I have recently tried Sake House 2 so I wanted to give this location a try to compare their prices and food quality. I ordered the exact same thing as I did when I went to Sake House 2 and it was $5 cheaper at this location. The food quality was a tiny bit lower than the other location, but that makes sense with the lower prices. The sushi was well made and tasted good, but I found the two spring rolls to be smaller in size than what I would usually expect. I can't say anything about their fish since I am a vegetarian. The inside of this location is small and would be nice for a date night. There was only one person dining in at 6pm on a Saturday night. I found it a little strange that the girl who was handling my pick up order was watching TikTok the entire time she was helping me. I usually tip on my pick up orders but this time I didn't. Overall, this place is relatively good if you're in the area and craving sushi. With lower prices, expect slightly lower quality. read more

The lunch specials are really worthy of the price. I loved the sashimi special, it came with large pieces as well. The chicken Kau's was thin, crispy, and paired well with lots of veggies. Sucker for a piping hot sake. Temp was 105, service was quick for two hibachi style platters. The ambiance was traditional Japanese Circa late 90's. A solid choice for sushi if you're in Five Points. Nice decor inside for date night. I had the Dragon roll which is fried tempura with avocado and Memorial Park roll which is spicy salmon with seaweed on top. They have a pretty decent menu with it's of options or sushi, specialty rolls, vegetarian, hibachi, etc. Food came out pretty quick but we were 1 of only 2 tables in restaurant. My friends and I wanted some sushi after work today so we went for Sake House. When we first walked in, there was no one to greet us, until one of my friend yelled out hello. After the hello a woman came out and we were seated. We didn't even get to look at the menu yet, and she asked us if we were ready to order. We kindly said no and to give us a minute to look ag the menu. So therefore, one star off for the service. As for the food, everything we ordered was delicious. I got the tuna tataki and riverside sushi roll. One of my friend ordered crab rangoon and this fried sushi roll (I don't remember what it was called), while the other ordered the Jimmy Smith sushi roll and the jalapeno crab appetizer. It came all came with some clear soup, which we didn't know about. The tuna tataki and the crab rangoon was good, but man the jalapeno crab was amazing! I highly reccomend this appetizer if you like a little bit of spicy and cream cheese with crab. I loved the riverside roll with the shrimp sauce and ginger. Everything blended in so well. Perfect harmony I would say. But don't get me wrong, the jimmy smith and fried sushi roll was good too. It was deliciously yummy rolls! Sake House at 5 points is still one of my favorites. They have all the rolls you are used to eating and then some. That is where my love really belongs here. The rolls are always fresh and delicious but it's the flavor fusion with some of the unique rolls like the Jimmy Smith that keep me interested most of all. Sake House knows a flavor profile! I've been wanting to write a review for Sake House for sometime now. It's definitely one of my favorites in town! The Dragon roll is by far the best in the city IMHO. Also their Sashimi Deluxe boat is just absolutely amazing. All of the fish is so fresh (freshest in town) and perfectly plated. I always sub out Escolar because I'm not a fan but you do you. The Tuna Tataki is another favorite of mine, highly recommended as is the Maki roll. Salad, miso or clear soup are a great accompaniment and come with every box/boat. Sake House is located right on the corner of 5 points and has outdoor seating for those that have a pup like me. Check them out if you haven't been, the lunch specials are very affordable and the restaurant is nice & atmospheric inside. I have been to sake house quite a few times. Mostly for lunch and have also ordered delivery through a third party multiple times. Either way the food is always consistent. When you dine in, you can enter from park or from Margaret. The restaurant is actually much larger than it appears from the street. I have always been able to be sat right away. The service is always very good and the service is efficient. I have had both the hibachi and the sushi. I personally enjoy the sushi lunch special the most and they are great about substituting rolls though there may be an additional charge. The lunches in the restaurant come with soup and salad. When you get it to go, you do not get the soup or salad which is kind of a bummer. The prices are very fair and the food has always been fresh. I highly recommend, especially for a quick lunch or a working lunch as it isn't usually very loud inside. read more

