My husband and I had dinner at the Yard House before a concert at Music Hall. We wound up getting downtown way earlier than expected. It was 4:30 on a Saturday and the place was nearly empty. We had a wonderful booth by a window with a view of the river. By 5pm, the place was getting crowded. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. They have an extensive selection of beers on tap and I normally love a good beer - however, there were quite a few flavored vodkas and that was the route we took. I would love to go back and try the beers! We ordered the chilled edamame to snack on while we checked out the menu. Delicious. My husband ordered a cuban sandwich and has decided it was the best sandwich he has ever had. I tried a bite and it was really good. I ordered 2 of the street tacos. One was steak and the other was short rib. Both had a salsa-y mix on top with some guacamole and a little bit of a kick. Nothing super spicy. I would absolutely order both of them again. We both had the truffle fries and oh my God, they were amazing. Parmesan and herbs on thin crispy fries. They were so good. I normally do not order dessert at restaurants but I spotted the salted caramel butterscotch pudding and couldn't resist. It was one of the best desserts I have ever had. My husband thought it was a little too salty but I am a huge fan of salted caramel anything and I thought it was just right. It was a little more expensive than we normally go for but I think the food was priced fairly. Drinks were a little pricey. For our food, 3 boozy (tiny) drinks, and dessert, plus tip, it was about $75. We left at 6:30 and the place was PACKED with crowds of people cramming in the lobby area to wait. Definitely worth checking out again. I can't wait to go back. read more

I visited on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday at the beginning of August 2015. The set up was nice and even though my friend made reservations for 20, they were able accommodate her party of 30 (people don't like to rsvp anymore). Yet, I give 2 stars because I ended up at a table near the party with 7 other people. I ordered my food and it took about 25 minutes to come out. When it did, it was cold to the touch. But I was hungry so I ate some of it. My other friends who arrived about 20 minutes after me ordered their food and it arrived about 45 minutes to an hour later. Their food was also cold to the touch. The waiter apologized and said the service had been slow like that all day. One friend complained and the manager came. She was nice and paid for everyone's food. Also even though the set up was nice and we were able to feel the summer breeze there was no light. As the day got later, the place got darker and we could barely see our food. I want to try this place again at a not so busy time. Maybe it will be better. But I did not have a good first experience. read more

Great food and amazing beer selection. If you like Belgian beer try the house Tripel. It's a great choice for vegetarians too because almost Anything can be made without meat. The service varies greatly. Ask for Scott B. He's a lot of fun and helpful with beer selection! read more

Great restaurant.... terrible location. The food, beers, and atmosphere are off the charts good... but this Cincinnati location is terrible... no convenient parking at all. It weird, I live 20 mins from the Yard House in Cincinnati, but I go to the Yard House in San Antonio, Texas and Addison, Texas, much more frequently than the one in Cincinnati. Whomever picked this location at The Banks in Cincinnati needs to be fired immediately. Bad location, inaccessible, and no parking... such a waste of a great restaurant. read more

I wished they would of closed at 8 before we got there. We could of saved 70 bucks. This is the best mediocre meal in the city.

Huge selection of beer. High quality food at a decent price. Service was excellent. Very accommodating with our large family with small children. Vampire Tacos get the win. Mashed potatoes to die for. read more

My team at work had a happy hour here one Friday afternoon. The patio is great if it's a nice day and the food was decent - nothing fancy, just typical bar food. Service was decent, however, I ordered three different specialty drinks from the bar and not a single drink had much alcohol in it - certainly not worth the $10.00 per drink. I will not be in a hurry to return. read more

Over priced food that was not good at any price. Ordered spectrum of complexity like the sushi my girlfriend ordered to my plane jane cheese burger. Sushi was awful, burger was burnt, and the tacos were also nothing special. Good selection of beer, apps seemed ok, I wouldn't want to eat here again. read more

I've been here several times since my original negative review not long after they opened and have had much better experiences. Good food and service in a beautiful setting, and I especially like the street tacos. I live and work nearby and will continue to come here. read more

Nice patio and beer selection. Thought the food was so-so considering the price. Better off just getting some dranks.

