I come here ALL the time. Its probably our favorite place in the area to eat. I have tried so many things on the menu I can't even list everything. Lets just say everything I have had was really good and I have no complaints. Service is also very great every time I come. Yard House reminds me of your first kiss: you hear a lot about how great it is, your excited before it happens, during it your wondering what's going on, and afterwards you're thinking to yourself "this was definitely not worth the hype". So here's the good news, for as busy as Yard House is, the servers seem to be on top of everything and are polite. They seem to know their menu and have a good understanding of the beers offered. If you're going to just drink beer, Yard House might be a good stop. However, if you're going for dinner, that's a different matter altogether. Between the four people at our table two of us went with burgers, one went with the enchilada stack, and the other got the shrimp rice bowl. The only one of us who thought that they had a good meal was the one who got the enchilada stack. Both burgers weren't cooked to the right temperature and my burger was burned on the outside (charred adds to the flavor, this was decidedly burned). So at the end of the day, the long wait plus a less than stellar meal really means that if you are planning on enjoying dinner, enjoy it somewhere else. If however you're looking for a beer, Yard House is a good choice. read more

This is a typical yardhouse, but must more crowded then I've ever experienced at the yard house I visit in Virginia Beach. Although, even with the crowd, and getting a drink at the bar, our table was ready very quickly. I ordered the lunch special half salad and half bbq chicken pizza. The salad was wonderful, leafy greens instead of iceberg lettuce is always a plus in my book. The pizza was cooked fine, but the bbq sauce used was too tangy and a weird consistency, it seemed they use bbq sauce in lieu of tomato sauce, and I was expecting a traditional sauce with a bbq sauce drizzle, and I was not a fan. But the price was good, at less than 10 dollars it got my full for lunch. read more

We ordered takeout and got the classic burger, wings 1/2 Buffalo 1/2 lemon pepper, fries, Caesar salad, and a kids Mac and cheese! Everything was fresh and the wings were crispy and seasoned well!! They also made sure any substitutions were paid attention to and provided enough plastic ware and wet wipes!! It made the night so much more enjoyable. A girl friend and I decided stop by for a Saturday lunch. My first thought was that there is no entrance to the restaurant from inside the mall where we had been walking around. You have to go outside to the restaurant's front-facing entrance. It would be nice to have a mall entrance during unfriendly-weather days. We were greeted immediately by a host at the table. There was another person there talking on the restaurant phone, most likely with a customer. The host acknowledged our need for a table of 2, reached for 2 menus, and then turned right around and answered another phone that just started ringing. We just kind of stood there awkwardly and unsure of what to do, because we had no idea if someone was coming to get us or if he was going to get off the phone soon. After a few min, another hostess came up to us and took us to a booth in the back. We ordered the lobster/crab dip as appetizer, and two black truffle burgers as entrees. I substituted my regular fries for truffle fries, and they were just YUM. No other word for it. Seriously, GET THE TRUFFLE FRIES. The dip was nice but nothing to write home about. The burger itself was very well cooked with the perfect amount of pink (medium rare), and very juicy. I thought it could have used a bit more flavor, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Now for the service. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Maybe a bit too attentive. He came to say hi, describe the immense drink menu, then left. Came back and got our drink and app order. Brought us our drinks. Another server brought us the dip, then our server was there quick as a flash before we even got a chance to have a bite, asking how it was. He realized we hadn't eaten yet, left the table, then came back after we had 3 bites asking how it was. Then came back again halfway through our app to double check. Brought us our burgers. Came back to ask how we were doing, walked away about 10 paces, doubled up, then came back again to ask if we were still doing well (I just kind of stared at him nonplussed at this point). Then came back a couple times again after that until we asked for our check. Normally I like attentive servers, but this was overkill. We were in deep conversation and our server kept breaking into our talk flow. He was a nice guy, but needs to find a balance between attentiveness and giving some privacy. Went for lunch on a Sunday, around 1230. Happy to see there was no wait, and we were greeted by a friendly host team. The menu itself has a lot of variety so it's nice if you aren't sure what you want to eat. As my lunch partner put it - even if you don't know what you want going in, what you want is probably on the menu. There were many options for beers and cocktails, and the beers are offered in different sizes so if you're looking to try many, you can get some of the shorts. For food, we both went with the street tacos ala carte, which was fantastic. I got the mahi, the korean bbq and the vampire. I have to say - all three were really delicious. As far as the service, our server was back to check on us fairly often and make sure we had whatever we need. I could see that the atmosphere could be a bit loud for some, but if you go into it thinking "sports bar," you'll be fine. read more

Went on Saturday around 2:30. It was very busy but was seated right away cause my party was small. My waiter was nice but overall lacked the sense of urgency needed. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich which I've had at YH in Norfolk. At this location it was slightly over cooked, the chicken was dry and did not have much of the sauce on it. I would give it a second chance because I like the YH franchise hopefully it will be better next time. read more

