Stopped in as the restaurant we were intending to go to had a 35 minute wait so thankfully Larsen's had plenty of available seating and did not disappoint! There was a piano player at the bar and made for the best ambience while dining in the main dining room and our server was spectacular. The food was delicious and the drinks were good and overall made for a nice evening before we had to attend a show at the comedy club nearby.

After having Larsen's here for years, we finally had dinner here. Such nice vibes inside. Upscale but relaxing. Delicious steaks, cooked to perfection. Nice cocktail menu. Extensive wine menu. Wish they offered a decent bread option. Normally steakhouses offer a good bread and butter menu option, and their garlic bread just doesn't cut it. Easy parking, short walk. Definitely pricier, but a good choice for a steakhouse.

First time here ! Happy hour is pretty good The shrimp tacos were the best I've ever had! They have a good spicy kick The Hawaiian Tri tip had a good flavor but the meat was not very tender and was a little Rough to tear off The sliders were nothing special but tasty they just need a little extra pizzazz The butter cake was 10/10 phenomenal Good customer service and beautiful restaurant and they have live music singer with pianist vibes were nice

I want to start this review by thanking Mark for his above and beyond service at Larsen's. His attention to detail was what completed our dinner. I chose Larsen's to celebrate my mother's birthday and made a dinner reservation online for 6 of us. We were a larger party which is why the attention to detail was clearly delivered. We started our dinner with 2 appetizers of the Jalapeno Queso Dip and Guac, creamy, cheesy, and with a little bit of spicy. Great appetizer to start. Everyone in the my party enjoyed their entrees from the New York Strip, Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, Rib Eye, and Sea Bass. I ordered the Hawaiian Tri Tip which I will rate an 8/10. The tri tip was a bit overcooked but next time I will simply choose a different entree. The flavor and taste was great. It paired great with their mac and cheese (order a larger size as it is very rich and creamy. Try and save some room for their dessert menu. The butter cake pairs excellent with vanilla ice cream. Among the dessert drink menu the PB & J Old Fashioned drinks tastes exactly like the classic PB & J sandwich. Overall, stellar food and stellar service for a beautiful night to celebrate a birthday.

Stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday. Not many people at 5, but Larsen's ambiance and service is always on point. Thank you Jonathan for a delicious dinner.

This review is strictly for the kitchen. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and the chips were extremely stale, but was replaced by our waitress who was extremely understanding. my husband ordered the ribeye asked for medium and it came out rare towards the middle and fat parts of the steak. For the pricing of the menu, you would think the food would come out correct the first time. Be cautious of the steaks if ordering any. Update: DO NOT recommend this place to eat!! My husband got food poisoning not long after eating from this restaurant. We will never be returning again.

Horrible "crème brule"

Disappointed overall. The food was just okay, but definitely overpriced for the quality. Service was very slow throughout the meal, and we ran into cleanliness issues that were hard to overlook. Several plates we were given were dirty and had to be replaced, and the tablecloth was also visibly dirty. The bottoms of some plates were unclean as well, which we documented in photos. Dessert was especially disappointing. The crème brûlée was genuinely bad. Three different people at our table tried it and all agreed it was unpleasant. For the price point, we expected much better service, attention to detail, and overall quality. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it.

I was spending the night in Oxnard and felt like prime rib so, I hit up Larsen's Grill in the Collection. I ordered a glass of the Sonoma Chardonnay and of course the Prime Rib medium rare and of course, everything was just outstanding. Not only was the food outstanding but also the service as I was sitting at the Bar. Great Job and if you are ever in the area, check them out and I'm sure you will enjoy your evening.

Went for Happy Hour . Service is amazing. The calamari tasted awful but really enjoyed the steak tacos and spinach dip. It's supposed to be spinach /artichoke but it was all spinach . Still great . House wine was good too. Why the 5 stars ? It is because when I told the server , Alex about the issue he took the dish away immediately and asked if he could bring anything else while apologizing. He went above and beyond to make sure ... he could make it right . We opted not to get anything else . The Christmas decor , dim lighting and soft music playing is always a vibe. Great place to meet friends and be able to catch up.

My BF took me here for a quiet, relaxed dinner last night. We started with the Maryland crab cakes (wow!! So yummy!) and I enjoyed an 8 oz. grass fed filet, with loaded baked potato for my main meal. I'd definitely order the filet again, but try a different side, as my potato was a little dry [even loaded w sour cream & butter, how I like it! :-)] The virgin mojito I enjoyed with my meal was very delicious - not too sweet and plenty of mint! Ambiance was very chill, despite a bustling crowd. We walked in (without reservations) and were able to score a table near the bar within ten minutes. Highly recommend! Wonderful selection of beverages & food items available. [My BF was disappointed to not see their BBQ ribs on the menu (his fav), so maybe I'll get those next time!]

Dessert

Would highly recommend for special occasions waiter Eddie was on point an excellent service

Filet Mignon that was supposed to be medium rare.