Went there for the first time for Father's Day and I really enjoyed the experience!! Had drinks, food of course and it was really delicious!! Definitely plan going back for more!! read more

This is a really cool addition to downtown dining. With specialty crafted beers and a full bar with some great cocktail choices it's a great place to catch a game or have dinner with friends. read more

Two recent great visits to Yard House. The food is quite good. The duck wings are the best and the pizza was a great price at happy hour. Try the desserts too! read more

Visited this place yesterday, didn't notice an outside dining area, so I ate inside-- and the place was dark-- I mean, "barely see your hand in front of your face" DARK! And they made it even worse with black carpets, upholstery, walls and ceilings-- and what wood there was, was a dark mahogany. I was also a bit put off by the sports on the TV's, but I can't complain about that, because this IS at The Banks, and EVERY bar and restaurant down there is sports themed. I went specifically because I was told they had Sushi and Sashimi-- which I LOVE. But when I checked out the menu, I saw that the only dishes they had that actually had raw fish were the "Poke' Stack" and the "Poke' Nachos". They had an "Ahi Sashimi" dish that was "seared rare" (AKA cooked), and a "Spicy Tuna" roll which also had "seared rare" tuna. Since I had my heart set on Sushi or Sashimi, I ordered the "Poke' Nachos", and a cucumber flavored cocktail called "The Refresher". The cocktail was honestly the only pleasant part of the meal. The "Poke' Nachos" consisted of warmed over stale chips, drenched in Mirin and Spicy Mayo, with a few pieces of avocado and some chiffonades of Cilantro. What little tuna there was on the dish was nothing more than gristly, chewy junk-- it was so chewy that it was inedible, and was like the kind of scraps that a Sushi chef would throw out in a legit Sushi place. Not a dish I would ever order again, and, unless they lighten up the place, or there's outdoor seating that I missed, I wouldn't likely visit again either. I give this place a '3' only because the cocktail was good, and my server (I forget his name) was very professional and personable. My verdict: Unless they make some changes, I'll skip The Yard House from now on. read more

Really great service. Short wait. Friendly staff. We were seated in a section no one was assigned to. When we got someone's attention and let them know we hadn't been helped it was handled amazing. I would go back again, and send my friends and family. Mistakes happen and when they go the way they are handled says a lot about the staff. It was a busy Saturday night and we felt like the only table in there, multiple large groups by us were having a great time and they seemed well taken care of. They were amazing and we had a great time. read more

ambiance is fun and energetic inside, and laid back and casual outside. The menu is overpriced, but the staff is great and very accommodating. The food is good/above average (I've only tried the vegan dishes) . The beer selection, NOW that is something unbelievable - still expensive, but if you go during happy hour you won't be disappointed. read more

Horrible experience. We came in at 7:30 and were told it would be around an hour, possibly an hour and a half. Well 2 hours later we finally had to go up to the front and ask what was going on? At that time they nonchalantly said oh we "forgot" to write down and call out your number, and said give us five minutes we are setting up your table now.... Well wouldn't you know we had to go BACK up to the front (15 min later) to get them and they finally seat us. We ask to please see a manager and when she comes over she decides it's the perfect time to argue and get defensive, and says in a shitty tone that she apologizes but every customer in here has waited at least two hours to get in! Well then don't quote an hour to an hour and a half??! This place really needs to look at their processes AND management staff. Rant over! read more

I've been there twice now. Both times the food was excellent!! Portions are large. The service is great. It is expensive but, you get what you pay for. Definitely a repeat customer!! The onion ring Tower is amazing. The cheese curds are equally good. this time I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, it was delicious. Last time I had seafood pasta (can't remember what it was called, sorry) that was also good. read more

Usually we come here and the service is great. Nothing amazing but we're seated efficiently and the food is pretty good. Today on the other hand we were seated at 4:50 and didn't receive any service for about 20 minutes. Finally getting a drink order in we were served a beer that had a noodle in the glass! After grabbing our server and putting in our food order it took another 30 minutes to get our food out. We ordered the Margherita pizza which they told us they were out of the crust for while bringing the rest of our food out, so no pizza for us. They had messed up the ticket order and gave us an ahi sashimi instead of the seared ahi sandwich, which added another 15 minutes onto our wait time. Unfortunately leaving here at 6:40, I am extremely unhappy with the lack of any apology from our server Mallory who seemed un-phased that we had been waiting so long. What a bad experience! read more