I'm a West Coast plant here in Virginia. This beer house is simply fantastic. I came here for the beer and then I had a taste of the food... amazing. The guacomole was delicious, which is what my g/f uses as a barometer for a solid restaurant. It was fresh, simple, perfect. She had the burger with truffle fries - which I couldn't stop eating off her plate - and it was cooked well as she ordered. It was still juicy and tons of flavor. My street tacos were outta-this-world. I picked three from the a-la-carte... the Korean bbq was the best followed by the pork belly. Seriously great eats when your downing delicious drafts. It's beer nirvana. Food it beyond good to almost excellent. Atmosphere on a Sunday was lively, but you can talk to one another. Location is fun being at the new mall. Call ahead for what??? To watch everyone go ahead of you while you wait for unbelievable times to be seated? It'll only be 5 minutes when you check in with your call ahead. Meanwhile walk ups are being told 35 minutes. Funny, we called ahead and have been waiting 40 minutes for 5 people. We are next we are told. Meanwhile 3 parties of 5 have been seated. What kind of system is this?? Unacceptable no matter how good your food might be. It's not worth it. I'd go somewhere else. Great food as always, but the hostesses up at the front desk FLAT OUT LIED to my mother and I saying there were no booths left. We specifically asked for one and pointed to the two empty ones available. They seated us at a low top table right next to the kitchen. It was loud and we were being constantly bumped by kitchen staff. I watched three other couples request booths and be seated at the two that were emptied. Tried this restaurant yesterday with the family for the first time and it was great! For starters or server (Jose'...I hope I got his name right) was THE BOMB!!! Not only was he welcoming but he knew the menu like the back of his hand...he knew what to suggest...he knew what each selection came with down to the garnish and tbh I'd never experienced a server so patient. I wind up ordering the Nashville Hot chicken breast with the sweet potato pancakes which was delicious...my husband got a burger and the kids all got chicken tender kids meals which came with either fruit...veggies or fries with a drink included and dessert (vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup) the portions were perfect and everything tasted great. All in all our total only came to around $80 with two pint sized beers and an appetizer of lumpia included...to some that may seem like a lot but for my family of 5....this was great! I'd definitely say this place is worth a try! Don't let it being attached to the mall fool you...I actually forgot that we had just went shopping bc the atmosphere is totally chill. read more

I want to like this place so bad, the beer selection is absolutely amazing and the ambiance is nice. The food is mediocre though, yard house spreads itself too thin with such a huge menu. I ordered the truffle burger with fries and the IPA six pack sampler. The burger was well cooked and the truffle cheese was interesting but it was lacking seasoning. The fries are the straw cut ones that really just cool down way too fast. Portions were perfect. Overall the food was decent but not impressive. The beers were delicious though and I loved the variety the samplers offered. They were 30 oz for $10 which is a very fair price given the variety. Service was good but our server seemed a little green still. A for effort! I get the feeling this is more of a happy hour place than a lunch/ dinner place. read more

I was introduced to the Yard House in Palm Beach Gardens, FL back in late 2005. It became one of my favorite watering holes after work during my brief time in South Florida. Fast forward to this year, we didn't know there was one in Northern Virginia until we drove by it last summer. Earlier today was our 4th visit (first time for lunch and second time sitting outside). The service has been mostly positive as were our meals. Our favorite item there is their salted caramel butterscotch pudding, which of course we save until the end. There are other restaurants we go to when at the Springfield Mall, but this one stands out to us (especially me). read more

They closed the kitchen 30 minutes after we got there and she was trying to clear stuff up and still somehow managed to ask us if we're okay and bring us any necessary things we needed. So, I have always been a fan of YH... since my days in in Va Beach, we had one right around the corner and it was quite convienent when you wanted to get out and have some fun. I have tried several of the dishes on the menu and all are really good. My faves are the Korean Short Ribs appetizer and the Truffle Mac n Cheese... both are superb!!! Now... on to the important stuff... Beer... they do not have beer by the bottle... only the pint and goblet... oh and the half YARD... now granted the yards are the lower abv, less tasty brews, and more a novelty than beneficial... pretty cool. The bartenders are usually pretty darn cool, remember their customers and very attentive. My only complaint... cost... it is not a very cost effective place if you are worried about that sort of thing... read more

Literally stopped by for a drink while waiting for our uber. My friend and I ordered their mules. Chris one of the bartenders gave us a little schooling on their homemade ginger mix that they used in their mules and many of their cocktails. It was nice! Once our mules arrived, my friend got the Moscow mule and I ordered the Hawaiian mule, you can taste the ginger! It was yummy! Very heavy on the ginger though so if you want something lighter opt for the Hawaiian, surprisingly the pineapple and ginger go well together. I would definitely come back and try their happy hour! This was probably as close to the worst meal I've ever had that you can get. The only reason it has three stars is because my Malibu Peach Martini was REALLY good. The wait for a table on a Saturday night wasn't too bad, but the wait for our food was about 30 mins. I had the Southern Fried Chicken and I'm so glad I got the gravy on the side because it was awful; I cant even describe the taste! My chicken was burned (I'm not fond of skin, so I just pulled it off), and the baked beans had waaaaay too much vinegar. They should stick to mixed drinks and beer, skip the food and just throw some cocktail nuts on the tables. For real. We probably won't be back. read more

