I requested a full removal of builder gel, a trim back down to my natural nail length, and then a regular gel polish. The removal itself was fine, but I did feel a little uneasy because the technician using the electric drill was frequently looking away from my nails while the drill was still pressed down. Once the gel color was applied, I asked for what I thought was a fairly simple leaf design. The first attempt unfortunately looked very messy and uneven--almost like a child had drawn the leaves. I ended up waiting for another technician to finish her client so she could redo the design. The second tech did improve it, but the process took much longer than expected. Overall, the solid color gel application was fine, but it seems like more practice may be needed for nail art designs.

Was directed to LAN Tran who speaks English and she proceeded to give me her phone number for Zelle payment. Then she says $70.00. I asked "for a fill?" She repeated "70. Yes". So I paid it and left. A little too high for a fill in my opinion. Won't be returning as a bit high in my opinion yet this may be the norm Downtown Davis?

It was blotchy and they painted over our cuticles. Also, they cut your nails and skin too much. Too short and it burned. It was really expensive. The color selection isn't real, most of their polish is dried out. 60 dollars for the basic gel pedicure job. I would recommend the place beside the Target here at Davis because we got a whole deluxe package for 60 dollars. I would not recommend this place, we tipped but honestly we would not come again.

Nail trim - okay Cuticle care (push back)- barely did it Cuticle care (trim) - rough, clipped my right toe but no blood Rinse off of scrub- missed the back of my calves and I rinsed my calves off myself. Massage - didn't care for it.. similar to rubbing in your own lotion... less than 2 minutes total..wiped off the lotion and oil that didn't absorb with hot towel.

Unfortunately, my last two visits completely changed my opinion. During the first visit, the nail technician repeatedly cut the skin around my fingernails and toenails, causing me to bleed several times. He did apologize, but I was surprised that no discount or adjustment was offered after I was injured during both my manicure and pedicure. I did not complain at the time because I did not want to be confrontational, and since it was my first bad experience there, I decided to give the salon another chance. During my next visit, everything seemed to go smoothly. However, about a week later, I began experiencing severe pain in my big toe and realized I had developed an ingrown toenail. Soon afterward, several other toes began hurting as well. Because I walk frequently for work, the pain became extremely difficult to manage, and I eventually made an appointment with a podiatrist. After examining my feet, the podiatrist found that I had nine ingrown toenails and was also showing early signs of a fungal infection. I cannot say with complete certainty where the fungal issue originated, but these problems appeared shortly after my pedicure, and I had not experienced anything like this before. I had remained loyal to this salon because of my previous positive experiences, but after being cut repeatedly during one visit and then dealing with multiple painful ingrown toenails after the next, I no longer feel comfortable returning. I am sharing this review so other customers can make an informed decision and be cautious about how their nails are being trimmed.

My only gripe is that they used a brand of nail polish I had never heard of (and I've heard of a lot). There were only a few bottles of Opi (my fav)--- I would have appreciated more of that. I got this set Friday night September 7. On Saturday evening 9/8 , I went to a painting class. There is no way a good set of acrylic nails is going to let anything seep underneath them on only the SECOND DAY if they were done properly. Light green paint got trapped underneath the edge near the cuticle on my middle finger on my right hand. Today - day six, the poor quality of care is even more clear to me. More lifting . This post is for the consumer as well as the service providers at this Salon. Im sorry to say that i have to dispute the charges on my credit card that I paid with. I did not get what was promised. Ill be honest, this experience was humiliating , somewhat intimidating and very frustrating! My hope is that management here will take the negative reviews to heart... and work on developing the BEST Salon for the city of Davis. I hope things change.
