Came in with a group of friends. We had a super long day and needed to unwind and get a bite and a drink. We walked in and although it was a little busy, we were seated promptly. Hostess was friendly. Our server Kaela approached us as soon as she noticed us, greeted us with a smile and offered us a drink. Went to the Cowboys training camp today and stopped here for dinner on way home. Took about 5-10 minutes for a table (she said they had to clean them). We ended up at a really large booth table (they're we're 3 of us). I ordered the Cuban pork dip sandwich- it was delicious, however the sandwich wasn't warm or hot, and the fries were extremely salty. My son ordered the chicken mango tacos vampire style (cheesy taco shells). He said it was also delicious, but the chicken was dry. It came with spicy rice and beans- he also said were great. All of the food that I've tried so far has not disappointed me and they're all definitely worth the price. I got the lunch size roast beef sandwich with the chicken tortilla soup and the brussel sprouts appetizer at this location. Let me tell you, i hate brussel sprouts but these are smothered in a really good aioli sauce and it's heavenly. I highly recommend it. I'm surprised that I haven't written a review for YH since I've been here on multiple occasions. I must say that when I originally heard 'bout this place opening up, I was super stoked 'cuz I used to hit up the one in Santana Row up north alllllll the time. YH is a super chill, laid back, noisy restaurant. How can that be you ask? Well, having that brewery ambiance your going to have people talking really loud 'cuz they've been drinking, plus it always seems like the music is turned up extremely loud here. So although you have someone sitting right next to you, expect to repeat your self a couple times. With all that said, I still enjoy the vibe whether sitting inside or out on the patio which come equipped with heaters. Wait service? I've never had any severe problems with the wait staff except a slight wait, but coming here on weekends is something you should probably avoid because it gets super busy. I like sitting at the bar with my husband because you meet some cool people and bartenders have to be attentive if they want their tips. The food?! I'd have to say that the food served here is on its own level. Not the typical restaurant food, here their dishes definitely have that fusion twist and the presentation is on point. At our last visit I tried a few of their street tacos which were amazing. I also ordered the ribeye which was cooked to perfection, medium-rare with the beautiful pinkish-red center...mHmMmmM... One would say this place is "pricey" but the quality has always been good and the atmosphere is always fun. So, I've been to many Yard house locations, but I don't recall ever having to wait over 90 minutes to get seated. This new location is thee place to go to in Oxnard right now, my girlfriends and I came here 2 weeks ago on a Saturday night. Wait was over 90 minutes which sucked! When we got seated our waiter was pretty awesome. he told us some of the good appetizers and was very polite. Another plus about this location was that one of the waiters saw us taking pictures and offered to take a picture of the three of us. That's rare, I usually would have to ask so I appreciated that. My favorite beer from Yard House is the Rose Gaarden (I think that's the name of it). It was more of an appetizer/beer night for us. The appetizers were all yummy, but I didn't really care for the fries too much. Another negative thing about this place is the MUSIC!! OH EM GEE, it was super freaking loud! My girlfriends and I were pretty much screaming at each other. By the time we finished and walked out to our car felt like we just left a damn concert. I'll try coming back here when there's no wait, or less than an hour wait...hopefully the music isn't as loud. read more

Oxnard has been blessed to have a Yard House! No need to venture out to Northridge (which had the closest one) but just drive on down to The Collection in Riverpark :D I have been here on two different occasions with two different experiences. My first time here was during happy hour with a friend and it was AWESOME. I had the fresh chicken lettuce wraps with a wide variety of sauces and it's become my favorite dish here. My friend and I also split the chicken nachos and glad we did because the proportions on that thing is HUGE lol Our split bill came up to ~$11 with tip :) On my second occasion, that same friend wanted to have a birthday dinner for 10 people and there must have been some miscommunication with who to talk to about asking for seating for a large party at the restaurant check-in but they do try to accommodate everyone which is cool. We asked our server if he can do something special for our birthday friend like bringing out a cute birthday dessert and sing happy birthday but when he brought out a mini dessert for her, he didn't even stay to sing happy birthday. He just brought over her birthday treat and bounced, which is awkward because doesn't everyone stay (including the servers) to sing happy birthday? lol Another concern was having the bill not being split for the party of 10. It would have been nice for our server to ask us if we would like to split the bill before ordering and since we're a party of 6+, paying an 18% tip is completely fine but when it's one big check, there's usually not enough money going in :( Such unnecessary hassle and people