a few empty tables around. By the time we were seated, we were told kitchen would be closing in two minutes, so we had to hurry and put in our orders. All of that was fine and I didn't mind. But what I did mind was that our waitress checked our order twice when we first have it. And she came back to our table within the next five minutes to check our orders again for a third time to make sure she had down what we wanted. I wanted the matcha ramen and was most looking forward to having some chashu and egg. So she confirmed my order three times that I wanted matcha ramen. But when it came out, she gave me the vegetable bowl. I knew the kitchen had closed at that point, so I just ate it, but I was really disappointed. (I did get to try a bite of my friends egg and chashu, which also didn't really help because it was so good and made me wish mine came with those even more.) When we were finished eating, it took forever for the checks to come out. This I also didn't mind that much, because the servers, again, looked really frazzled trying to close up. But at this point we had waited until well after their closing time, so part of me was hoping they could just close us out first and then finish closing down the place. I think we waited at least half an hour from when we first asked for the check (at which point we had already been waiting a while) to when we finally got our cards back. I did see they charged me for the vegetable version of the matcha ramen so it was whatever, but then also I was confused - so it wasn't a mix up in the kitchen, she rang it up as the vegetable one from the beginning! Even though I never mentioned it and she never said vegetable when confirming my order. It was a dollar less to get tofu instead of an egg and chashu which doesn't seem worth it. Writing this all out, I'm sorry to rant, because the food really was good. And looking at other reviews, it looks like the service is usually pretty good. But again, it was just disappointing. That being said, I am really hoping it was a one off thing because I would go again and try some other menu items too.
