Yali's is a regular part of my campus routine. Coffee and bagels are good and reasonably priced, and I've tried a lot of their options since I come here at least once a week. I would recommend the veggie bagel with cream cheese! Atmosphere is good for light studying or catching up with a friend. Great Service too. 5/5! read more

I basically lived here my freshman year, and I don't regret it. This place is the only thing that makes me regret not having a mealplan. Their wraps are large and filling, and they have as many sauces and cheese as they do EECS majors. So much better than Subway, and makes me so much happier :'). Peet's is at the same counter, so you can order a lovely Mexican hot chocolate as well! There's WiFi and plenty of seating as well as couches and a TV at the back! The lines get really long around prime lunch hours (11-1), but there's never much of a line at dinner. Definitely still frequenting this place even though I don't have mealpoints anymore. read more

Don't come during rush hours if possible! During lunch time the lines are so long that there's one large line for paying and one picking the topping for your wrap. Luckily there's a separate Line for beverages Other than that the wraps are my favorite. I sometimes crave the wraps here at Qualcomm. If you're visiting Berkeley, I would pass. There are much better places out there to spend your money and get great food. BUT if you're a with meal points, this is one of the better places you can spend them. It's a great (but temporary) escape from the monotony of food offered in cafe 3 and crossroads. Those chicken wraps singlehandedly got me through the engineering program at Berkeley. Spinach wrap + chicken + avocado + any vegetables + sundried tomato aioli + a little bit of balsamic vinaigrette + parmesan = winner. read more

This may be one of my favorite places to study on campus. Why? 1) Outlets! I can just plug in my laptop and work and entertain myself for hours. 2) Natural light & plenty of it 3) You don't get kicked out for not buying anything & can bring your own food 4) Efficiency: separate line for Peets and separate line for wraps 5) The aroma of coffee keeps you wide eyed and bushy tailed! Food wise, the wraps are decent. For ~ $6, you can get your choice wrap (wheat, plain, or spinach), choice of cheese, choice of meat (if you order chicken, they give you 4 slices of chicken breast. so small!), all the veggies you desire, and a choice of specialty sauces. I ordered a whole wheat wrap with chicken breast, a bunch of vegetables, provolone cheese, and garlic aioli. The variety for the wraps is pretty impressive considering that this is a quick-eats establishment. It tasted very fresh, but the wrap & meat were not heated very well. A few more seconds would have done the trick! Overall, great place to study. Decent place to eat. My recommendation: Bring your books AND your lunch. You MAY have to fight for a table (I never had to), but don't be discouraged to ask to share with someone else. read more

The wraps are a waste of meal points compared to dining common meals, but probably better quality food. Drinks are nice if you have meal points, but I personally head over to Brewed Awakening for coffee. There is free water which I always visit for. There is a good amount of space to work but it sometimes gets full in the middle of the day. The tables outside are usually free. There's a nice atmosphere and I chat up a friend or two every week here. There are a few outlets as well. The staff are nice enough. read more

I used to come here all the time because it's one of the best places to spend mealpoints. I love the wraps (breakfast and lunch!) and the soups are good sometimes too. The best and most underrated part is the wasabi aoli--it's delicious when paired with the spinach wrap! I don't usually get coffee at this Peet's because I stick to my starbucks, but the lunch food from the actual food half is yummy! Too bad there's always an hour-long line around lunchtime, no free tables, and only one or two cashiers. I know there isn't much they can do about the long line and always occupied tables, but they could at least make the wrap and cashier process more efficient. This place has an impeccable location, but is incredibly disappointing. FIrst of all the place is run by Cal Dining NOT by PEETS. Most importantly the espresso drinks come from a big ROBOT, not a human being. LAME, and for me not even worth the name PEETS. The food is pretty weak as well. The wraps are a little tough and seem a little bit dated. Dont get me wrong, I will still go here bc of the location, and will be excited to come back and add stars as the offerings improve, but for now is severely lacking. read more

I hate to say it, but the Peets they serve here is currently the best coffee on the North side of campus. It also about 20% more expensive than its neighbors, but that doesn't seem to stop me. Well calculated Peets, well calculated. If it is food you are interested in, the "sandwich wraps" are bland, small, and exorbitantly priced. You can get 2x as much food for the same price at Quiznos for chrissake, and you could actually taste it. There are also the usual highly fattening corporate pastries for sale at the coffee counter. Yum yum. As a side note, there are always about 10 employees running around behind the counter but only about 5 doing work. I don't know if the cafe is trying to meet some sort of employment quota, but they could easily fire half of their employees and still offer effective customer service. And maybe they could even lower their prices... read more

This place is pretty great for a CAL student, but if you're not a student and either working at CAL or just passing by, it's pretty crappy. Why? The Peets here doesn't take any Peet's cards or free coffee things and the food is completely mediocre. Peanut butter and jelly wraps? I know I shouldn't knock it before I try it.. but does pb&j on a thick wrap type bread really sound appetizing? It sure doesn't to me... They do have things that sound appetizing like macaroni and cheese, but if you go there around lunch time, be prepared to wait. and wait. and waiiiiittt. ugh. FML. However, the big screen tv's, ample seating, modern decor and bright lighting make this a VERY unique place in Berkeley and very comfortable (note: anything new in Berkeley is pretty novel). Come here for quick coffee + pastry and to enjoy being able to find seating... everything else... meh. read more