When I came in with my children and grandmother I was a little worried I'd made a mistake - the chrome, black, noise, bar, tvs and general style made me think I was going to be disappointed with the food and sorry I came but the server took us to a side table out of the way and the food was *really* good, the highlight of the experience. This is the first DC area Yard House location I've been to. I have eaten at the location in North Hills in Raleigh, NC. Both are very similar and very good. They offer quite a few different dishes and they have an affordable lunch menu that goes until 5:00 pm. The major complaint I have about the Yard House is the heaviness of the food. I have a very light stomach and most of the sandwiches and pizza are heavy. They also do not offer southern Sweet Tea. This is something to consider when going to eat at this location. read more

Came back here on Sunday night before catching a movie. We ordered the lettuce wraps and the Cuban Pork roast sandwich. The lettuce wraps were delicious and big portion for an appetizer order. The Cuban sandwich was a little too salty for our taste. The service was great and we didn't even have to wait that long for our table. We also ordered their Kona coffee sundae dessert which was alright. Nothing spectacular. Definitely will come back though to try out different beers and maybe check out their happy hour deals! Had the pleasure of visiting Yard House for the first time this past weekend. I was very impressed. As an avid beer lover this was the place to be on a Sunday afternoon. They had an extensive list of beers on tap and tons of great things to try. you can order a pint or a yard which I think is about 3 beers! Before I begin, let me start by saying that the truffle oil French fries are AMAZING!! The flavor is subtle but leaves you wanting more. I'm a huge garlic fries lover and the truffle oil fries were a bigger hit! The service was great. We were seated right away and even got to sample a couple of beers. I actually found one I liked! The food was superb. The burgers were juicy and fries were flavorful. Even the kids meal had huge portions. We got our son a spaghetti with meatballs and it was like an adult sized portion. Went for drinks & appetizers. Our first server, Peter was great. Friendly, not smothering but not ignoring us either. Perfect balance. From what I sampled/ate: the chicken tinga taco was deeelicious. I love french fries and based on what I've heard, I had high hopes. THEY. WERE. COLD. As busy as the place was, as many orders of fries that I saw being brought out, the fries should be fresh and hot. Also tried the ahi stack. It was good. The drinks- I wasn't impressed with any of them. Anyway, our server changed because Peter's shift was ending. We closed our bill with him intending to order more food & drinks with our new server- Christine. She came to check on us once while we were deciding what to order next. She never came back. Okay, I first gave this place a try the day after New Year's and have been back several times since then. I absolutely love it there! The atmosphere is that of a nice sports bar, yet it is also family friendly. There are TVs everywhere, high top tables, low top tables, and booths. It is a little dark, but I think it adds to the environment which makes it nice! Most of my experiences have been bar experiences but the one dining room experience hasn't been so bad either. There is almost always a wait when I walk in, whether it be for the dining area or bar. We were quoted a 45-55 minute wait for a table one day but ended up being seated within 20 minutes. The bar is HUGE. I don't think I've ever seen so many bartenders on duty at one bar...lol. There is also plenty of standing room around the bar if there are no seats available. As crowded as this place gets, I've never felt uncomfortable or too packed in there. If you like beer, this is the place to go. I've never seen so many beers on tap! I'm not a beer drinker but there is plenty to choose from on the cocktail list. My favorites so far are the Brazilian Lemonade (Joel makes them the best) and Escalade Margarita. Happy Hour is a little early and short (from 3-6pm), but the lunch specials are from 11am-5pm which is a plus. The menu is pretty extensive and has something for everyone's taste. I've tried a few things so far (pizza and garden salad, turkey melt, spinach, crab and artichoke dip, deviled eggs, asada taco, baja fish taco, caribbean penne pasta) and have been happy with them all so far-- my only complaint is that the spinach, crab, and artichoke dip comes with plenty of chips and pita bread but not nearly enough dip! I'm looking forward to visiting again to try some of the other items. The burger list looks amazing. All in all, this has become one of my favorite go-to spots and finally glad to see somewhere "happening" in Springfield! If you have patience for the parking situation (not the restaurants fault), definitely give them a try! read more

I liked it. Only thing, the martini that I really want - they didn't have. So I had to settle for something else. I didn't have anything exotic for a meal - a burger and fries. But my goodness, maybe I was hungry or something...but it tasted so good. Perfectly cooked...and had the right amount of mushrooms. Goodness my mouth is watering as I type this.