pitching in extra dollars because we don't know who didn't pay up. This could have been prevented if we had the check split and I think all of us would be happy to wait for it to be separated. Not all of the food came out at the same time which is awkward because you don't want to eat in front of your hungry friends and drinks were hardly getting refiled because our server seemed unattentative towards us. He actually got offended when 2 of my friends wanting something and started their requests with "Hey!" instead of calling him by his name. What else could they do to get some service? So since I came here for the first time, the manager of Yard House contacted me and asked me to give them another try. He sent me a $20 gift card and I came in with my husband last night. We were pretty hungry, and I wanted to give them a good go, so we ordered a LOT of food. We got a small order of their mac n cheese as an appetizer to share, then my husband got one carnitas street taco a la carte as well as their lamb burger for his entrée. I wanted to get their vodka shrimp pasta but without the vodka sauce and just with some olive oil instead. Our server, Tim, was really good. He had a great attitude and took care of us promptly for the majority of our visit. But before I get to the end, let me go over the food. The mac n cheese was very good. I liked the pasta they used - a beautiful gigli style pasta shaped like a frilled-edged flower. This gave the pasta a lot of surface area for the cheese. I also loved that the cheese in the mac n cheese wasn't overwhelming. It was applied lightly and didn't drown the pasta. The dish also had chicken, mushrooms and apple wood smoked bacon. Overall this was very tasty and I would recommend it as an appetizer to share with friends. My husband found his carnitas taco to be pretty boring. I tried a little bit of the meat and I agreed - not much flavor. It had a nice looking salsa on top that I guess was supposed to be the flavor of the thing, but I'm one that prefers my meat have the ability to stand alone if need be. I didn't try the salsa as my husband said it was somewhat spicy (which he didn't mind). He also said he wouldn't get the lamb burger again. He liked the sauce on it (again somewhat spicy) but didn't care for the caramelized onions and said the lamb was just okay, not amazing or particularly well-flavored. My pasta dish was the highlight of my visit. I asked for just plain pasta in a bit of olive oil, with their chopped shrimp and fresh basil. Yard House delivered perfectly cooked pasta with tender, juicy and flavorful shrimp and yummy basil. The only downside for me was that the chef had added a little white pepper to it, which made it about a 1 on a scale of 0 to 10 spicy for me. While it didn't ruin it, it did lessen my enjoyment noticeably. I would get this entrée again, but would stress no salt, pepper, white pepper or garlic to be sure they don't add anything I don't want on there. After we were done eating all that (our server commented we were ordering a lot of food, and we agreed, and then the lady who brought out the food was surprised we ordered that much too), I wanted to try a dessert (since last time all I got was desserts and wasn't impressed). I was going to try the salted caramel pudding, but our server didn't return to the table for a while. My husband went to the restroom and I started playing games on my phone. By the time Tim finally did come to check on us and clear dishes, my dinner had settled more and I was no longer interested in dessert. Despite everyone at the restaurant thinking we were ordering too much food for two people and despite the check being over $60 (without tip added or gift card taken out), neither of us felt overly full when we left and we both ate a dessert when we got home. So, in conclusion, I would consider coming here again in the future, but we still need to find more menu items that work for us, and we'll probably try a near-by competing restaurant before coming to this one again, to allow us to make a more informed decision on which one to eat at when we're in this area. There are a LOT of restaurants in this shopping complex and many of the ones I haven't tried yet are rated quite highly on Yelp. Oh, one more thing I almost forgot to mention - like others say, this restaurant is LOUD!!! When I was here with a large group it was impossible to hear anyone who wasn't right next to me. With my husband last night, just sitting across from each other at a wide, booth table, it was still hard to hear each other. Not romantic or intimate at all. read more

He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. My sons had pizza and chicken tenders and they loved them. I had the ahí poke nachos, coconut shrimp & calamari. They were delicious! My favorite were the ahí poke nachos! I shared my meal with my sister who got the Margherita pizza & a chicken Caesar salad. The pizza was so delicious and the salad was very fresh. Sooo we just found out that there's happy hour every Monday night throughout the football season! 2$ off beers & cocktails, 4$ off half yards, and half price apps & pizza up until the last play of the game. They also have pint nights on Tuesday and bottomless drinks on the weekend. Although they are always packed here so tough to get a seat without a long wait. I think for the deals though it's worth it. We got both the lemon pepper and Korean Chili garlic boneless wings that were good. Small and average chicken with some pretty good sauces.