If it wasn't for us being here to celebrate life with family I would have left!!!! Our server Jessie was not capable of serving our party of 11 adults, 3 teens and 3 children. I had to ask several times for various things. I am the first that asked for my check, but she brought others their checks. After 3 attempts she finally got my check right. I most likely will not patronize this establishment unless with a group. read more

I went with a large party on Saturday night. They do not take reservations on the weekends, but we did finally get a table. The service is extremely slow. It takes forever to get a beer. The food was good and the beer selection was great. The wait staff seemed to be completely overwhelmed and unorganized. Our check was totally wrong and it took forever to get everything corrected. The restaurant was beautiful, but I feel they need improvement with the staff. I am not in a big hurry to come back. read more

I hate to report but this place has really changed and not for the better. My husband and I went for a nice dinner and drinks a couple weeks ago. Several things went wrong with the evening but the main thing was that the music was so loud you couldn't even talk to each other, we order and appetizer and fish & Chips and the entree came out first and when we did get the entree it was cold and the fish were like "fish stick" and we not at all crispy. We waited forever for our waitress to come back to let her know we weren't happy - never saw her, so asked to see a manager. When he came over to see what was the issue, we told him and he said he'd get us another order. The second order was not better...and the manager NEVER came back by to see how things were. VERY poor service and we won't be back... read more

Best buttermilk-battered Fried Chicken Strips I've EVER had, and I'm old!

Not sure why the title states that Yard House is Vegie/Asian, quite the opposite really. Regardless, If you like awesome craft beer and a sporty, downtown enviornment, this is the place for you. I could go 25 times and not get through the beer menu, especially considering that they have new seasonals coming out all the time! The staff is very knowledgable (at least, at the tables they are) and help you with beer selection and food choices. The food is pretty good as well, much better than your typical bar food. There is a great patio outside with an awesome view of the parks along the river and Paul Brown Stadium. It's also heated in the winter so the crowds aren't condensed inside. The real attration here is the beer, but it's supporting cast are aces all around. A must for anyone visiting the city and beer lovers alike. (Probably not great for kids though) read more

Happy Hour at the Yard House! I enjoyed the plethora of local and seasonal beer! The view of the Ohio river was pretty stunning at sundown. As expected, young attractive crowd! Lots to look at and talk to. We ordered a bunch of appetizers but I had a little bit of the Poke Stack, Calamari, chicken nachos, wings, and chicken garlic noodles! I liked the food, but frankly, I was probably more impressed with the environment and the crowd! Overall, it's a pretty cool place to hang out after a long day, watch a game, hang out with your friends and meet strangers from all walks of life. I would definitely check out the one in Santana Row. read more

Significantly over priced for what you get. Food is mediocre. Every time I have gotten take out, the portion seems smaller and smaller. I won't be back to eat. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because of the vast beer selection on draft. read more

Great food and drink but don't bring your children. I never felt so snubbed before. WE DONT LIKE KIDS HERE

Awesome place, incredible beer selection, great staff and food! I wish I lived closer! Great music too!

Always trying to think of places in Cincinnati to watch sports since for some reason I have no cable. Yard house is great because there are enough TV'S that you actually get to see the game. It also has a huge selection of beer and food which makes it great for groups. Definitely a comfortable go to for me downtown. read more

Worst happy hour ever! Only till 6pm. That gives you less than 60 minutes for most working downtown. Prices redicilous for a beer.i figure with $2 off it would be happy. 3 beers were $17.50! House belgium $6.45 House honey blonde $4.70 Ace pineapple cider $5.20 Have even more fun paying $2 more the rest of the time. Im not coming back. read more