My boyfriend and I went in for Valentine's Day and they were very busy. Waiters tried their best to provide the best service possible but the food was very disappointing for the price we paid. I ordered a medium rare filet mignon and it was more in the medium/medium well side. I picked at it and tried to eat it but couldn't get it down. My boyfriend ordered the Chilean miso sea bass which he's had several times. When he bit into it, he said it had a rubbery texture and therefore opted out of eating it. We've come here multiple times before and the food was great. Service was still good despite it being Valentine's Day, but we were very disappointed in the food.

Larsen's never disappoints. Steak, Ahi, drinks, desserts, are all worth it. Happy hour or a special occasion this place is always a great choice.

This time we had a party of 10, which I know can be a little challenging for any restaurant. The service was still great. Everyone was super friendly and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I also love that they offer 3-course meal options--it makes ordering easy and quick. For starters, I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with shrimp and the sweet corn chowder. The stuffed mushrooms were incredible, packed with flavor in every bite. The soup didn't disappoint either, and the bread they serve with melted cheese on top was so good. For my main course, I had the filet mignon with truffle pasta. It was good, but a little dry--I wish it had been more juicy. My boyfriend got the ribeye with lobster, and unfortunately that one wasn't our favorite. Everything tasted a bit overcooked. I'm thinking it may have been because of the large party, since our previous visit was much better. Overall, I'd definitely come back--but probably for a date night instead of a big group. The inside is beautiful, quiet, and dimly lit, which makes it perfect for a cute romantic dinner.

The rest- The order: Husband ordered French Inion Soup, broiled salmon, and Mac Cheese: the soup had a "clump" of cheese in the bottom of the bowl of COLD soup, the Squaw bread that was served was luke-warm. Dinner came and the Mac Cheese was cold and old the cheese had sat too long and vulcanized to the bottom of the container. The salmon was over cooked, so too dry, and had sat too long, so it was cold, too, and the sauce (which might have helped) was missing in action... I ordered the 9 oz Sirloin steak (because 6 months ago, when I ordered it, it was good!). Tonight it was cold, ( cooked correctly) but it was so tough that I left 2 of the 3 ATTEMPTED bites-/ on the plate (pics to follow ). I ordered the green salad and baked potato as accompaniments. The salad was okay (high praise, considering the rest of the meal!). And the baked potato was COLD, therefore waxy, I asked for a replacement. It was brought out, and was as cold and inedible as the first. When the manager came to the table, I pointed out that it was too tough to eat... His response, "Well, sirloins CAN sometimes be a little tougher." Couldn't handle a $28. Steak being so tough that you couldn't CHEW IT!! The manager, asked if I would like a filet mignon instead.. At that point, I said that a hamburger would be an improvement, so he adked if I wanted a hamburger. I said no. I would prefer the filet. So they brought a THIRD baked potato--- this was at least hot!!! After 6 minutes I was given a 6 oz filet (alone) on a COLD plate! I made a cut and the knife went through a band of gristle that the STEAK KNIFE WOULD NOT CUT (see photo) I went to the other side of the steak and cut a bite, and it was tender and tasty!! Imagine my surprise when I cut (tried) another bite, and saw gristle and fat in the next 3 cuts... We are NOT talking marbling! We are talking LAYERS OF FAT!! I left the remainder on the plate! Hopefully, the manager will show it to the chef(?) because there is no way that the cook did NOT SEE THAT FAT!! So suffice it to say, we will NOT BE RETURNING TO THE Outback, in Oxnard!!

In Ventura's industrial area, the Cave is a nice, cozy restaurant that is hidden in the Ventura Wine Company shop. We were greeted by live music which made a lively atmosphere. They have the self vending wine machine with a decent variety of wines for all. I'm going to be honest - I did question the pour size. We ended up buying a bottle of wine at dinner instead and I'm pretty sure that was the economical choice plus it gave me peace of mind. I will say - the plating of the food is strange. Giant plates for small portions never really sits well with me. The kitchen's "thinly sliced" waygu steak was also off putting visually. The Jumbo Scallops w/Leek & Truffle Risotto ($46) is a must order. Scallops perfectly pan seared and that risotto I would eat by itself. The Lemon Chardonnay sauce was incredible. The Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs ($39) was okay. The meat fell apart as it should. The red wine sauce was okay but lacked depth. The creamy mashed potatoes were very good and seasoned perfectly. Wasn't mad that I tried it but would not order again. Wagyu Top Sirloin 12 oz. ($48) was very good despite the poor slicing. The creamy mushroom sauce was perfect to add some flavor but not overpower the protein. The Pepperoni Pizza ($18) was decent for my son. My daughter planned to order the Seafood Pasta until she saw all of her favorite things combined: Mac and cheese, bacon and pizza - the Mac and Cheese Pizza ($21) was honestly top notch. It wasn't overly heavy, the depth of flavor was great and it's extremely tasty. The spicy aioli was top notch. Overall, a good experience at the Cave. I recommend giving it a try.
