After 650 miles of driving I wanted to decompress with a beer and to stick my face in my iPhone, catching up on everything I missed over the hours I was on the road. How this was possible with nobody in there...is beyond me. The big neon Blue Moon sign in the window is a big fat liar, since they don't (and never have) served Blue Moon. I was informed that it is a "northern beer." For entertainment, there was a TV. Singular. I expected sports, reference: "sports bar" in the name. Alas, it was tuned into The History Channel, and Swamp People was on. Not sports, but mildly entertaining nonetheless. I'm totally spoiled by the quality of the tables, the…read moreservice (Evan and Brent are the bomb), and hubs says they have the best chicken wings in Myrtle Beach. He judges a place on its wings, so that's saying a lot. They stay open late, are non-smoking, drinks are strong, beers are nearly frozen (so good) and prices are fair. Bonus that's it's a mile from my house, but I'd easily drive a half hour+ to play pool at Shore Thing. Everywhere else we try to play is such a disappointment after playing here. Tip: it gets really busy with league play on certain nights, Wednesday being one. If I'm bringing a squad with me I'll usually call ahead and see how things look. You can play on the big table (regulation) for free, but during peak hours the big boys are playing there. I enjoy parking at the bar to watch and try to learn a few things from the pros. It's a bit tucked away in a strip mall without much street signage and parking gets packed due to Bimini's next door so if needed, park at the shops next to Office Bar and walk over. If you're cold-natured like me, bring a jacket, or two, lol.