I have a bad habit of losing my wallet. Well, not so much losing it as not having it with me. We have this great cafeteria at work so sometimes I will go and buy a grilled cheese for lunch. What happens is that rather than carrying my whole purse, I just bring my wallet with me, and then I forget to put it back in my purse. So my fiancé and I were really excited to walk to Yardhouse tonight and get drinks and dinner because it was so nice outside. I knew I had forgotten my wallet so I gathered up whatever I could find bearing my name and off to Yardhouse we went. I ordered a mixed drink and the waitress immediately asked for my ID. Instead of lying (that felt so juvenile), I admitted that I did not have my wallet but was able to offer an old expired ID. I explained that I understood if it couldn't be accepted but that I thought it was worth asking. Instead of turning me down, the waitress offered to look at the ID and fumbled with it a bit. She seemed really uncertain of what to do and mentioned that she could get fired for serving me. I again mentioned that it was not a big deal if she couldn't serve me; I certainly didn't want to be responsible for getting her in trouble. She said she would go ask her manager what to do. I thought this was strange. Wasn't she afraid of looking dumb in front of her manager? Obviously it's illegal to serve someone who doesn't have a valid ID and looks like they might not be 21. Five minutes later the seemingly friendly manager ambles over. She smiles and implies that there shouldn't be an issue; and offers to check the expired ID for me. I again say that it is not a big deal if they cannot serve me. After review, the manager states that, "the ID is very expired." Okay - either something is expired or it is not. Things cannot be "very" expired, just as something cannot be "very" dead. It just is or it isn't. The manager then says that if my ID were only a couple months expired, she would serve me. I did explain that the reason my ID was "so expired" was because the date of expiration was when I turned 21. Four years ago. The manager ultimately decides that I cannot be served alcohol and walks away. The waitress then comes back and apologizes. She gives a hot tip that if we try another restaurant and I don't mention that the ID is expired, people might not notice. Number 1: I am not so desperate to get a drink that we're going to hop around from bar to bar until someone serves me. I can go home and drink a bottle of wine on my couch, in my house, that I own, thank you. Number 2: the ID is from when I turned 16. I look like an overly tanned maniac and the ID has spilt nail polish on it. Thanks for the solid advice, girl. The reason I am most annoyed is that I didn't care that much about not being served alcohol in the first place! Yes, I wanted a drink, but again, I was not desperately begging for one. The fact that they dragged this out was kind of a tease and it obviously made me bitter. Also again, it's totally illegal to serve someone that you suspect of being under 21 just because they have a "barely" expired ID. The fact that they said they would have done this would have meant that they would have been breaking the law. Finally, there was too much dressing on my salad and the restaurant was cold. read more

After we were called to our 8 top table (Outside and our first time to this eatery), we waited for 30 minutes to begin the process of ordering anything. The server was kind and very friendly but did't know the menu. My party and I wanted to sample a few of the amazing offerings of beer, yet this process took another 35 minutes. Fast forward to ordering and receiving our Apps. 35 minutes later. The Calamari was very over cooked and like rubber. Another 30 minutes goes by. Now we move to entrée's. A Disaster! The burgers were very cold and so over done (We ordered medium) we could not eat them. The Truffle Fries were also very cold and limp as they obviously were left at the pass too long. One of our party got the St. Louis style ribs. They were raw! Yes Raw! By this time two very nice management staff were at our table trying to fix this debacle of a meal. They offered to replace just about everything on the table. The second round of food was better in the burger and fries department. The second order of ribs were so tough they could not be cut with a hatchet! Management were again at our table with many apologizes. They offered a free desert to all and then comped most of the food on our tab. Total time spent: Approx. 3 hours. Pros: Great selection of beers. An eclectic menu. A friendly management staff that really did care. A clean environment. Cons: Very Loud music while waiting for a table, and while eating. Undertrained wait staff. A great menu that could not be executed. Cold and overcooked food! 2 Stars is being very kind in our experience at the Yard House. We will not return! read more

It is a pretty cool restaurant with a wide selection of beers like 140 choices, thing is I do not drink so it meant nothing to me but the food is actually pretty good here. They have selections here on food you cannot get much in the Cincinnati area so I really like this chain its something a bit different. I will give it four stars, good to great but not amazing. I love the food thou and the prices are not that bad. I would recommend this place to eat before the Reds games, the food will be more exciting than watching the Reds play. read more

This is the last time I go to this slow racist restaurant. I don't know if it was because we had a large party or because the waitress was inexperienced with large parties. We were celebrating my father. They had no regard for us and half of our party left irate and hangry after no food for AN HOUR AND A HALF! That is no way to celebrate when your guests cannot even enjoy themselves properly. The staff lacks customer service, TWO white tables in our area were getting served right as they were seated and with a fairly large party as well. Oh and did I mention we had reservations??? (That were not met) the manager gave us complimentary desserts and was slightly concerned. that little dessert didn't make up for what we came for... a relaxing dinner. It was everything but that. And our food was super cold. Never again. Period. read more
