Came here with a group of coworkers (10 of us!!!) the space is smaller and upstairs but we still sat comfortably! We came right at the lunch tush and our server was ON IT!! So attentive and really knew the menu! I had the red curry - 4 stars for heat and it was just the perfect heat!!! I added the scallops and it was delicious! Very flavorful and not overpowered by the spice!!! Looking forward to trying the drunken noodles the next time I go back, those looked YUMMYYYYY!!! read more

Indochine is located above Dorothy's in downtown Jacksonville. It's a short walk from the Hyatt and convention center if you're there for a conference. There are stairs, but if you walk straight through to the host/hostess stand at Dorothy's, there is a small elevator available. The décor was nice and there was a decent amount of seating available, enough to accommodate our group of 10 and another large group at the table next to ours. It looked like people came here with their families for special occasions. There was only one person working to cover everything from seating, take out, serving, etc., and he did an amazing job of staying on top of everything. He even took the time to explain to me that they recently decided to make their entire menu (save for the fried items) gluten free due to many requests they'd received from their customers. It was so nice to eat at a place that was so considerate! Their menu is definitely more fusion than authentic. I asked the server for a recommendation and he told me his favorite is the Curry Fried Rice, but it was a big portion, so I opted for his second favorite, the Drunken Noodles. I asked about the spice levels and asked for mine to be more spicy. It wasn't as spicy as I hoped, so I asked for a spice tray and added several spoonfuls of various chili flakes and peppers. My colleagues got the yellow curry and said it was basically flavorless, but they liked their Drunken Noodles. Always a perfect stop before a show in Downtown Jax and last night was no exception. Food, service and atmosphere on point and even my very picky ordering last night was greeted with love and acceptance! Recommend the Ginger wok dish add shrimp... tasty with fresh ginger, mushrooms, celery onion and pepper .. I swear there were 3 different kinds of ‍ in it... all bursting with flavor. Last night we went to see a candlelight performance of the Music of Queen and More by a string quartet. After, we decided to go to Indochine for a late, light dinner. Parking can be tricky downtown. Meters are hard to come by. This night there were meters a block or so away but with my mobility, we needed closer. The lot next door charges $6.00 for 2 hours and while the sign says to get validated inside, The businesses do not validate. We paid, no biggie for a night out downtown. I love they have an elevator or I never would have made it up the stairs. I also love that the music level is at a level that one can easily have a conversation with your companion(s). I've been to Indochine many times, but it has been years since the last time. The interior, while appearing to remain the same as it always was, was still, clean, fresh and intimate. Our waiter quickly sat us and brought water. I had already decided what we'd order, since my husband had never been. We ordered Angel Wing, Thai chicken bites and Satay chicken. Our drinks arrived and they were generous on the pour, although pricey, imo. The Angel wing was super crispy and very flavorful. I enjoyed it, although my stuffing had two small pieces of gristle, that is a big NO for me and I was done with that. I'd had two large pieces already so wasn't upset. The Satay was tasty but dry and the peanut sauce was different than I remembered, and not in a good way. We used the delicious sauce from the Angel Wing on the satay and it improved the dryness. The Thai chicken bites were flavorful, Smokey with a little kick. Worth having again. Our waiter was very attentive and did a spectacular job of taking care of us. I look forward to going back and trying a couple of mains, but I'd definitely choose a different app. Like a summer roll and maybe share a Laab chicken salad. read more

I try to bring my lunch to work as much as possible but when I don't I find myself at Indochine. I call in my order and then about 15 minutes later I walk in, pick up, and have a nice and tasty quick lunch for myself. I love the Chicken Satay! 5 delicious grilled coconut curry chicken skewers with a coconut curry dipping sauce. I like to add a tiny bit of their chili oil for a little kick. Indochine is a little hard to find if you aren't familiar with it. It's located on top of the old burrito galley. Its a little difficult to find this place with little signage. It's up a flight of stairs which can be daunting but a great reward once you are there. We were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered the Angel Wings; a dumpling stuffed fried chicken wing that was amazing. Mostly deboned, so crispy and bursting with flavor. Served with a Thai sauce. I ordered Pho with vegetables and Green Curry. My pho was so full of every vegetable and served with sauces, siracha, jalapeño, sprouts and basil to taste. The broth was deep, full of umami and he said chicken based. I ordered mine medium and the bowl was very generous. The green curry was creamy with thinly sliced beef served with rice. I love Thai and this place rates near the top. It was extremely hot and the stairs are my only reason for a slightly lower rating. Highly recommend. read more

The food here is soooo good! The crab rangoon has a lovely curry flavored twist and the Thai coffee is really lovely. I like the view out into the city from their upper floor and the atmosphere is some of the coolest I've seen in Jax. The entry way has an incredible dragon mural and would be so ig worthy for posts or a fast shoot with friends after food. There is a great happy hour special too with these fresh spring rolls that you dip in a peanut or cashew sauce. Absolutely so fresh tasting for veg lovers or vegans. I love to grab them to go walk around downtown exploring so I don't feel tired but have a full tummy. Some really neat beer on the menu to try too! read more

