Saying Heidi and her team are amazing would be an understatement. I've never been rushed here, prices so fair, never left unhappy with my results. Pedicure lasted a whole hour and that was just new basic pedicure, which included a hot stone massage by the way. My cuticles and dead skin are history, no pain, no blood no foil. And my nails look phenomenal. Heidi's fills last me a month each time and I just can't wait get back in. I'm very happy that they use a plastic wrap for their tubs since a few places I've been to in Davis and around Davis don't do this. Overall relaxing and enjoyable experience! We were able to make an appointment on short notice and the service was friendly and everyone was very happy with the quality of their nails. Especially the kids - who were extremely specific about what colors they wanted on each little teeny, tiny nail - and I couldn't believe the beautiful nail art they were able to do. The staff were so willing to listen to the kids and make them happy - no pandering, just really kind. Everything was clean and hygienic and they offered OPI products. I've tried a bunch of nail salons in Davis over the past 4 years in search of the perfect one, and I have to admit that Y2K is pretty close to it! I went in for my first time today, and was immediately greeted with a smile and immediately assisted. Despite the tight space, it was clean and organized well. I was a little shocked to discover that I had to pay $40 for a full set gel polish, which is a little pricier in comparison to other shops in the area. I stumbled into this nail place looking for g nails, which is actually not on G street (lol). I got a manicure here anyways and it was terrible. The manicurist used tools that looked dirty and during my manicure CUT HIS OWN NAILS. WITH THE SAME TOOL. He then proceeded to file my nails, and then upon noticing his own thumb, STOPPED TO FILE HIS OWN THUMB. On top of that I chose a light pink color and he pulled out a neon dark pink that wasn't the same as what I asked for. Would not recommend this place ever. read more

I'm in my fourth year here at Davis and for the last year and a half I have been coming to Y2K to get my nails done! I now come every 3 weeks to get my gel nails refreshed, and every other visit I get my toes done with gel (because they look perfect that long, seriously). I also bring my mom, brother and his girlfriend here when they visit. They all love it here. His gf went to Davis too and never knew about Y2K and says this place is way better than the places she tried here. Usually the man does my toes, he always listens to me about the shape and is so kind. They end up beautiful every time and the fact that I get a hot stone massage with a basic pedicure is the beeeest. For my nails, I worked at in n out for 5 years which meant I neeeever was allowed to have them done. Ever since I quit and have been coming here, I have gotten to experience having long nails and these ladies (and men) have REVIVED my hands so much. They are detail-oriented about making sure the paint job is clean and also give the most helpful suggestions for colors and nail care. I can be OCD about the details and they never get frustrated by me. I honestly love coming here and I would be giving this place 5 stars if they were able to do more design stuff for my gel nails. I've been wanting to try ombré or other options but they only do designs for acrylics (which sadly I'm not into). Gel manicures were quoted as $25 over the phone. Were charged $30 when we got there because they had to remove gel polish first which is an extra $5 which they did not tell us. Removal of gel nail polish took 45 minutes for both my friend and I, I asked three times if they could dremm off the top coat so it could soak off faster but she just kept scraping off little by little. She properly repaired my broken nail which was pretty much the only good thing about today. One man also did a very nice pedicure on my friend and she is very happy with how he handled her ingrown toenail. She painted my nails with gel, with very thick coats, so much so, it looks bubbley and uneven and lumpy. Will not be returning to have gel manicure. I feel very bad writing this and giving it 2 stars, but the manicure (regular nail polish) I got is probably the worst I ever had, and the paint began chipping a day after. My manicurist used an excess of product on each nail and spread it unevenly and didn't clean it up after either, So I was left with a lumpy, uneven coat. I think it probably depends on which manicurist you get so I'd look at other reviews and find one that has good reviews and ask to make an appointment with her. read more

We went here when a more popular nail salon we had a reservation at was running 1.5 hours behind. Y2K nails took us in right away and even bumped us ahead of someone bc we had a wedding to get to, all 3 of us! Also I picked one of those sparkle colors that has big pieces of sparkle and is actually really hard to paint. The first time I went to Y2K was a month ago and I loved it! The guy who did my nails took his time and was very detail oriented. I loved my nails so much I wanted to go back for a fill. I made an appointment and got a fill yesterday and it was the worst. First of all, like I said, I had an appointment and it wasn't busy at all-- the lady who did my nails hella rushed through it. In the end, my nails was poorly filed, crooked on my right pinky, uneven on my right index, and the nail polish on my right thumb already chipped! (I got my nails done yesterday!)
