This place has great curb appeal and becomes even more stunning once you get inside. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and modern. The view is what really steals the show however. Unfortunately the day I went it was overcast, but I still could appreciate it nonetheless. The staff was extremely friendly and punctual. I've seen the other reviews about nonmembers being turned away and I hope this has been since corrected since IT is advertised that you can make a reservation through Yelp. I will try in the future and update my review accordingly. Now to the food. This is where we lose one star. The appetizers and dessert were fantastic, but the main course was a bit lacking in flavor. I honestly feel with a few tweaks to the menu would really set this place on top. Please review my pictures of the menu items I tried to see what I am referring to. All and all this place has exceptional potential and I will be happy to try this place again.

Food, service, & ambiance all of it was top notch! If you've never been here you are totally missing out. My steak was cooked to perfection and the salad was delicious! My husband and I live near by and are seriously giving membership a thought! He had the lobster tempura and lobster ravioli he approved!

As a local wedding coordinator, I have been to Spanish Hills many times over the years, but I finally had the privilege of dining at their members only restaurant. The remodel is stunning! So much detail went into the decor choices and overall ambience. I was very impressed!! My friend and I started with martinis, and I was already sold when they had blue cheese stuffed olives. We decided to split the poached pear and arugula salad, it was incredible. But the star of the show was the braised short ribs with pasta. I'm still thinking about it..... the Wagyu meatballs were also a great addition. I wish we had saved room for dessert because the dessert menu was more extensive than most! We felt so taken care of by the staff, special shout out to our server Kenzie who was patient with us as we continue to chat instead of looking at the menu when we first sat down. Overall great experience!

EXCELLENT FOOD ABD SERVICE. The truffle mac was our favorite. Beautiful location with great food to match ! My son rated it 1,000,000/10 and it's an honest review because he's on the spectrum .

The view from the restaurant

The restaurant is newly remodeled and beautifully done. It has great food with the best view in Camarillo.

Spicy tuna appetizer

Loved the spicy tuna appetizer and the salmon entree was delicious. And the mojito was refreshing had to have two

The view was everything! Weather was perfect, drinks were great, dinner was awesome and desert was the icing on the evening. I would definitely go back.

Dining at Topa Restaurant was just lovely. The food speaks for itself because we couldn't wait to take pictures, we just had to start digging in. I got the short rib dish, which just melted in your mouth. The pasta within the dish itself was an excellent decision and brought the dish even further up in the ranks, which I didn't think was possible. My family thoroughly enjoyed their wedge and caesar salads before their entrees, the miso salmon and chicken parmesan dishes, were brought out. They had nothing but good things to say. Our server Kenzie was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of during our meal. Other members of the dinner service like Shamsi, Kiana, Jack, Max, Christian, and Nick, were incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. The bartender Andie made delicious drinks, we got a spicy margarita and mojito crafted by them and it was out of this world! In addition to all of these AMAZING things, the view from the balcony was stunning, and seeing the Topatopa Mountains during a fabulous Californian sunset made me greatly appreciate that such a restaurant exists to create such beautiful memories with my family! All in all, go! You'll enjoy it!

Margaritas

Beautiful views to match an incredible menu! We shared asparagus, mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese. The ribeye was delicious and cooked to perfection. Margaritas and Palomas were just the right amount of tequila, no skimps! Our waitress and hostess were amazing :)

If you're going to hang your hat on the speakeasy aesthetic--dim lights, hushed tones, whispers of…read moreexclusivity--then understand this: you're entering into an unspoken pact with your patrons. We expect a certain standard, a level of care that borders on obsession. So when I catch Evan Williams--respectable, questionable, but barely twelve bucks a bottle--making an appearance behind the bar, it feels like a breach of trust. A quiet betrayal under low lighting. The illusion only works if the details hold up under scrutiny... and that pour? It broke the spell. And then comes the real offense: discovering that your Old Fashioned--the crown jewel of any respectable cocktail program--are built on bottom-shelf, dust-collecting bourbon. That's not just a letdown, it's a slap in the face. A cocktail like that deserves reverence, not shortcuts. And as if to twist the knife, there it was--a massive can of red maraschino cherries sitting shamelessly atop the bar, like some relic from a dive that's given up on finesse. It wasn't just a misstep. It was disrespect. In a place claiming the speakeasy mantle, details like these matter. They're the difference between theater and parody. The cocktails did not warrant the $15 price tag. Moreover, I would have paid more had I know the class of bourbon upfront. What ultimately redeems the space is its ambiance. The low flicker of the fireplace, the soft embrace of worn leather sofas, the curated hum of music floating just above conversation--it's seductive, even soulful. The room itself is small, intimate--the kind of place where you're bound to recognize a face, or at the very least, feel inclined to invite a stranger to share the sofa and maybe a story. And then there's the setting--tucked beneath a historic relic, a basement bar built into the bones of old Americana. The building dates back to the early 1900s, echoing with a past that deserves to be honored, not phoned in. That's exactly why I expected more from the cocktails. A place with this much atmosphere shouldn't fall flat when it comes to what's in the glass. It's a mismatch--a beautiful stage, but a script that doesn't quite rise to meet it.

I absolutely cannot get enough of this place…read more The basement here is really the place to be. I love the ambiance, and the history on the walls. The cocktails change so it's always fun to come back! I always try to be there when this section opens. I love the calmness of the space and it gets livelier as the night progresses and it does get packed Always one of my highly recommended spots for people who want great drinks, fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. I'm looking forward to my next stop in!
