We come here at least once a month. It has a great bar and a relaxing atmosphere with some sporting event on the TV's. Krystle was our server tonight and she is by far one of their best servers!!!! She was so helpful and personable! My husband and I don't eat a lot of rice and I always have a hard time ordering sushi. She had them make all our sushi with cucumber. I got to have my favorite volcano roll and it was delicious! I also ordered sexy boy. It was great too. Krystle brought us different sauces to try with our vegetable style sushi. She also mentioned that their sauces and ginger dressing were made in house. I love the ginger dressing! I would normally say this restaurant is a 4 star but tonight with Krystle as our server it was 5 stars!!! We stopped in for lunch. Everything was nice as far as location, the waitress was nice and the restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. This restaurant definitely has potential to a great place! We ordered the lunch portion Hibachi Chicken. The chicken really didn't have any flavor! Tasted like maybe the chicken was boiled first and then put in a pan for a minute with no seasoning on it.... Just a bland taste. The salad was just ok. The soup was just ok and really didn't have much flavor. Now this is just our (my wife and I) opinion about this restaurant on what "we" ordered. The other dishes on the menu like sushi and other items really looked good on some of the photos we saw on other people's reviews. I've always seen this spot near my area but was not expecting the interior! It was decorated nicely, clean, and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. My family and I came for dinner and it was kind of busy inside but nonetheless good customer service. We ordered the following: - Krab Rangoon: 9/10 Your standard crab rangoon with cream cheese and imitation crab. I just wished they were more bigger but you can't go wrong with it! - Fried Calamari: 10/10 Super crispy, big, and delicious! - Rock n Roll: 10/10 Fried sushi roll with salmon, crab, cream cheese. As someone who does not eat raw fish, this was a classic and delicious choice. - Hibachi Steak: 8/10 For the price, it was quite huge and worth it. The dish came with fried rice, vegetables, steak cooked to your liking, soup, and a salad. The salad is more so a premade kit from Walmart with the choice of ginger or ranch dressing but was still good. The fried rice was quite mushy but not too bad. The steak and vegetables were cooked to perfection in my opinion. You can definitely share this plate with another person. - Chicken Katsu: 4/10 Not the best dish imo. The katsu did not have much flavor and the rice was mushy. My brother just ate the katsu but said it was not as crispy as he expected. It comes with a side of salad though. - Miso soup: 8/10 Just your standard miso soup that complements your dinner. I ordered carryout from here after a quick decision I was ordering in that night. I placed the order online and was quoted 20 minutes, which is pretty standard for online sushi orders. It was ready in ~15 minutes. I was satisfied with the rolls, the fish all tasted fresh and the rice was not hard. I really enjoyed the beauty and beast roll dipped in spicy mayo of course. This is our favorite go to sushi restaurant in Jacksonville. The ingredients are super fresh and the staff is always great. Hannah is our favorite server to request. The restaurant is super affordable compared to others of the same quality standard. The bar is also fully stocked compared to other places. This place is what I was hoping for / expecting. Service was quick and attentive. The food was priced in line with what I expect, as was the portions. We ordered a lot for two people (IMO) but it ended up being the right amount. I REALLY liked their edamame, which had the right amount of salt. Other things that we ordered were: tamago, smoked salmon sashimi, a dragon roll and a philly roll. So I'd say we tried a decent amount of their selection and we were happy with all of it. I've always heard the most important aspect of sushi is the sushi rice. Perfect that and you'll have perfect sushi every time. If only sashimi fusion would follow that advice. Ordered a touch of takeout for my mom and I. We got 2 clear soups, shrimp shumai, eel and avocado roll, krab meat roll, and a spicy tuna roll. I have to say I was disappointed. Usually I can count on Sashimi Fusion for a reliable experience, but they've let me down. The clear soup was over powered with chicken broth. The shrimp shumai tasted like all dumpling and no shrimp. The eel and avocado was a tiny dab of eel and more than enough avocado. The krab meat roll would've been good if the rice wasn't so bland. The spicy tuna was the only thing that saved the meal. The rice was perfect, it had just the right tough of spiciness, and the filling was definitely not skimped on. Considering this is the closest sushi spot to me and they've done me right in the past, I will probably try them again, but I won't be in a rush about it. read more

New sushi place to me but it has been around for awhile. The place is really nice with subdued lighting and a great full bar for the place. At dinner it seems everything is a la carte so no soup ordered. I should have because I do like clear soup. Waitress was very good. She saw how fast I was drinking the ice tea so she left the pitcher at the table. Nice touch. I had the volcano roll. Baked scallops and krab on a California roll. Great presentation and the size was perfect. Also had a baby octopus. I love those. The menu is loaded with all types of things to chose. You can get hibachi sushi appetizers. Cold and hot sake. Food is 5 stars, we had hibachi chicken. We went on a Saturday and got the lunch menu. I saw a person talking about bad after taste on yelp. THERE IS NO BAD aftertaste. Food is very good. Service was extremely good. The ONLY problem is they use soda cans instead of a fountain drinks and charge $3.59. The good thing you still get free refills. Restaurant SAVE money by getting fountain drinks and charge less for the drinks. I have a family of five and don't like spending close 20 for soda drinks after taxes. I guess we will be getting water next time but will definitely eat here again. Sooner than later. read more