I love this place! I came here all the time when I still had mealpoints from school, because it was probably the best place to go with mealpoints. It was also a good way to use up a lot of mealpoints at the end of the semester. Anyway, in the beginning I got half pastrami half salami, some cheese that I forgot but wasn't too heavy, a little bit of sun-dried tomato and/or garlic aioli, and all the vegetables. After eating it at least 2-3 times a week, I decided to go with just all the vegetables (except olives because they were super salty!) and cheese. So good, refreshing, quick, and healthy. I always asked for extra bell pepper and onions. Great meal. My favorite on-campus food. The line could get a little long and slow during rush hours, but it was okay at other times. Plus a nice frappe from Peets finishes the meal nicely! read more

I like the fact that it's RIGHT NEXT TO Davis Hall (my practically second home at times). I wish they opened later, but I guess I'll take what I can get. I used to get the wraps, but man, it's been disappointing. So many times they open new batch of wraps that they get from the fridge so it's really cold. And letting the wrap go through the machine ONCE is not good enough. So I end up eating a super cold wrap that doesn't taste good at all. Plus, it is really pricey, but sometimes I don't mind just because it's so big. But now, I come here just for coffee and maybe for an overprice croissant just because I'm hungry (and I don't want to pay for an overprice wrap). Their coffee is okay, not the best, but not bad either. I do like all their tables and the vibe (especially in the "orange" room). They have big flat screen TVs, so it makes the place look really nice. Plus it is fairly clean, so I don't mind studying here sometimes. read more

Definitely one of my favorite meeting places on campus. For one, the orange couches are always so comfy and the atmosphere, particularly the lighting, is very inviting. However, the couches are the devil if you're trying to get any studying done. I advise you to go and pick a table instead. With that said, Qualcomm definitely gets really busy during certain hours. I would avoid it like the plague during lunch, and making hit up Northside Cafe instead. However, late afternoon is usually a good time, and nowhere near as crowded. Beware though, it closes early, like 9pm if I remember correctly, and it has super weird hours during the summer, making a cafe a smarter choice. Food wise, the wraps are definitely something different from the typical food you find on campus. More healthy and you can customize. But the employees are super slow that waiting almost it makes not worth it. The drinks by Peet's are nothing special either, and the other food options aren't that great (i.e. the mac and cheese). For me, Qualcomm is more of a hangout place than any. I might write a paper or two there, but usually, I'm catching up on emails between classes. It's a nice place to lounge when you're waiting for people to get out of class, especially those EECS kids up at Soda or Cory. But other than that, I would advise you to eat elsewhere. Could quite possibly be my favorite cafe to study at on campus. I have recently started coming here almost every time I'm looking for a place to study. It's a big cafe with a great environment! I tried a grilled chicken wrap for the first time today and it definitely lived up to the hype. I like this cafe because it gives you healthy food choices that aren't too expensive, especially given the size, and there are always open outlets for laptops. It does get pretty busy around noon each day, but I've been able to find a table within the first 5 minutes every time. read more

They do the latte steamed milk thing, but there's not very much steamed milk, just a dollop. It'd be nice if there was more. Top is frothy. Slow Slow Slow!!! As a serious coffee connoisseur, I appreciate the convenience of this Peets location. Contrary to popular belief, the cup available down the street at Brewed and even Nefeli is hardly drinkable by comparison. To be fair, the main problem here is the crowd. When your medium coffee order is preceded by two bozos ordering tall white bianca mocha crappe caffe freddo whatevers, not to mention some whimsical custom spinach wrap, it's no wonder waiting in line takes 20 minutes. I suggest dumbing down the menu, organizing the register lanes, dumping the sandwich bar, and opening a goddamn window or two. They would do twice as much business, three times as fast. read more

Service: friendly staff. Avoid all campus dining during prime time. Meal point users galore. Food: the wraps are okay. The sundried tomato is the only reason in get the wrap. I usually go for spinach wrap with grilled chicken and most vegetables. Hold the olives and peppercini. I usually don't mind it but for some reason it is very overpowering. Pretty much everything about this caffe is unacceptable for a campus-based coffee-shop: none of their cups or utensils are compostable, all of their coffee is twice the price you would see elsewhere even just down the street, AND the cups are 1/3 the size of normal coffee cups ESPECIALLY for those prices. When they ask if you want to 'leave room for cream', they actually are asking if they can just not give you any coffee and just give you an empty cup with a drop of coffee in it. They are taking advantage of caffeine-deprived graduate students and it is a shame that they are allowed to continue operating. read more