Picked this place for dinner. It's in five points in Riverside. There's street parking out front. It looks small but there's actually a whole other area in the back. I ordered clear soup with Salmon and yellowtail sashimi with water. My two rolls were the shrimp tempura roll and the Blue Monster roll. Both were really good. The Blue Monster had eel in it which I also enjoy. My partner got clear soup, ginger salad, and the steak and shrimp hibachi with noodles and egg fried rice with coke. My daughter had the chicken nuggets kids meal with apple juice. And one of the sushi chefs gave her a white bunny candy. Unfortunately it was tough for chewing so we weren't able to give it to her since it posted a choking hazard. But we appreciate his kindness anyway. Arigatou gozaimasu! read more

Been coming to this place for years. I love sushi and this place and sushiko are def my favorite places I've tried by far. I'm pretty sure sushiko is owned by the same people as the quality and menu are very similar. Don't quote me on that tho, it's just something I have heard. We tried Sake House and really enjoyed it. If you check in on Yelp you can get hot sake for free or something else. We decided to try hot sake. It's not our taste. The food was amazing. We got chicken fried rice with extra egg not realizing how big the serving is. I wouldn't have ordered a side of fried rice if we had known. We each got a jimmy smith roll and it was good. No bueno. The place is a 3 star review so let me explain why they lost a star tonight at the end of my review. Not many customers at this quite simple and spartan venue, but I saw a brisk food pick up business while dining here. Service was polite. Food was average. I had a bunch of nigiri and a shrimp tempura roll. Nothing to wrote home about, so 3 stars. So here is the demotion. When I checked in Yelp I was served a coupon for either a free appetizer or a free hot sake. I showed it to the server who tapped on "use it" and opted for the hot sake. They charged me for it so I reminded the server. He said it is the marketing company and could not honor it. Yelp, they don't honor your coupons. I have no idea what the deal is. First time in 5 points with a guys night out and this was our first stop of the night. From a bountiful menu to excellent service I can not think of one complaint. We had a table of six, and were given all the time we needed by our waiter who was very friendly, appreciated, and professional. He recommended many items and drinks for us to try, which we did and loved every one of them. We did the yelp check in and received a free saki or you could of chosen a free appetizer. The food was fresh and came out quickly. Our waiter was able to ring all of us up separately without any hesitation. This is the Sake House in the 5 points area. I really enjoy this location. The other day, I went shopping with my niece, then walked down to have sushi, then we walked down to Memorial park. The food quality is consistent with the other Sake Houses I've visited... specifically the one in San Marco. Yummy. I ordered 3 rolls and received clear soup. My niece ordered the Hibachi chicken. It came with soup, salad, noodles, vegetables and rice. Wow.... that's a lot. Needless to say, we both left with a doggy bag and had a fabulous "leftover" dinner. Décor is clean and fun. Stopped by Sake House in Five Points Riverside for Dinner on a Friday Night around 6:00 pm. We were immediately greeted and seated as we walked in to the restaurant. The setup of the restaurant had booths on the side table seating in the front and the sushi bar in the back. The atmosphere was small and cozy during our visit. The sound was overall quiet if you are looking to carry on conversations with others at a comfortable level at your table. We placed our drink and sushi/food order and within 10 minutes the appetizers came out. Shortly after that our main meal arrived. For appetizers , we had the Jalapeño Kani (Jalepeno stuffed lightly with cream cheese, crab stick and lightly tempura battered with a sweet teriyaki like sauce and shrimp sauce) that was sooo tasty and came out warm! We also ordered the Diablo Sushi which also came out warm on the outside but and fresh inside. Our main course of Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp was a good sized portion. The meat, veggies, and noodles are seasoned well. It did come with a side of fried rice which wasn't anything special but well just brown and fried. All in all we had an excellent experience and got to try our a new appetizer and place! Very nice sushi restaurant located in Five Points. My bf took me here for my birthday dinner because we wanted to try