I absolutely love this hidden gem. It's downtown so automatically has that urban feel but once inside you feel like you've stepped into Thailand. The food was superb and unique, an excellent blend of east Asian dishes. We tried and loved so many dishes: The fried tofu, crab Rangoon, red curry, panang curry, and the Thai tea. Tonight I got take out pad Thai on spicy level 2 and crab rangoon (downtown location). The crab Rangoon was good, but the chicken pad Thai tasted like nothing. I mean nothing. Fantastic service and generous portions! Despite the rising cost of seafood, the jumbo shrimp in the fried rice were impressive. Every dish is packed with rich flavors, and it's one of the few places where the spring rolls actually come with fresh mint. My curry was a level 4 heat of 6 and wasn't very hot could have gone up easily but everyone said sometimes 4 is crazy hot others it's not, so be cautious! On addition to that ... Came in as a big group of 8 with out of town friends. Service was great, I think our waiter's name was Matt. He was super attentive, friendly, willing to give recommendations and our food came out so quickly! Our table shared a few apps and drinks and enjoy the environment. I always go with the pad Thai level 3 spice and it's super yummy and not too hot. My husband went with the drunken noodles and opted for beef, not sure we'd have that again. This is our go to place before Florida theater events as you don't have to move car, easy walk. They got us in and out in plenty of time for our performance. Seem a bit short handed on wait staff, as our waiter was also bartending. Food came out quickly and was delicious. We had the drunken noodle with beef and their special duck. Drunken noodle beef was tender and noodles perfectly cooked and not gummy. I ordered a 2 and should have gone with 3 for heat, as mine wasn't really hot at all. A friend and I stopped in for dinner at Indochine prior to checking out the Van Gogh exhibit. I loved the décor and ambiance! We were greeted, then seated pretty quickly. I asked the host for some suggestions as it was my first time. She suggested everything but told us to try the pan seared dumplings. We went with pork. WOE, happy food alert. I mean, this food made me happy! They were gone quickly. Next up was the Thia chicken bites. Prepared in the shape of meatballs, they were bursting with juicy flavor! Served with a fresh mini salad with cucumbers. Next up was the main course, yellow curry, medium heat with shrimp served with rice. Deee-lish! The heat was a expected, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly with peppers, carrots and lots of onions (which I love). I used to frequent the Indochine in San Marco and I was so upset when it closed down. As a matter of fact, every time I would pass by it, I'd tell my husband how much I missed it. Imagine my surprise when he said, I wonder if the one downtown is still open. After a quick search, I found out it is indeed OPEN! I'm sad to say they are only open for lunch Monday-Friday but dinner is 7 days a week. We do not work anywhere near downtown so lunch during the week is not usually an option. However, my husband and I had the week off so we decided to go for lunch one day. We ordered the Angel Wing which was described as a stuffed fried wing. It sounded so odd but we had to try it. OMG, it was so delicious that I've dreamt about it! Do yourself a favor and use the sauce that comes with it and a little of the spicy chili oil. Sooooo good! For the main course, I ordered my usual - Drunken Noodles with Chicken. I typically get a 3 or 4 depending on how I feel. It was exactly how I remembered. It's the most incredible Drunken Noodles ever! I've been ordering them all over town trying to get this dish again and no one makes it as good as Indochine!!!! My husband got the Red Curry Duck. I didn't get a picture...he dove in the second the plate hit the table. I tasted it and it was very good and I know he loved it because he hasn't stopped talking about going back. Our server was attentive and the atmosphere was very low key. We will definitely put this place in our rotation of favorite places! read more

Indochine is a wonderful Thai food experience you need to try ASAP. I'll be honest: when you tell people the location is downtown, they get turned off but do not fret. It's perfectly safe, and parking next door (some hours may be paid to park) or there is the option for street parking. Up the stairs to the restaurant, you walk right into an experience. The smells are amazing and make you want to chow down the instant you sit down. Some people will call me basic for this, but I will always order the Pad Thai. If the dish is good and authentic, why not order it every time? I switch up appetizers every visit, and I try a different entree every blue moon, but I will always go back to the Pad Thai. read more

I wanted to update my review after my amazing visit this afternoon. I've been coming to Indochine for the past few years and I keep returning. The ambience is amazing and it has a great wall mural downstairs for Instagram photos. I came for an early dinner (4pm) so I was just in time for happy hour. Sadly they only offer one vegetarian appetizer for happy hour, the summer rolls, but they are delicious. I ordered the pho with vegetables and tofu for my entree. All of my food came out extremely fast and everything was great. One of the main reasons for my 5/5 review today is due to my server. Anthony definitely deserves a shout out. I got phenomenal service from him this afternoon. He was extremely friendly and attentive. Next time you visit make sure and ask for him! read more