I can't believe this place is not getting higher reviews. While service is indeed terribly slow, the wraps are filling in a serious gap in food options in this part of campus. The wraps are pretty big, so the fact that they are a bit expensive is not a fair argument. I can make a lunch meal and a snack out of that wrap. The best part, in fact, the real reason I'm okay with spending more money (I don't use points) here, is that I get to choose my ingredients. I can choose different ingredients to go for different tastes. I mean, where else are you going to get the option of adding wasabi aoli or hummus? More importantly, I get to opt out of the grease and frozen meats that I would otherwise get if I went to the eateries on Euclid. The ambiance is great, there's a variety of seating options, and it's close to CS computer labs. I think even if I weren't a student, I'd still come here. That being said, yes, this place is not for people who want quiet, or who want a fast meal. It's for bringing your books (yes, plural, books) and pulling a day-long study session with headphones or bringing a friend for chatting/socializing/fiddling on your laptop. Sure, you can get cheaper coffee at Yali's and maybe Yali's has better pastries, but the ability to make one's own wrap is something I would have thought would be better appreciated over service time. read more

I really love Yali's and their food and have been going here since last year. Being a student, it's nice to have a place that isn't a dining hall to eat at and relax. However, for the new school year they have made some changes that kinda suck. Their prices have raised on certain items because they now have additions on them that even if you get them without them, the price isn't reduced which is unfortunate. Also, they charge almost $2 extra if you want to eat there, which again, as a student really sucks. I get that it's more work for them to wash dishes used and clean the tables, but it just makes me and others feel unwelcome. But the great food and drinks really help to make up for this! And their coffee is truly awesome - especially the Milky Way Chiller. read more

Got the roast beef sandwich, but there was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much horseradish sauce, to the point that I had to scrape off the sauce from the bread. The sauce is liking eating just wasabi (it's not diluted with much mayo). Bread, roast beef and pickled onions were good, but not a very enjoyable lunch experience. If you want roast beef, make sure to ask for mayo instead. read more

Chia pudding was $4 and the portion was about the size of a baby food jar(like 3oz). Worst part was it didn't have any flavor(tasted like chia seeds in thick milk). Prices in general are pretty steep but be location is very convenient and there are lots of study spaces. read more

Qualcomm is THE place to eat on campus. The wraps are delicious, huge, and cheap. Also they have so many sauces! I usually get a spinach wrap with swiss cheese, sundried tomato and/or chipotle sauce and allll the veggies. You can sub hummus in for cheese if you want to go vegan. read more

Nice space but the barista was very rude. I asked for almond milk, which gave me a dirty look then threw it on the counter. She didn't have a name badge, but she has a nose ring, bleached hair, and painted on eyebrows. I wish she was as courteous as the others who work there, as her action amounted to a negative overall experience. Customer service training would benefit her, or just leaving work and going home when having a bad day to take responsibility for one's emotions would also benefit the cafe overall. read more

I'd safely say that I've eaten at every establishment that takes mealpoints and Qualcomm is, by far, THE BEST. I only go here for the wraps since the line for Peets coffee is frequently, annoyingly long. Their wraps are probably the healthiest, most filling meal you can get on campus with mealpoints. I ask for EVERYTHING and if you're shameless like me, you can also ask for extra of any veggie. The sauces are overrated to me (especially with tuna, you can't really taste it) so I just order tuna +cheese+veggies. Love how you can get carrot slices and red cabbage, which I don't see often at sandwich bars. So glad that they got rid of the ridiculous filling out a form thing instead of taking your order as you move down the line like Subways. (and really hoping they don't bring back the form-filling system) The only downside to this place is the HUGE lines during lunch time from 11-1pm. I like to come here later in the day for late lunch or early dinner since there is usually no line at all. I'd also recommend the peanut butter + banana + wheat wrap for a filling breakfast/alternative to the 500 calorie bagel cream cheese combo. read more

Super adorable, honestly this place is SO pretty! BRAND NEW BUILDING (grrr, engineers and their nice buildings) and the food is so-so, but the location is surrounded by glass doors/windows so you can study really well on a sunny day. I'll give one extra star for the food section, which is decent. I've gotten a wrap here that was pretty tasty. The coffee, Peet's specifically, is AWDFUL. I ordered an espresso and received three ounces of burnt espresso mixed with burnt milk. On top was dishwater soap looking foam that looked as if it had been scooped right on. This is one of my favorite places on campus. To be honest, very little of that has to actually do with the food - which is expensive...AND they only serve salads/wraps. The Peet's cafe side isn't as ridiculously pricey, but they only offer pastries and coffee drinks. I really like this place because of the ambiance of the seating area! Open and airy and comfy! I go to this place just because I either need to enter the self-pace center next door or I want to use my meal points to buy coffee/pastry, which is going to be quite a walk if I want to go somewhere else (i live on hillside). Their coffee is fair, just like any other Peet's place. However, their almond croissant is below the average. They taste more like bread than croissant, and the almond butter in them is less than enough. Also, the staff there can be a little "inpolite" sometimes. But the environment is pretty nice and lively. read more