something other than our regular sushi spot in Avondale. Based on other reviews, we decided to go for the Samurai, Annie and Dragon rolls. The bf, who prefers to eat sashimi because he's a native Californian and somewhat of a sushi snob, ordered several pieces of the sushi a la carte but then shared my rolls with me. We were seated in a booth without wait on a Thursday night around 6pm in the backroom. The place was clean and nicely decorated. Our table was right next to the sushi bar so we got to salivate while we saw other orders coming out. The waitress gave us a complimentary appetizer of jalapeno crab sticks lightly fried tempura-style. A fabulous surprise and a sweet gesture! Then, they quickly brought us our soups which were also excellent. I had the clear soup and he had the miso. It was a nice starter just to get our appetites wet. Next, came our rolls and sushi. The presentation was very festive and the rolls were generous and tasty served with plenty of ginger and smiles! We devoured it all! At the end of our dinner, they brought out a small bowl of fresh cut watermelon to share. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here. The food was yummy and the atmosphere--very nice and spacious. The staff here is friendly and accommodating and our orders came out without too much wait. Yes, I am on a sushi kick lately. As for Sake House, this is possibly the most creative sushi I've ever had. Their Annie Roll is the best! Tempura shrimp, cucumber, cream cheese, wrapped in seaweed and rice and topped with scallions and roasted almonds -- ALMONDS!?? Yes, almonds. This is my new favorite sushi flavor. Lol. I'll be back. They got me with the bait. Drat! Anyhow, my ex's girl would appreciate it here. They make their rolls tightly wrapped and extra delicious. The dynamite roll was superb. Just the right amount of fried ratio to hot spicy flavor. No, my mouth wasn't burning, but the spice was mighty tasty -- just the way I like it. Prices were similar to Crazy Sushi (another favorite of mine). One of my rolls was $7, the other was $6. I overheard some girls eating nearby saying that their teriyaki sauce was sweet. Oooh. We ordered drinks and were brought out a complimentary order of the jalepeno with crab and i think cream cheese..it was crunchy and spicy and amazing.. I have one friend that doesnt eat any seafood, and she orders chicken tempura with lo mein..all the rest of us ordered sushi, and one of us (me..sigh) ordered enough to eat another full meal the next day for lunch! The portions were good, the food was fresh and presented really well and the service was great.. One in our group gave in to peer pressure and ordered a single piece of octopus..just to see what it was going to be like..well because we are a group of goofballs, and the waitress pronounced it with an R, as in octorpus, we had her say it a few times over ..and we laughed pretty hard afterwards..the "octorpus" came and my friend wasnt able to even fully bite into it without gagging.. I really liked all the food i tried, as well as the "super dry" beer, which i asked the server how it was and he said ..."its very dry" I would go here again, as its location is great and there wasnt a single disappointment! read more

Compared to other sushi restaurants in Jax, Sake House is A-OK. Like many, they offer free soup and a complimentary roll. We had pretty good service from the staff, but the food took forever to arrive. Obviously not forever, but our visit was over an hour and half long. The Giant Lobster Roll was well-thought out and the flavors were fine, but it left a little something to be desired. The avocado was creamy and the the crab topping was fresh, however when you order tempura lobster, you expect to be floored. And this one didn't really do it for me. On a positive note, the restaurant is deceivingly spacious. Walking along Five Points misleads the restaurant's capacity. I'd give Sake House another try in the future, I'd order another roll though. read more

My fiance and I chose this spot to have our meal to celebrate my 30th birthday. The food was delicious and the staff were very nice and very helpful. I don't much, but my fiance asked about their Sake to find one that was sweet and they suggested their Tyku Coconut Nigori Sake. It was one of the sweetest drinks I've had without being too sweet, and I really loved it. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, which is one of my favorite go-to meal choices for any place that serves it. Their Teriyaki chicken was delicious, with the Teriyaki sauce really complimenting the chicken and vegetables. I had fried rice, which came out really fluffy and well flavored/ seasoned.