I LOVE the atmosphere that Sashimi Fusion gives me, from the decor, to the lighting and almost everything in between... I was seated right away, had a great server and my drink never got too empty. Their Hibachi might be a little "spendy" to some but IMO it's priced perfectly for the portions. I ordered the fillet mignon and chicken hibachi for about $22, included was a salad, soup, noodles, fried rice and veggies. The noodles are better than the rice (really good) and my steak was perfection. Nobody is touching Fujiyamas on the north side but it's pretty good! I ordered a fairly large takeout order. Rainbow roll, volcano roll, south beach roll and the sashimi regular entree I was so disappointed. I read through the reviews thinking that I scored big time to find a place so close to home! For the price the roll sizes were so small and rice was sparsely wrapped around the seaweed wrap. The volcano roll is probably where I'm most upset. The 4 tiny 'baked' scallops were translucent still and felt very much like they were raw and not very warm. The Krab was sloppy and thrown on top (wish I had a photo of that) then the other rolls, said wrapped in cucumber....no it had tiny baby 'gerkin' like cucumbers sliced on top and a white fish that looked grey, wasn't described on the menu and supposed to have salmon and there was none. In our ADHD prone society, we like things quick and without a lot of fluff. So if this includes you, I will say - cool spot, Art Deco like decorations, great sushi, wonderful Habachi, good service. Okay, am I done? For those of you who like more, like-like, more details, more words, more, I don't know, stuff. Keep reading. First when you walk in you will be struck by all the cool back lighting and Art Deco type decorations. Then you will notice that the ratio of booths to tables is like ten to one. And the booths are high back booths offering a certain amount of intimacy and noise control. For dinner we wanted to try everything, so we ordered, er, uh, well everything. Sushi rolls, salads, Hibachi and more. Here is a partial list of food items: Miso soup - Excellent said my daughter between slurps Salad with ginger dressing - I could have eaten three of these the dressing was so good. Pink Lady - I have had this elsewhere and loved it, but this version was different. It may take some getting used to Shrimp Tempura Roll - outstandingly good Crab and Cream Cheese - another clear winner Mango Roll - sweet, but not fully committed to sweet, another dish I may need to taste again. Sweet Potato Roll - always a favorite in my Southern family. Tomago - since my daughter ate her portion and my portion, I will assume it is really good. I took half home like last time. The Waitress was new and she did an excellent job tonight. I love the lights and the ambiance of this place. I was introduced to this sushi restaurant by my good friend and fellow Yelper Rebecca, and I was blow away by the decor and food in this place. I would never suspect such a cool spot where it was located, but I am really glad she knew about it! I ended up having a lot of friends tell me that they have visited here as well, so I know now it is a good place to go for sushi. Start off with a glass of wine, because they will fill your glass full to last you the whole meal! I decided to choose the Maki sushi combo, which included the Hollywood roll, California roll, and spicy tuna roll. The pieces were beautifully cut and decorated, and they had plenty of flavor to them. The combo includes a choice of soup and salad, and I was happy with the hotness and taste of my miso soup and ginger salad. Our server was a little slow, but she was super sweet and friendly. By the time we got to our sushi, the place was packed with people. I was surprised for a Thursday night, but it lets you know that people come back for a reason. Finish off your meal with mochi, an Asian dessert that is part gel, part cream. It was different, but the strawberry and chocolate decorated plate was so pretty and tasted really good. Sashimi Fusion satisfies two of my life goals. First, it has really good sushi and secondly, it is conveniently located for me. If I don't have to drive far for good sushi I'm a happy camper and when Sashimi Fusion opened a few years ago I knew I had to try it. And try it I have, again and again and again. The moment you walk in you notice the neon lights on the wall and ceiling and just how funky it makes the interior look. It's definitely different (in a good way) than most sushi places that usually have wood interiors. The decor is nice and the dark table tops gives the inside a comfortable feel so spending time enjoying a meal is easy. It's comfortable enough so you can sit a while at one of their tables or booths or at the sushi bar. The service is fine. Nothing spectacular, but they try hard and that shines through. If they ask you to repeat your drink order or need to come back a moment later to confirm something about your order you know they're just trying to get it right. I appreciate that. But really, it's all about the food. And the food is good. They've primarily got sushi, sashimi (who would've guessed?) and hibachi with a few other items- -i.e. noodles- -as well. I'm a sushi ho, so of course I indulge in the sushi rolls. I've never been disappointed whether I ordered something raw, tempura or fried (Sunshine roll is DELICIOUS). Even something simple as a house salad tells me a lot about the restaurant. Sashimi Fusion's is no slouch. It's a nice portion of lettuce and julienne carrots bathed in their house ginger. It seems like every sushi place has their own tasty ginger dressing and this place is no exception. I so enjoyed the salad I ordered two...really.
